The Sewers is the ninth villain level in the Nintendo DS version of LEGO Batman: The Videogame. It is the fourth villain level of Power-Crazed Penguin.

Story

While escaping through the sewers, the Penguin receives a message from his umbrella. He answers the message and realizes it's Catwoman. She says that despite being in prison, she was able to recover the diamond thanks to the help of her cat Isis. Knowing that Catwoman has the diamond, the Penguin and Killer Croc through the sewers to reach the Arkham Asylum parking lot. There, they destroy a wall to reach the cells, where Catwoman is. When she is freed, she gives the diamond to the Penguin, who hides it in his hat. However, Batman and Robin arrive in an elevator. The Penguin and Catwoman escape while Killer Croc stays behind to confront the dynamic duo.

Walkthrough

You start in the sewers of Gotham. You will have to make two red lights turn green. For the first red light, build a lever next to you and pull it. This will cause the red light to turn green. For the second red light, cross an acid to the right with Killer Croc, jump to a small ledge and build a platform in the middle of the acid for the Penguin. A Security Guard on the right will notice you. Defeat him and you'll have to find three blue bricks and place them in a build-it machine in the background. Destroy a barrel on the southwest side to reveal the first blue brick. Grab it and place it in the build-it machine. For the second blue brick, build a pair of golden handles in the upper left corner and pull them with Killer Croc to destroy a wall. Enter a hatch with the Penguin, grab the blue brick on the platform above and place it on the build-it machine. To find the third blue brick, build a lever on the right and pull it to cause steam to escape from three pipes, destroying them and revealing the brick. Grab it and place it in the build-it machine. When you place the three blue bricks into the build-it machine, you can build a button that will attach to a machine. Press it to turn on the machine and make the second red light turn green. With both red lights turning green, a door will open on the far left, where another Security Guard will emerge. Go back to the far left, defeat the guard and go through the newly opened door to reach the next area.

In the next area, use Killer Croc to pull a pair of golden handles on the left and destroy a wall to build a ladder. Climb up it, go to the left of an acid with Killer Croc and pull a lever to raise four platforms for the Penguin. Two platforms in the background will also be lowered, while a third will remain stationary. Jump across the three platforms in the background from left to right and use a Villain Panel to build a hatch. Enter it with the Penguin, drop down to the right and pull another lever to raise the two platforms on the back wall again. This will allow Killer Croc to reach the left ledge. Climb a ladder and use Killer Croc to pull a pair of golden handles and destroy a wall to find a barrel. Destroy it to build a button and step on it to build another ladder. Climb it to reach the higher ledge. There, build a lever and pull it to lower another ladder ahead. Climb that ladder as well to reach the next area.

In the next area, defeat two police officers attacking you and one more will come from the left. Defeat him too and you'll have to place three blue bricks on another build-it machine again. To find the first blue brick, destroy a dumpster in the upper left corner to build a hatch. Enter it with the Penguin, build a tightrope and walk on it to reach the platform on the left. On that platform, press a wall button on the left to reveal this blue brick. Grab it, jump down and place it on the build-it machine. To find the second blue brick, build a pair of golden handles attached to a Police Car in the north corner and pull them with Killer Croc to move the car. This will reveal the blue brick. Grab it and place it in the build-it machine. Destroy a Police Motorcycle on the right to reveal the third blue brick. Grab it too and place it in the build-it machine. By placing the three blue bricks into the build-it machine, you can build another pair of golden handles on the front wall. Pull them with Killer Croc to destroy a wall and reach the final area.

In the final area, go left and two police officers will attack you. Another policeman will come from the ledge above. Defeat him too and build a hatch to the left. Enter it with the Penguin and destroy a gray box on the right to build a dark target. Hit it with the umbrella to turn it green and build a pair of golden handles below. Pull them with Killer Croc to destroy Catwoman's cell door and free Catwoman, ending the level.

Collectables

All collectibles in the level can only be obtained in Free Play.

• Minikit Canisters
  1. Find three Riddler tokens throughout the level to get this minikit:
     1. At the beginning of the level, you will see a silver door in the middle of the acid. Use the Silver Key on it (make sure you use an immune to toxins character) to reveal a small red box on the left. Destroy it with an explosive character to reveal this Riddler token.
     2. On the right ledge of the second area, use a hero character on a Hero Panel to build a pole point. Use an acrobat character on it to reach the platform above and destroy a red box with an explosive character to build a hatch. Enter it with a small character to reach the highest ledge and go right to find this Riddler token.
     3. On the high ledge in the final area, use an explosive character to destroy a small red box in the upper right corner and reveal this Riddler token.
  2. On the right side of the first area, use an explosive character to destroy two small red boxes and build a grapple point. Use a character with grappling hook on it to reach the ledge above and go right. Use a character with super strength to pull a pair of golden handles and destroy a wall to reveal this minikit.
  3. At the beginning of the second area, use the Gold Key on a gold door on the right to open the door with this minikit.
  4. In the third area, destroy three trash cans on the left to build a suit swapper. Use it with Robin or Nightwing to put on the Magno Suit. With the Magno Suit, climb a metal wall on the left and destroy a chimney to build a Hero Panel. Use a hero character on it to reveal a small red box and destroy it with an explosive character to reveal this minikit.
  5. In the final area, use the Blue Key on a blue door on the right side to open a door to a special area. In that special area, you will have to find three blue bricks and place them in a build-it machine. The first blue brick can be found inside a red safe in the upper right corner. Destroy the red safe to reveal this brick, grab it and place it in the build-it machine. To find the second blue brick, destroy a safe in the upper left corner to build a hatch. Enter it with a small character and use a high-jumper character to reach the platform on the left, where you will find this blue brick. Grab it, jump down and place it on the build-it machine. Destroy a penguin car in the foreground to reveal the third blue brick. Grab it too and place it in the build-it machine. By placing the three blue bricks into the build-it machine, you will be able to build this minikit to obtain it.

• Gotham Docks (Villain) Red Power Brick
  • Note: This Red Power Brick can also be obtained on the hero side of this level. On the left ledge of the second area, use the Gold Key on a gold door to the left to reveal pieces in the acid below. A ladder will also be raised so you can get back to the ledge if you fall. Walk on the acid with an immune to toxins character and use the revealed pieces to build a platform. Stand on that platform and use a small character to enter a hatch and reach a room blocked with lasers. In that room, use an explosive character to destroy a red and black generator, disable the lasers, and build a pair of golden handles. Pull the golden handles with a character with super strength to destroy a wall and reveal this Red Power Brick.

• Killer Croc Joker Card
  • On the ledge with the second minikit, use an immune to toxins character to cross three gases to the right and have both characters pull two levers to open a door and reveal this Joker Card.

• Firefly
  • While playing this level in Villain Hunt mode, you will find this character on the platform where you find the first blue brick in the third area.

Unlockables

After completing the level, you unlock a Policewoman. In Arkham Asylum you will be able to continue to Arctic World. After collecting the Red Power Brick, you can purchase Gotham Docks (Villain). After finding Firefly in Villain Hunt mode, you can purchase him in the Batcave.
