The Dutchman's Secret is the eighth level from LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game. It is the third level of Dead Man's Chest.
Story[]
Will Turner makes a deal with Jack Sparrow to find the key to the chest in exchange for Jack's compass, but is tricked into serving Davy Jones' crew aboard the Dutchman instead of Jack. Jones agrees to free Sparrow from servitude if he can provide 99 more souls. Will reunites with his father Bootstrap Bill Turner aboard the Dutchman and discovers that Jones possesses the key. Despite losing a game of Liar's Dice against Jones, Will escapes with the key and boards the Edinburgh Trader. Jones summons the Kraken and sinks the ship, but Will escapes again.
Walkthrough[]
You start in the Dutchman's deck. Grab a flashlight and shine it on the purple tentacles next to you. When they reveal the mechanism, activate it with a sword. There will be algae everywhere - use them to build the "passage" for the undead characters. Switch to Bill and go through the algae on the ground. On the other side, destroy the bowl with bricks and use them to build Clanker. Return to the main deck and head to the bridge. Go to the middle part of the bridge and move the green mechanism. Jump down and rebuild Koleniko using the fallen bricks. Give him the broom that is nearby. Return to the bridge, chase away the tentacles near the entrance to the cabins, and go through some other algae using Bill. Upstairs, scare the tentacles with light and rebuild the stairs so Will can climb. As Will, climb the mast and go to the right beam. Throw the axe at the target behind you. Use the falling bricks to build Maccus. After that, you should have already rescued the three pirates on top of the hud so you can move on to the next area.
In the next area, switch to Bill and jump down. Then take the lamp (near the column) and scare the tentacles on the barrel on the left. Jump over the barrel and use it on the mechanism on the left. Go through the seaweed on the right wall. On the other side, use the helm and return. Grab the flashlight, go up the stairs and turn left. Scare the tentacle blocking the green brick behind the mechanism. As Will, activate the mechanism with his sword and switch to Bill to push the green element. This will open the door that will take you to the previous area.
Returning to the previous area, you will see Davy Jones entering his cabin. Follow him entering his cabin to head to the final area of the level.
In the final area of the level, as Bill, enter the seaweed on the left and activate the mechanism on the other side. Return to the start of the area and push the rudder. Now one character must move a rudder and the other must try to reach the other shore (different platforms will emerge on each turn). On the other side, go left - you will find another mechanism activated by a sword. Activate it, push the second rudder and use it. The platforms will appear - walk on them holding the music box. Put it in the right place. It's time for the last puzzle - you must jump on the illuminated platforms. First the blue one, where you wait for your partner. Then in the purple one, closer to the screen. Then jump to the brighter platform in the last row. Finally, go to Jones to finish the level.
Collectables[]
S means that the collectible can be obtained both in Story and in Free Play. F means the collectible can only be obtained in Free Play.
- Minikit Bottles
- (S) At the beginning of the level, scare the tentacles under the stairs and activate the mechanism with a sword. Above the board, a net will appear - use it to jump higher to get the minikit.
- (F) At the end of the ship (ahead and to the right), behind Jones, is a red and gray chest held up by tentacles. Scare them with light and use Blackbeard's power to destroy the chest and get this minikit.
- (F) On the mast near Davy Jones you will find a glass object. Destroy it as Syrena, continue climbing the mast and slide on a zipline to reach the mast where this minikit is.
- (S) When you get below deck, go right. Scare the tentacles using light. They will free the chests. Jump behind them to get this minikit.
- (F) Below deck, go down the stairs and look for a trapdoor with an orange bar (in the center). Pull it like a super strength character (like Blackbeard) and jump down. Use Blackbeard to deal with the bricks on the left and get this minikit.
- (F) At the bottom of the deck, where you can collect the fifth minikit, activate the mechanism with a sword (next to the ladder) and cross the seaweed at the bottom as a ghost pirate (like Billy). On the other side activate one more mechanism with your sword. Some trash will fall out - use it to build a snail and wait for it to give you this minikit.
- (S) In the room with Davy Jones, make sure the mechanisms before the first puzzle are in place. Turn the right helm four times and the left helm three times. The minikit will appear in the middle of the ramp where the water falls.
- (F) In the room with Jones' pipe organs and the puzzles on the floor, you need to get to the middle part and shoot the silver booger on the left using an explosive character. You will reach a new room. Move the chest to the end of the path. Shoot the cage with the minikit and grab the minikit.
- (F) To the right of the same room, you will see a glass cabinet. Destroy it with Syrena's scream to get the minikit.
- (F) Leave the place with the two previous minikits through the door. Outside, as a female character, jump to grab the bar above your head to get this minikit.

At the end of the level you can unlock Bootstrap Bill Turner. In The Port you can buy Maccus, Clanker, Jimmy Legs, Koleniko, Wyvern and Angler. You will be able to continue to Isla Cruces.
