Story[]
According to the LEGO Island instruction manual, The Infomaniac was gifted a single red Lego brick 40 zillion years ago which he built the titular island and his first friend, The Brickster. Unfortunately after suggesting building a third friend, The Brickster instantly became jealous and declared that he would build his own island
Games[]
LEGO Island[]
The Infomaniac resides in the Information Center and gives advice to the player when clicked on, he will also appear at the end of either the F1 or jet-ski races to congratulate the player, rewarding them with a brick depending on their placement in the race. He will also talk to the player via the radio during the pizza delivery and ambulance missions if they take too long to remind them where to go
When The Brickster is loose, The Infomaniac requests Pepper to find the pieces of the police helicopter and is panicking if the player returns to the information center during The Brickster's rampage. Depending on the ending, The Infomaniac will either praise the player for saving the island or comfort them if they fail to catch The Brickster.
LEGO Island 2: The Brickster's Revenge[]
The Infomaniac is now specifically Pepper's guide who tells him about the islanders giving bricks to the pizza delivery boy's house in exchange for pizzas. He's next seen asleep in the information center while The Brickster sneaks in to steal the Constructopedia and sends in the Brickster Bots to wreck havoc on the island.
He acts as the announcer for all the minigames Pepper partakes in and only physically appears in the first one alongside Brickster-Bots that Pepper must whack. His appearance in the overworld is mostly restricted to a hologram on Pepper's headset whenever he's out of range or on another island. After Pepper returns from Adventurer's Island, he and The Infomaniac are shocked when they see The Brickster kidnap Mama and Papa to become his personal chefs, so he tells Pepper to head to the space center to catch up with them.
Once Pepper, Mama and Papa return from Ogel Island, he hosts a massive party for the entire island.
Island Xtreme Stunts[]
The Infomaniac is missing for most of the game, only appearing at the end when The Brickster reveals he's kidnapped him atop another massive tower. He doesn't appear physically until after the final boss when Pepper and the film crew fly him away in a chopper.

Trivia[]
- According to LEGO Island's lead designer, Wes Jenkins, The Infomaniac alongside the rest of the characters were based on the theory of multiple intelligences, each with their own strengths that the player could relate to.
- The Infomaniac's appearance was designed after Wes Jenkins as well, although he isn't voiced by Jenkins in the final game. Jenkins instead voices Enter, one of the ambulance drivers.
- There are a large number of voice clips of The Infomaniac that went unused in the final game, they can be heard on the site, The Cutting Room Floor
- The famous No CD line was originally meant to play if the player ejected the CD at any point while playing. But since that would just result in the game freezing, it was changed to instead play if the player attempted to run LEGO Island without the disk
- The early copies of LEGO Island came with a physical minifigure of The Infomaniac and later on actual sets based on Xtreme Stunts feature him, Pepper and The Brickster
