The First Task is the twenty-first level of LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4. It is the third level of The Goblet of Fire.

Story[]

For the first task, the Champions have to collect an egg by getting past a dragon. Professor Moody, the new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher, hints that Harry can use his wand to summon his broomstick. All four Champions collect their eggs.

Gryffindor Common Room[]

You begin in the Gryffindor Dormitory. Follow the ghost to the 2nd Defense Against the Dark Arts Classroom.

Level Walkthrough[]

The Dragon Pit[]

Run to the right and look for the dragon. Once you get to the blockade, destroy some brown stones lying on the ground and use Wingardium Leviosa to create a dog. At the end, on the right, you will find a purple platform - place it in the cave between the bricks. Some black ones will drop - use Wingardium Leviosa to create a cauldron out of them. Use Wingardium Leviosa to assemble a skeleton and you will get an ingredient. The second one is right next to it, covered in vines - use Lumos Solem to get it. The third one can be obtained from the snake body on the left side - use magic on it. Drink the Strengthening Potion, jump onto the platform and pull the chain. Jump up and use Wingardium Leviosa to place the platform in the middle of the pit. You need to quickly get through the next two rock platforms, as the dragon breathes fire at them. Once you're on the last one, use Wingardium Leviosa on the water barrel to extinguish the flames.

Switch to Hermione and use Crookshanks to dig up the blue brick. The red one is held by a pixie - remove it with Immobulus, while the green one is on the right side - destroy the construct using magic. Use Wingardium Leviosa to place the bricks in the right places - the color of the bricks must match the skeleton helmets. Jump to get the egg, taking you to the next area.

Running from the dragon[]

The next phase is to run away. Jump and run in a straight line (in the direction of the screen), dodging obstacles and jumping over holes in the ground. Keep running away from the dragon until you reach the end to finish the level.

Collectables[]

S means that the collectible can be obtained both in Story and in Free Play. F means the collectible can only be obtained in Free Play.

  • House Crests
    • Gryffindor
      • (S) After assembling a staircase from the three colorful bricks, a part of the crest will appear at the upper part.
    • Slytherin
      • (F) At the beginning, as you're going to the right, three rocks will be thrown onto the path - they're easy to notice - use Dark Magic to destroy it with the dragon.
        1. Between the first and second fire pit.
        2. Near the cauldron.
        3. Near the penultimate flag.
    • Hufflepuff
      • (F) At the beginning you will find three big rocks - stand behind them and wait for the dragon to destroy them with its tail. Afterwards use Dark Magic on the leftovers.
    • Ravenclaw
      • (S) During the dragon escape scene, in the third room on the left side.
  • Student in Peril
    • (S) During the dragon escape scene, inside the locked wardrobe on the right in the third room. Use Reducto on the padlock to save this student.
  • Tokens
    • Harry (Dragon Task)
      • (F) Right after using the dog and opening the door, you will find a black sphere that you can destroy with Dark Magic.
    • Cedric (Dragon Task)
      • (S) Right at the beginning, use Wingardium Leviosa to extinguish the flame using the water barrel. Once you put out the flame, they will give you this character token.
    • Fleur (Dragon Task)
      • (S) During the dragon escape scene, in the first room on the right side of the door.

Unlockables[]

Harry (Dragon Task), Cedric (Dragon Task), and Fleur (Dragon Task) can be purchased from Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions in Diagon Alley after collecting their Character Tokens. You will also be able to continue to Secret of the Egg.
