It is based on The LEGO Movie, developed by Traveller's Tales and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and TT Games, released in February 2014 and has both single-player and co-op.

In 2013, The LEGO Movie was revealed to come out in February 2014. It was also announced that alongside the film would be a video game tie-in.
