[Upon receiving a message from Dunby]

Marion Dunby: McCain! Are you anywhere near Downtown?

Chase McCain: Uh, sure Chief, why?

Marion Dunby: We've got reports that a gang is trying to abduct Forrest Blackwell! They've got him on top of a building near the Downtown science museum!

Chase McCain: I'm on my way, Chief! Has backup been dispatched?

Marion Dunby: Yes, but by the time they get there it'll be too late, so hurry up! I really don't want to get on the wrong side of Forrest Blackwell. [He cuts the call]

I Need a Blue Color Swapper

[Upon reaching the white wall in Downtown]

Chase McCain: Huh! I need to find a blue color swapper.

Blackwell in Danger!

[Chase walks across the roof to hear and see Blackwell in danger]

Forrest Blackwell: [off-screen] Help! [on screen] Somebody help!

Chase McCain: [off-screen] There's Blackwell!

Forrest Blackwell: I'm being abducted against my will! Can anyone hear me?

Troublemaker Tom: Yeah, I can!

Forrest Blackwell: I mean other than my abductors!

Rescuing Blackwell

[Phil and Tom leave through a door to go to the roof where Chase is]

Troublemaker Phil: Stop him!

[Upon reaching the roof where Blackwell is]

Troublemaker Tom: Whoa! Did you see how cool that was?! Dave? Dave?

[Dave starts to fall]

Dave: Whoa!

[The scene changes to two girls noticing Dave falling]

Deborah Graham: Look! An awning! If this was an action movie, someone would fall onto that.

Dave: Aargh! [He ends up falling into the ice cream cart, destroying it] Ooh! That really smarts! Could my day get any worse?

[Two police officers surround Dave]

Policeman: Ahem.

[The scene fades out and another one plays, this time with Blackwell tied up]

Forrest Blackwell: Merciful heavens above! Help at last! Arrest these men!

Troublemaker Phil: Get him!

[Two clones of Tim, a clone of Phil and a clone of Tom come out of the two doors on the left]

Forrest Blackwell: Thank you, young man! I thought my fate was sealed.

Chase McCain: Not while I'm on duty, sir.

Forrest Blackwell: [He manages to untie himself] They may have reinforcements so we ought to leave here at once. My car should still be nearby.

Escorting Blackwell

Quentin Spencer: Sorry we're late, Chase. Not that it looks like you needed our help!

Forrest Blackwell: Young man, I should feel a lot safer at the police station. Would you mind driving me? I'm still rather shaken.

Quentin Spencer: Go on! I'll call the Chief and tell him you got Mr. Blackwell down safely. We'll stay here and round up the gang members...

[Chase and Blackwell get into the staff car, while Quentin gets into his police car]

Forrest Blackwell: Thank you. I'm dreadfully sorry, I haven't even asked your name?

Chase McCain: I'm Chase, Chase McCain. Uh, we've never met before!

Forrest Blackwell: Chase McCain? Well, what a tiny world we live in... You know, I was only recently talking to an acquaintance of mine about you. About all the effort you went to in arresting Rex Fury.

Chase McCain: He doesn't think Chief Dunby did that?

Forrest Blackwell: Oh no... Some of us have a far clearer view of those events. Unmuddied by spin. Such a pity Rex got out again. Who knows what fiendish things he's up to?

Chase McCain: Yeah... So, who were those men back there?

Forrest Blackwell: Environmental activists, no doubt. They don't care for me at all.

Chase McCain: Why don't they like you?

Forrest Blackwell: You don't know? I thought everyone did. Simply an unfortunate misunderstanding that I have put completely behind me now.

Chase McCain: The main thing is, you're safe now.

Forrest Blackwell: Yes. I must have a word with my security people...

[When arriving at Cherry Tree Hills]

Forrest Blackwell: Well... This is nice.

[When being close to the Police Station]

Forrest Blackwell: Lovely day for a drive.

[When taking too long]

Forrest Blackwell: My posterior is starting to ache. I should have gone by helicopter.

Blackwell is Safe

Chase McCain: We're here!

[Chase parks the staff car in the Police Station parking lot]

Marion Dunby: Mr. Blackwell, I am so relieved you're safe! I could barely sleep!

Forrest Blackwell: Thank you again, Chase. You sleep during work hours?

Marion Dunby: Well, er... Let me take you inside!

Forrest Blackwell: Thank you. Farewell, Chase McCain. I'm sure we will meet again. Hahahahahahahahaha! [He grabs Dunby] Oh, that rhymed!

Natalia in Danger!

[Upon receiving a message from Natalia after escorting Blackwell]

Chase McCain: Natalia?

Natalia Kowalski: I... I might - I repeat might - need your help. I couldn't find my dad in any of Chan's other offices.

Chase McCain: So?

Natalia Kowalski: I decided to try his salvage yard. And now I'm stuck in here.

Chase McCain: What?!

Natalia Kowalski: I was desperate! It is my dad, Chase.

Chase McCain: What if Chan catches you?

Natalia Kowalski: That won't happen - I'm completely hid-

[An off-screen Chan Goon notices Natalia]

Unknown Chan Goon: HEY! WHOSE FEET ARE STICKING OUT FROM BEHIND MY CURTAINS?!

Natalia Kowalski: Help! [She cuts the call]

Chase McCain: Natalia? Natalia?!

Can You Help Me, Ellie?

[Chase calls Ellie through his communicator]

Chase McCain: Ellie! I need a favor and the Chief cannot know about it.

Ellie Phillips: Name it.

Chase McCain: Natalia's in trouble at Chan's junkyard and I'm gonna need backup to get her out.

Ellie Phillips: Natalia Kowalski? What are you up to?

Chase McCain: It's a long story. Can you help?

Ellie Phillips: Sure, I know a couple of officers who don't mind going behind the Chief's back. I'll tell them to meet you outside the salvage yard. And I'll get them to bring a disguise - we don't want Chan recognizing you.

Chase McCain: Thanks, Ellie. You don't know how much this means to me... [He cuts the call]

Special Disguise for Chase

[Chase checks the time on an invisible clock while waiting for his backup]

Chase McCain: Where's my backup?

[Clutch and Studski drive a red car into an alley]

Chase McCain: They're meant to be here by now!

[A citizen and three chickens jump off a bridge when they notice Clutch and Studski's car. Clutch and Studski use a ramp to get to Chase. They stop the car just in time before accidentally hitting Chase and get out of it]

Clutch: Hey, Chase!

Studski: Okay, Studski and Clutch are here! Where's the lady in distress?

[Chase is feeling a little angry about the mess caused by Clucth and Studski. The scene fades to another one with Chase explaining the problem]

Chase McCain: Clutch. Studski. Thanks for this. Natalia's in Chan's salvage yard. The Chief arrested some of his gang earlier but he's still got a lot of heavies in there. Do you have a disguise for me?

Studski: Do we ever?!

[The scene fades to another one with Chase wearing his special disguise]

Clutch: [Laughs] That is perfect, Studski!

Chase McCain: Really?

Studski: They belong to our friend, Huggy. He has no sense of personal space.

Clutch: Let's go rescue this girl.

Studski: C'mon!

[Clutch and Studski head towards Chan's junkyard, but Chase's boots prevent him from running]

Chase McCain: I'm gonna have to take these things off.

Arrival at the Scrapyard

[Upon entering the junkyard, three Chan Goons notice the trio of cops]

Shui Xue: Hey! I know those two - they're cops! You! Go and warn the boss!

Clutch: I guess the softly-softly approach is out of the question. You ready, Studski?

Studski: I was born ready. Ready for what?

Chase McCain: We've gotta get to Natalia as fast as possible. Chan could be doing anything to get information out of her!

Studski: Like giving her ice cream?

Clutch: What? He's not gonna try to bribe her, Studski.

Studski: No, I mean I get really bad headaches from ice cream. I'd tell you anything if you threatened me with it. Especially mint-chocolate. Blecht!

Clutch: Riiight... Or they could make her drink loads of soda pop and she'd get trapped wind, because ladies can't burp in public.

Studski: My mom does that all the time!

Clutch: Your mom ain't no lady.

Studski: Yeah... Oh! I thought of another one! They could --

Chase McCain: Alright! That really isn't helping!

Clutch and Studski: Ooh!

Exploring the First Courtyard

[When grabbing a fuel can]

Chase McCain: A couple more cans of fuel and I can start that generator.

[When finding the fuel can that is inside a washing machine]

Chase McCain: Who puts a fuel can in a washing machine?! No wonder it's in a scrapyard.

[If the player approaches the first gate before opening it]

Chase McCain: I need to get that gate open.

[When climbing the pipe fragment]

Chase McCain: Hey look at me! I'm on a roll!

Chase McCain: Whoa! That was close!

[Upon reaching the ledge after avoiding the falling car]

Chase McCain: Remember, scrapyards are dangerous places which shouldn't be played in. Y'hear me?

[Shui Xue pulls a lever to activate two conveyor belts]

Shui Xue: Good luck getting over the grinder! Haha!

[Upon reaching the end of the first area]

Chase McCain: Well that's a subtle arrow.

Arrival at the Third Courtyard

Studski: Soooo... Is Natalia ticklish?

Chase McCain: What?

Studski: Is she ticklish? Once, I got tickled so badly by a mugger that I told him the security code for my bank card.

Clutch: You told me he threatened you!

Studski: Yeah - with more tickling.

Clutch: So you're really ticklish are you?

Studski: Don't even think about it, Clutch! You already know my security code anyway.

Clutch: You still haven't changed it from your birthday?

Studski: Duh, yeah... To my twin sister's.

Exploring the Third Courtyard

[When using the Grapple Gun to pull three cars]

Chase McCain: Maybe I can use those cars as platforms?

[When building a rusty car engine]

Chase McCain: Not bad, I'm normally afraid of changing my car's oil!

[When building the Teleport Pad]

Chase McCain: A teleporter built out of scrap? If I come out the other end as a fly, I will not be happy.

Arrival at the Fourth Courtyard

[When teleporting to the fourth courtyard]

Chase McCain: Oh good, more bad guys. Well, at least my head isn't on backwards or anything.

Natalia Found

Natalia Kowalski: Chase! Get me down from here!

Chase McCain: [off-screen] Alright! Just hang on! Sorry! Poor choice of words...

Rescuing Natalia

[If the player takes a long time to rescue Natalia]

Natalia Kowalski: Are you gonna get me down any time soon? Hurry up! My arms are hurting! Are you going to rescue me or what?

[When using the blue and white panel]

Chase McCain: I'll have you down in a minute.

Natalia Kowalski: About time! Sorry... I mean thanks.

[When climbing the crane]

Chase McCain: I just need to find the button to lower you gently.

[Chase operates the crane and drops Natalia on a mattress]

Natalia Kowalski: Agh!

Chase McCain: Yeah... That wasn't it.

Natalia Rescued

[Chase, Natalia, Clutch, and Studski leave Chan's junkyard as more cops arrive]

Natalia Kowalski: Ugh... He made me eat ice cream!

Studski: Called it!

Clutch: Studski, let's make ourselves scarce before the Chief shows up. See ya, Chase!

Chase McCain: [off-screen] Thanks, guys.

[Clutch and Studski return to their red car and drive away]

Chase McCain: And you've gotta keep out of this, Natalia! I'll find your dad, I promise. I don't want to see you get hurt.

Natalia Kowalski: Okay! Okay...

[The scene fades and another one plays]

Chase McCain: Stay out of trouble!

Natalia Kowalski: I will!

[Natalia drives her car backwards and accidentally overturns a police car]

Policeman: Hey!

Natalia Kowalski: Starting from now.

Chase McCain: Yeah... That wasn't it.

[The police car explodes. Both the level and the chapter end]

Story

After stealing a moon buggy, Chase is called on again by Dunby to help save Forrest Blackwell from abductors. Scaling the rooftops, McCain saves Blackwell from the abductors and drives Blackwell to the police station. However Blackwell leaves Chase with an eerie message that they would be seeing each other again.

He then receives a call from Natalia who is then captured in Chan's salvage yard. Infiltrating the salvage yard with two officers, Clutch and Studski, he saves Natalia but Chan escapes during all the chaos.

Walkthrough

LEGO City

After completing the previous chapter, you will be at the Kings Court dock listening to a message from Dunby. When you finish listening to the message, take someone else's vehicle and follow the path of ghost studs until you reach a white wall in Downtown. You will have to look for a color swapper to paint the wall. Go south of the white wall to find several color swappers in the storefront of a closed building. Use the Astronaut suit on a Teleport Pad to enter the building. There, use the fifth color swapper on the left side to change the color of your Robber suit's Color Gun from purple to blue. Then, use the Teleport Pad again to exit the building and use the blue color from your Color Gun to paint the white wall to blue and white. Climb up the newly painted wall and climb some handholds to reach the ceiling. Swing on some poles to get to the other side, walk a tightrope to cross a gap, jump over some obstacles, and use a catapult to cross a large gap. Suddenly, you'll see a cutscene of Blackwell in danger. When the scene ends, you will see that a Phil and a Tom will come out of a door near you and attack you. Fight them and arrest them, only for two clones of Tim to come. Defeat them as you did the previous two troublemakers and use the Astronaut suit on a space box in the upper right corner of the ceiling to reveal some bricks in the upper left corner. Use them to build a white wall and use the blue color from your Robber suit's Color Gun to paint it. Climb it, walk right and hold on to a wall to reach the platform on the right. Continue further to the right, defeat two troublemakers, use a blue and white panel on a wall to the left to reach the drainpipe on the right, and move along it to reach the roof on the right. There, jump some poles to reach a higher roof, walk a tightrope to cross a gap, and continue further to the right until you find pieces. Use them to build a trampoline, use it to cling to the roof above, and go right until you reach the far platform. Go even further right, climb some handholds to reach the high platform on the right, and use a blue and white panel to reach a further platform. Use a blue and white panel on the wall to cross a gap, jump over an obstacle, climb a blue tube, and use a zip line to reach the roof of a distant building. Press the jump button quickly to run over a sloping roof and use a catapult to reach the roof where Blackwell is. You'll see a cutscene and when it ends, you'll have to fight six troublemakers: two clones of Phil, two clones of Tom and two clones of Tim. Fight them using your kung fu skills and arrest them. After defeating them, you will have rescued Blackwell. Now, you will have to escort him to the Police Station in Cherry Tree Hills. You will escort him to the staff car. The staff car has four hearts. If you hit a wall, you will lose a heart. Losing all the hearts will cause you to have to restart the escort. It is best to follow the path of ghost studs being careful not to crash into walls or cars. The escort will end when you arrive at the designated place in the Police Station parking lot.

Once you finish escorting Blackwell, you'll unlock a Free Run right next to the first wall you painted. After this, you will hear a message from Natalia, saying that she went to look for her father at Chan's salvage yard, but suddenly, she is captured by a Chan Goon. After hearing this message, you will call Ellie, who will tell you that she will call two officers, who will bring a disguise so that Chan does not recognize you. Hop into a nearby car (either the staff car or the black car) and follow the path of ghost studs until you reach the entrance to Chan's scrapyard in Pagoda, at which point you will begin the seventh level: Scrapyard Scrap.

Special Assignment 7: Scrapyard Scrap

You start at the entrance to Chan's junkyard. Seven Chan Goons will notice you and attack you. Although Clutch and Studski accompany you in this level, they do not help you, so you will have to fight the goons alone. Fight the seven Chan Goons using your kung fu skills and arrest them. After defeating them, you will have to fill a generator with three fuel cans. First, destroy a green container near the starting point to reveal a question mark scanner symbol. Use the Special suit on it to find the first fuel can inside a washing machine in the upper left corner. Grab it and take it to the generator in the lower left corner to fill it up a little. You will find the second fuel can near the generator. Grab it and take it to the generator to have it almost full. You will find the third fuel can by destroying the green container next to the gate on the right. Grab it and take it to the generator to have it full. After filling the generator, pull a lever to activate a fan next to it. Use the fan to reach the ledge on the left and pull a lever to make a crane drop three pipe fragments. Only one of these fragments will be left intact, while the other two will be destroyed and a large Super Brick will appear. Grab the Super Brick to increase your bricks by 10,000, hop on the pipe fragment and move it to the space near the gate. Move to the right while on the pipe fragment to open the door to the next courtyard.

In the next courtyard, you will find three Chan Goons and a dog guarding a shed. Fight the three Chan Goons using your kung fu skills and arrest them. After defeating them, you will have to build a Car Crusher, which will cost you 21,000 bricks. If you don't have enough bricks, go get Super Bricks. At this point in the level, you should have 10,000 bricks thanks to getting a large Super Brick in the first zone. First, use the Special suit to pull an object that is on a ledge to the left. Then, use the object pieces to build a color swapper with the color green. Use it to change the color of your Robber suit's Color Gun from purple to green. Next, go to the bottom right corner of the courtyard, climb up some handholds, and walk along a small blue walkway to reach a green valve. Go back to the bottom right corner, place the valve on a connector, and turn it to remove a red panel from the poisonous water. Use the green color of your Color Gun to change the color of the red panel to green. This will drain the poisonous water, allowing you to break a cage to get a small Super Brick, increasing your brick count by 1,000. To get rid of the dog guarding the shed, use the Miner suit to destroy a pile of black rocks in the upper right corner, next to a refrigerator. Then, push the refrigerator to the left to reveal a dynamite vending machine. Use it to get a dynamite. Grab it and place it in a barrel next to a large silver container on the right. Move away from the dynamite and it will explode, destroying the silver container and allowing you to build a dog house. This will cause Chase to call the dog, so now the dog will own the house you built. Thanks to this, you will be able to use the Robber suit to open the shed door and grab a large Super Brick, increasing your bricks by 21,000. With all those Super Bricks obtained, you should have 21,000 bricks.

When you have 21,000 bricks, go to the multicolored pad and use the 21,000 bricks to build a Car Crusher. After building the Car Crusher, pull a lever to activate it. The Car Crusher will lift a car and put it on a conveyor belt to turn it into a trash cube. Thanks to that trash cube, you can use it to reach the pile of junk. Return to the first courtyard and use the trash cube to reach the first high ledge. Walk on a blue walkway and fight a Shui Xue waiting for you. Jump onto a small ledge and move across some handholds and a white and blue ledge to reach the ledge on the right. Move quickly through the drain pipes to avoid being hit by a falling car and when you reach the ledge on the right, you will see that another Shui Xue will pull a lever to activate conveyor belts, bringing cars that will make you fall into a crusher. Be sure to see above which cars will fall as you walk over a white and blue ledge to cross the crusher. After crossing the crusher, use a handhold to reach a platform and pull a green lever to make a crane drop some white and blue bricks. Get off the platform and use the white and blue bricks to build a white and blue wall. Climb that wall you just built to reach a tunnel that will take you to the next area.

In the next area, go right and you will be attacked by three Chan Goons. Fight them and arrest them. After defeating them, use the Special suit to pull three carts in the upper right corner. Then, use them as platforms to reach the tall donut on the left and drop down the hole to reach a box. Destroy a pile of black rocks in the Miner suit and take the box to a green pad on the right to build a rusty car engine. This will cause an orange car to the south to move and reveal a cover, but two Chan Goons will come to attack you. Fight them and arrest them. After defeating them, use the Robber suit to open the lid and reveal a dynamite. Grab the dynamite with the Miner suit, use the orange car you moved to jump over some poles, and place the dynamite in a barrel next to a silver plane. Move away from the dynamite and it will explode, destroying the plane's silver cockpit and revealing some bricks. Use them to build a Teleport Pad. Then, use the Astronaut suit on the Teleport Pad to teleport to the fourth courtyard.

When you teleport to the fourth courtyard, four Chan Goons will attack you. Fight them and arrest them. After defeating them, you will see that a crane is holding Natalia. To get to the crane, move through a drain pipe in the upper left corner. Then, use a blue and white panel to cross a gap, get off the platform where you land, and get on the crane. Chase will drop Natalia on a mattress and the level will end. Upon returning to LEGO City, the chapter will be completed, beginning the ninth chapter: Bringing Home the Bacon.
