The Basilisk is the twelfth level of LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4. It is the sixth and final level of The Chamber of Secrets.
Story[]
A book page in Hermione's hand identifies the monster as a basilisk, a giant serpent that kills people who make direct eye contact with it; the petrified victims only saw it indirectly. The school staff learns Ginny has been taken into the Chamber, and nominate Lockhart to save her. Harry and Ron find Lockhart preparing to flee, exposing him as a fraud. Deducing that Myrtle was the Muggle-born girl that the basilisk killed, they find the Chamber's entrance in the bathroom she haunts. Once inside, Lockhart attempts to stop Harry and Ron by using a Memory Charm. However, because he seized Ron's broken wand, the spell backfires, erasing Lockhart's memory and causing a cave-in that separates Harry from Ron and Lockhart.
Harry enters the Chamber alone and finds Ginny unconscious, guarded by Riddle. Riddle turns out to be Slytherin's heir and Voldemort's younger self. He used the diary to manipulate Ginny into reopening the Chamber. After Harry expresses his loyalty to Dumbledore, the latter's pet phoenix Fawkes arrives with the Sorting Hat, causing Riddle to summon the basilisk. Fawkes blinds the basilisk, and the Sorting Hat produces the Sword of Gryffindor, with which Harry fights the basilisk. After a struggle, he kills it but is poisoned by one of its fangs.
Despite his injury, Harry stabs the diary with the basilisk fang, destroying Riddle and reviving Ginny. Fawkes' tears heal Harry, who returns to Hogwarts with his friends and a bewildered Lockhart, earning Dumbledore's praise and Hagrid's release. Harry accuses Lucius, Dobby's master, of planting the diary in Ginny's cauldron, and tricks him into freeing Dobby. The basilisk's victims are healed, Hermione reunites with Harry and Ron, and Hagrid is released from Azkaban.

Level Walkthrough[]
The Girls' Toilets[]
Approach the painting on the left side of the bathroom and use magic on it. The wizard will destroy the tiles blocking the entrance to the pipe. Switch to Ron and enter the tunnel with Scabbers. After getting to around the middle, switch to another character and use Wingardium Leviosa to unlock the further path. Then go back to Scabbers, press the red button and Devil's Snare will appear in the next cabin. Switch to another character once more and use Lumos Solem on them. Place the missing tunnel piece with Wingardium Leviosa and go down the flush with Wingardium Leviosa to unlock the passage. Switch to Scabbers and continue by pressing the red button. Head to the cabinet and chase the frog using Wingardium Leviosa. Use Wingardium Leviosa to connect the bricks into a plunger, equipped with a chair. Get on it and jump into the clogged toilet. You will get more blocks - connect them all using Wingardium Leviosa. Talk to the snake and jump down.
The Chamber of Secrets[]
Head left and use the plunger with Wingardium Leviosa on the creature that has appeared. Use the bricks left and create a platform with Wingardium Leviosa. After you get on it, the second character will lift you up. Go to the very end and put together the skeleton, which will start fishing and will catch the creature. This time it will be blowing upwards. Jump to the ledge on the right, assemble the bricks with Wingardium Leviosa and create a bridge. Summon the snake using Wingardium Leviosa, jump into its mouth and enter the pipe into the next area.
In the next area, you will come across the Basilisk. Run to the pile of rocks and wait until the rays coming out of its eyes stop shining - jump off and the Basilisk will hit the rocks. Repeat this with the other two piles. Each time you will find one ingredient of the Strengthening Potion behind the rocks. You will receive another one after talking to the snake. To get the next one, use Lumos Solem on the Devil's Snare and then Wingardium Leviosa on the box. The last one can be found in the chest - use Wingardium Leviosa on it and then smash up the snake. After drinking the Strengthening Potion, approach the chain on the left and pull it. Free the Phoenix, which will poke out the Basilisk's eyes. Now attack the Basilisk with magic. Attach the chains of the mechanism on the left with Wingardium Leviosa and jump inside.
You will end up near the Basilisk. Use Wingardium Leviosa on the Sorting Hat and it will spit out a large sword. Wait for the Basilisk to stop attacking and quickly jump into the tunnel. Grab the sword with Wingardium Leviosa and aim for the Basilisk to end the level.

Trivia[]
- The tube used to reach the ledge with the Basilisk is likely a reference to the Warp Pipes from Mario Bros., as both allow the player to reach ledges and places that would otherwise be impossible.
