The Black Gate is a location from LEGO The Lord of the Rings. This is also the final location of the game.

Map Stone

The Map Stone for this location is located a little northwest of the Black Gate.

  • Easterling*
    • After completing The Dead Marshes level, west of the Map Stone, you will find this character. Fight him to make him surrender and you can buy him. He costs 25,000 studs.
  • Mordor Orc*
    • After completing The Secret Stairs level, far south of the Black Gate, you will find this character walking around. Fight him to make him surrender and you can buy him. He costs 25,000 studs.
  • Gothmog*
    • After completing The Battle of Pelennor Fields level, you will find this character walking on the drawbridge that leads to the tower of Barad-dûr. Fight him to make him surrender and you can buy him. He costs 125,000 studs.

• Red Bricks
  • 8-Bit Music Red Brick
    • On the west side of the Black Gate, you'll see a hole in a wall. Shoot an arrow there with an archer character and swing on five arrows with a character with agility to reach a high ledge. There, climb a ladder and you'll find a Mordor Orc at the top of a tower. Talk to him to begin his quest. He will ask you for some Mithril Climbing Boots, which you can obtain in the Mount Doom level. When you have the Mithril Climbing Boots, give them to the Orc to complete the quest and he will allow you to buy this Red Brick. It costs 200,000 studs.

Collectables

• Mithril Bricks
  1. Southwest of the Map Stone, between The Dead Marshes and The Black Gate, you will find a climbable wall. Climb it with Gollum and then use a character with axe to destroy a cracked tile and get this Mithril Brick.
  2. On the east side of the Black Gate, use a character with Elven Rope to climb up yellow hooks and reach this Mithril Brick.
  3. North of the Black Gate, you'll see some tiled paths. Destroy all the silver rocks there with the Berserker's bombs and then push two gray blocks onto some green slots to lower the large gray pillars. Finally, use a high-jumper character to climb the gray pillars and reach a Morgul object which, when destroyed with a character capable of breaking Morgul objects, reveals this Mithril Brick.
  4. South of the Black Gate, you will be attacked by a group of Mordor Orcs. Defeat twenty of them within a time limit to reveal this Mithril Brick.
  5. East of the Black Gate, destroy some black rocks on a tiled path. Next, push a block into a green slot and enter a hatch with a small character to reach this Mithril Brick.
  6. Near the area where you get the fourth Mithril Brick, you will find a group of silver rocks. Destroy them with the Berserker's bombs to reveal this Mithril Brick.
  7. On the side of a mountain south of the Black Gate, you will see a cracked tile. Destroy it with a character with axe and go through a cave until you find a male dwarf. Talk to him to begin his quest. He will ask you for a Bubble Pipe, which you can get in the Osgiliath level. When you have the Bubble Pipe, give it to the male dwarf to complete the quest and he will give you this Mithril Brick as a reward.
  8. Further south of the Black Gate, near where you buy Mordor Orc, you will find an orange handle. Pull it with a character with super strength and go through a cave until you see some rocks on the left. Pull a yellow hook with a character with Elven Rope to reveal this Mithril Brick.
  9. From the place where you obtained the previous Mithril Brick, walk along the narrow planks on the right and then use a character with Elven Rope to extend a stone bridge and reach this Mithril Brick.
  10. To the west of the tower of Barad-dûr, you will see a Morgul object. Destroy it with a character capable of breaking Morgul objects to reveal this Mithril Brick.
  11. To the west of the tower of Barad-dûr, you will see a row of wooden pillars and a Morgul object. Destroy the Morgul object with a character capable of breaking Morgul objects and go up the wooden platforms. Then, carefully jump over the wooden pillars until you reach a wooden platform with a Morgul object. Use a character capable of breaking Morgul objects again to destroy that Morgul object and reveal this Mithril Brick.
  12. To the east of the tower of Barad-dûr, you will see a silver gate and a pool of water. Destroy the silver door with the Berserker's bombs and then use a character with bucket to carry water from the pond. Go through a cave and use the water from the bucket to put out a fire. Finally, climb a ladder and walk along a narrow plank to reach this Mithril Brick.
  13. South of the tower of Barad-dûr, destroy a black rock to reveal a crank. Grab it, connect it to a mechanism, and turn it to lower a wooden platform. Jump across the wooden platforms with a high-jumper character and walk a tightrope with a surefooted character to reach this Mithril Brick.
  14. To the northeast of the tower of Barad-dûr, you will see some gray pillars that move vertically and horizontally. They can be very difficult to climb, but it is best to do so using a high-jumper character. Jump across the vertical pillars and then synchronize jump across the horizontal pillars to reach this Mithril Brick.
  15. North of the tower of Barad-dûr, you will see a silver door on the side of a mountain. Destroy the silver door with the Berserker's bombs and go through a cave until you reach a climbable wall. Climb it with Gollum to reach this Mithril Brick.
