The Jundland Wastes is the seventeenth level in the Nintendo DS version of LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga. It is the second level of A New Hope.

Opening Crawl

Episode IV

THE JUNDLAND WASTES

Darth Vader searches in vain

for the secret rebel plans on

Princess Leia's starship. The

droid R2-D2 has escaped with

the Death Star blueprints to

the planet Tatooine below.

But R2-D2, along with his

companion C-3PO, has been

captured by Jawas - small

scavenger creatures who trade

in mechanical scrap.

Young Luke Skywalker,

unaware of the great destiny

which lies before him, is

looking for droids to help with

work on his uncle's moisture

farm. As he approaches the

Jawas' sandcrawler, his life is

about to change forever....

Story

Later, a farmer named Luke Skywalker buys R2 and 3PO from the Jawas because the other droids are breaking down. That night, R2 and 3PO escape from Lars' farm to search for Ben Kenobi, only to be captured by Jawas later. Luke goes to find them, but is attacked by a Tusken Raider. Ben Kenobi arrives and scares him. Luke and Ben travel through the Jundland Wastes, fighting the Tusken Raiders. They then arrive at the Sandcrawler and rescue R2 and 3PO. They travel further through the Jundland Wastes as 3PO uses moisture evaporators to dry the mud. When they are in front of Ben's hut, they defeat the Sandtroopers and enter. Then they see Princess Leia's message. Ben then gives Luke Anakin's old lightsaber.

Walkthrough

You start in Jundland Wastes. You will be attacked by Tusken Raiders. Defeat them and go to the right as you defeat more. Shoot a rock twice to drop it and use it to reach the ledge above. Defeat a Tusken Raider and continue down the path to the right. Continue to the right while defeating more Tusken Raiders until you find three platforms on the ground. Use Ben's Force to place them on the wall and use them to reach the ledge above. Cross the northern archway to reach the next area.

In the next area, use Ben's Force to move a giant box. Then, get on the box, use Ben's Force again to lower a platform, and get on it to pull a lever. This will lower another platform to the left. Jump on it and use Ben to lower the platforms and jump on them until you reach the highest platform. There, pull a lever to activate an elevator and reveal a grapple point for Luke. Use the elevator to reach the roof of the Sandcrawler and pull two levers near the right side to activate a tube underneath the vehicle. Return to the ground and go to the Sandcrawler tube to reach the next area.

In the next area, go to the right and you will find five yellow wheels behind orange stairs. Destroy the orange stairs and use Ben's Force to spin the five yellow wheels and open the door on the far right. Go through that door to reach the next area.

In the next area, you'll find four cells, with R2-D2 in the second one. Pull a lever to drop a box. Then, push it into the hole near R2's cell. This will cause the box to lower and the cell to open, causing R2 to join your team. Even if you are R2, the Jawas won't bother you. Go to the right side of the area and use R2 on an astromech panel to open the door that will take you to the next area.

In the next area, quickly step on eight buttons on each side to reveal two levers. Have Ben and Luke pull them to open the door that will take you to the next area.

In the next area, you will find C-3PO trapped in a glass cylinder. Have Luke and Ben pull two levers on either side of the cylinder to lift it and free 3PO. Next, build a protocol panel and use 3PO on it to open the door that will take you to the final area of ​​the level.

In the final area, Tusken Raiders will attack you again. Defeat them and go up the hill on the left side. Go right and use Ben's double jump to reach a high ledge. There, push a box to knock it over and destroy it, then use Ben's Force on its pieces to build a platform on quicksand. Use that platform to reach a small island and use 3PO on a protocol panel on an evaporator to drain the quicksand. Continue to the right until you find more quicksand (the other two protocol panels on the evaporators are optional). Use Ben's Force to fix a broken evaporator and use 3PO on another protocol panel to drain the quicksand. Go right and you will find another quicksand. Use Ben's Force to raise two bridges and use them to cross the quicksand. Go right and you will be attacked by four Sandtroopers. Defeat them and step on two buttons to release a lever. Pull it to open the door to Ben's hut. Enter the hut to finish the level.

Collectables

S means that the collectible can be obtained both in Story and in Free Play. F means the collectible can only be obtained in Free Play.

• Minikit Canisters
  1. (S) At the beginning of the level, use a double jump character to climb the ledges to the north and then go right. Then, on the higher platform on the right, jump across the platform on the left, defeat a Tusken Raider, and then jump to the platform with this minikit.
  2. (S) In the first area, before reaching the upper walkway, destroy some fences and use a double jump character to cross a bottomless pit to the north. Next, double jump again to reach the ledge in front of you, then climb up two rocks and double jump to reach the platform with this minikit. If you accidentally destroy the two rocks, you can use a Sith character to lower a large rock, but this is only possible in Free Play.
  3. (F) After crossing the walkway in the first area, you will see some red and black walls to the north. Use a Sith character to destroy them and reach a zone with many mines. Dodge the mines, use a double jump character to jump to the platform on the left, and then jump across two platforms on the right to reach this minikit.
  4. (F) In the first area, near the three red and black walls that lead you to the previous minikit, you will find some pieces on the ground. Use them to build a grapple point and use it with a character with blaster to reach the ledge above. There, defeat a Tusken Raider and use a small character to enter a hatch and reach the bottom of the ledge. Go left to find this minikit.
  5. (S) Near the end of the first area, near the three platforms on the ground, you will find a grapple point. Use a character with blaster on it to reach the platform above and destroy a rock to build another grapple point. Use it to reach the highest platform, where you will find this minikit.
  6. (F) On the roof of the Sandcrawler in the second area, you will find twelve dark brown lids on the left side. Use a Sith character to destroy them and reveal two buttons. Have both characters step on the buttons to reveal a hatch. Use a small character to enter it and reach a small room with this minikit.
  7. (S) In the fourth area, you will find this minikit inside the fourth cell. Pull a lever to release a box and push it into the cell with this minikit. The box will lower and the cell will open, allowing you to grab this minikit.
  8. (F) After draining the first quicksand in the final area, use a Sith character to lower a rock. Then, double jump down a passageway to reach a special area. There, use a double jump character to climb up the ledge on the right side and then up the ledge on the left side. On the second ledge, build a grapple point and use it with a character with blaster to reach a high platform. On that platform, go around it to the right until you reach the end. Then, use a hover character to reach the very high ledge on the left and reach this minikit.
  9. (F) Find three grape blocks throughout the level to get this minikit:
     1. At the end of the high platform of the special area with the previous minikit, destroy a rock to reveal this grape block.
     2. In the final area, after passing an optional protocol panel, you will see another protocol panel. Use it with a protocol droid to drain a quicksand. Next, go to the upper left corner of the quicksand and use a small character to enter a hatch and reach a high walkway. There, go left and destroy a rock to reveal this grape block.
     3. On the left side of Ben's hut exterior, destroy a rock to build a grapple point. Use it with a character with blaster to reach a platform, then use another grapple point to reach a higher platform. There, use a double jump character to climb up a very high ledge and go left to find a rock. Destroy it to reveal this grape block.
  10. (S) Before the last quicksand in the final area, destroy a large rock to build a grapple point. Use a character with blaster to reach a very high platform and use a double jump character to jump the platform on the right and reach this minikit. It is possible to obtain this minikit in Story by using the grapple point with Luke and then jumping to the right platform with Ben, only if the second character is R2 or 3PO.

• Fast Build Red Power Brick
  • (S) At the end of the level, instead of entering Ben's hut, go to the path on the right to reach an area with many mines. Dodge the mines, build a grapple point in the upper left corner, and use it with a character with blaster to reach a platform. Use another grapple point to reach a high platform and then jump down to the platform on the right. There, use a hover character to cross a gap and reach a platform with this Red Power Brick. It is possible to obtain this Red Power Brick in Story by using the grapple points with Luke and then crossing the gap with R2, only if the second character is Ben or 3PO.

Unlockables

The minikit model in this level is a Sandcrawler. After completing the level, you unlock Luke Skywalker (Tatooine) and Ben Kenobi. In Mos Eisley Cantina you can buy a Tusken Raider and a Jawa. You will also be able to continue to Mos Eisley Spaceport. After collecting the Red Power Brick, you can purchase Fast Build.

• This is the only level in the DS version of LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga that has its own name instead of reusing a name from a level from the console version.
