Sand Central Station is the first level of LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, and the only level playable in the demo. In the level, players must defeat Sandman and Abomination, who have been hired by Doctor Doom to retrieve a Cosmic Brick at Grand Central Station.

Silver Surfer chase in the sky[]
- [Silver Surfer flies by, followed by Iron Man]
- [The S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier appears]
- Iron Man: Sorry, surfer-dude, but you're headed for a wipe-out.
- Nick Fury: [over call] Iron Man... I'm reading an incoming ship.
- Nick Fury: Watch out, it's about to open fire!
- [Iron Man shoots at the Doom Jet, and it fires a missile at Silver Surfer, knocking Iron Man back]
- Iron Man: Woah!
- [The pieces of Silver Surfer's broken surfboard fall]
- Nick Fury: Tony, are you alright?
- Iron Man: Ow, ow and more ow.
- Nick Fury: Hmm...
- [The surfboard pieces hit the ground]
Doctor Doom finds the pieces[]
- Doctor Doom: With these cosmic bricks, the world will be mine to rule! But first, I should probably prevent it from being destroyed.
- Loki: [Over call] this would have been much easier had you captured the board intact rather than blasting it to pieces.
- Doctor Doom: The Avengers showed up. They know how to ruin every good evil plan.
- Loki: Your plan is still...fantastic.
- Doctor Doom: A poor choice of words, God of Mischief. I prefer to think of it as 'spectacular.' Maybe 'stupendous.' I've hired every villain, bad guy and dark minion I could find to help assemble...DOCTOR DOOM'S DOOM RAY OF DOOM!
- Loki: Sort of a mouthful, but alright. Speaking of that...
- Doctor Doom: Silence! Now we must track down more of these Cosmic Bricks to build my weapon.
- Loki: As you command, oh most doom-full one.
Grand Central Station hostage[]
- Abomination: [Roars]
- Sandman: Alright! I let these big-wigs go, once you bring me some of those... uh... Cosmic Bricks!
- Abomination: Why didn't they make me the supervisor here? That guy's got sand for brains!
- [Iron Man flies to Grand Central Station]
- Iron Man: Holding Grand Central hostage at rush hour? Now that's criminal!
- [Iron Man lands on the street, followed by Hulk smashing in]
- Hulk: [Roars]
- Iron Man: Hulk, you have to remember to look... before you leap.
- [Abomination lands on the street]
- Abomination: [Roars]
- Hulk: [Roars]
- Iron Man: I know... bad guys. The S.H.I.E.L.D. folks think we need to formulate a careful plan of attack using...
- [Hulk runs forward]
- Iron Man: Or, we just smash our way in. Good plan.
Park Avenue[]
- [At the beginning of the level]
- Agent Coulson: [Over radio] welcome back to New York, gentlemen.
- Iron Man: Look at this mess! Didn't we just clean up this city?
- [Coulson calls over radio shortly after the start]
- Agent Coulson: [Over radio] Witnesses on the ground say Sandman's got hostages in the station!
- Hulk: SAND MAKE HULK MAAAAD!
- Iron Man: Just as well I charged my batteries this morning. I think it's going to be a long day.
- [When blowing up silver with Iron Man]
- Iron Man: Whoah! So that's what that button does...
- [When approaching the semi truck]
- Agent Coulson: [Over radio] Looks like you'll have to get past Abomination to get inside!
- [Abomination throws a car]
- Iron Man: He threw that car like it was some kind of toy! Big guy, you better handle this.
- [When fighting Abomination]
- Hulk: HULK ANGRY!
Entering the station[]
- [Abomination is thrown into a window, Iron Man and Hulk enter the building]
- Hulk: [Roars]
Inside the station[]
- [At the beginning]
- Sandman: I think I'll give you a hand... or two! Hahaha!
- Agent Coulson: [Over radio] There's sand everywhere... but this won't be a day at the beach!
- [After destroying the first sand hand]
- Sandman: You can't beat me! I've already won HANDS down! Hahaha!
- [When the sand train arrives]
- Sandman: We have an unscheduled arrival in the main terminal! Hahaha!
- Hulk: HULK HATE DELAYS!/Bruce Banner: I hate delays!
- [When the sand wall rises]
- Sandman: Looks like the writing's on the wall for you guys! Hahaha!
- Hulk: WALLS NOT GOOD! WALLS ONLY KEEP PEOPLE APART!/Bruce Banner: Walls are only good for keeping people apart...
- Iron Man: Profound...
- Iron Man: Huh! Least I know a good spot for beach volleyball next week.
- [When the sand castle appears]
- Sandman: Looks like I'm king of the castle, super-zeroes! Good luck getting past this!
- Iron Man: Well there's something you don't see every day, a large building I don't own yet.
Onto the roof[]
- [Iron Man and Hulk are blown onto the roof]
- Spider-Man: Wow, so much for taking the subway down to the Bugle. Guess I'll just have to fight my way through it.
- [Spider-Man lands and pulls Iron Man and Hulk down to the ground]
- Iron Man: Thanks for swinging by, Spider-Man.
- Spider-Man: You Avenger guys are are really great, at making a mess.
- [Spider-Man's spider-sense goes off, they all look up at Stark Tower, where Sandman's giant sand golem is destroying the logo of the tower]
- Iron Man: Hey! I just replaced that!
- [Sandman throws letters down at Grand Central Station's roof, then jumps down onto it]
The Rooftop[]
- [At the beginning]
- Spider-Man: I always knew there was a real buzz around your name, Tony, but this is taking things a little too far. We've gotta shut off the power.
- Iron Man: Pepper always says I get in my own way!
- [When approaching Sandman]
- Sandman: Seems like I've got my hands full with you!
- Iron Man: This guy doesn't give up! Let's find a way to take this thing down!
- [When spraying Sandman with water]
- Sandman: Oh no... I'm melting... MELTING! No, wait... I mean I'm solidifying... SOLIDIFYING... Oh, what a world... Noooo....!
- Spider-Man: I don't need this! I already have enough problems without getting sand in this costume!
- [After attacking Sandman with Hulk for the first time]
- Sandman: Argh! You think you can stop me? I'm not pulling anymore punches...
- Spider-Man: This guy's attacks are so fast! Talk about your quicksand, I've definitely got a sinking feeling right now.
- [When Sandman uses the sand hammer]
- Sandman: I hate to HAMMER a point home but you just won't take a hint!
- [After attacking Sandman with Hulk for the second time]
- Sandman: Grr! You got me that time but I'll still beat you to the PUNCH!
Sandman defeated[]
- Nick Fury: Secure that Cosmic Brick, Coulson. And make sure it gets to the Fantastic Four's lab for analysis.
- Agent Coulson: Yes, sir.
- Agent Coulson: Uh, Hulk, can you help with some of this debris?
- Iron Man: You're calling them Cosmic Bricks?
- Nick Fury: They came from the sky-surfer you encountered. I've given Reed Richards the job of finding out why everyone seems to want them. Thanks for your help, Spider-Man. There's always a place in this operation for a hero like you.
- Spider-Man: Like I have time for that. I've got a trigonometry exam tomorrow, my aunt needs me to pick-up a dozen eggs and I'm drowning in angst.
- Iron Man: So, who's behind all this? What exactly are they up to? And will it cut into my hot tub time?
- Nick Fury: I don't know - I wish I knew, and yes. Tony, get back to Stark Tower and try to get me some answers.

Story[]
When Sandman and Abomination held Grand Central Station hostage for a couple of cosmic bricks, (the Silver Surfer's broken up surfboard) Iron Man and Hulk arrived to stop them, but they were attacked by Abomination. Hulk managed to throw Abomination through a window, while Sandman used his powers in an attempt to block the heroes. He eventually transformed into a sand giant that caught Iron Man and Hulk in a sandstorm. Spider-Man saved them, however, and the three superheroes were able to solidify Sandman with water. S.H.I.E.L.D. then arrived and arrested Sandman and the Abomination. Iron Man asked Nick Fury about what is going on, but Nick wasn't so sure.
Walkthrough[]
Abomination[]
To get to Abomination, use Iron Man to break the fire hydrants further down on the highway to dissolve the sand covering the bus. The sand will turn into mud. Use Hulk to perform a Hulk Smash on the mud and pull on the green handles to pick up the bus, in which case it can be thrown off the highway. Agent Coulson tells you that you'll have to get past Abomination to get inside. Switch to Iron Man and blow up the silver bits on the two fire hydrants to make them spray water on the sand covering the bus. The sand will weaken and will reveal a green crack for Hulk to smash. Two green handles will be revealed. Use Hulk to pick up the bus and throw it aside. Switch to Iron Man and destroy the shiny part on the Roxxon truck ahead. Build the green handles required for Hulk to pull on the truck. Walk to Abomination, who is guarding Grand Central Station. Press the buttons on screen to defeat Abomination and a cutscene will play.
Grand Central Station Interior[]
Once you defeat Abomination and enter the building, two giant sand arms will appear. on the left, there is a piece of rubble. Use Hulk to throw the piece of rubble at one of the arms. On the right, there is a silver object to destroy using Iron Man. After doing so, it will reveal another piece of rubble for Hulk to throw at the other arm. Once you proceed further, a sand train will arrive and block the way forward. To get past it, defeat 25 sand goons. When a giant sand wall rises from the ground, blow up the silver globe on top of the information booth using Iron Man to build a water cannon. Use the cannon to spray the wall which will reveal a green crack for Hulk to smash. When getting close to Sandman, a giant sand castle with cannons will rise. To destroy it, destroy the silver scaffolding on the right with Iron Man. Build the blown up bits into an anvil, then use Hulk to throw it at the sand castle. A cutscene will play where Sandman blows Iron Man and Hulk onto the roof, and Spider-Man joins them to help defeat him.
Grand Central Station Rooftop[]
Destroy the silver gate to the left, then use Spider-Man to sense for a hook. Pull the hook to destroy the first generator. On the right, use Spider-Man again to sense for a wall to climb. Pull the hook on the satellite to make it fall down and break. Build the satellite pieces into something for Hulk to destroy the second generator with. Now that both generators are shut down, Spider-Man can now sense for two hooks on the giant letter A. Pull on the hooks to make the A fall over, making a way to get up to Sandman.
When you confront Sandman, he will throw a ball of sand which will conveniently land on a handrailing just above a hook for Spider-Man to attach a web to. Change Hulk to Bruce Banner and climb up the web. When you get to the top, transform back to Hulk and pull on the green handles to break the water tower. Rebuild the water tower into a water cannon, then use it to spray water at Sandman. Sandman will be weakened and a green crack for Hulk to smash will appear on him. Sandman will collapse before reappearing and shooting more balls of sand which will reveal another green crack for Hulk to smash. Build the pieces out of the destroyed object to create something for Hulk to throw at Sandman. He will collapse again revealing another green crack for Hulk to smash. He will preform an attack revealing a silver object for Iron Man to blow up. Pull the lever to fill the tank with some water. On the right, use Spider-Man to pull the hook which will reveal another lever. Pull that lever to completely fill the tank with water. Spider-Man will then be able to sense for a hook on top of the water container, which when pulled will spray more water at Sandman. He will fall over and a green crack will appear on his head. Smash the green crack and a cutscene will play, ending the level.
Collectables[]
S means that the collectible can be obtained both in Story and in Free Play. F means the collectible can only be obtained in Free Play.
- Minikit canisters
- (S) In the first area, before using Iron Man to turn the sand into mud, a sign can be destroyed on the left with a taxi or rock to get a minikit.
- (S) In the first area, three trash bins can be destroyed by any character to get another minikit when the bus is cleared from the highway.
- (F) In the first area, once a character capable of charging electricity has been unlocked, a shop on the right side of the highway can be opened up through an electricity panel, revealing the next minikit. The doors can be opened by a player capable of shooting webs.
- (F) Lastly, the final minikit obtainable before defeating Abomination can be unlocked using Wolverine to dig up a pizza delivery bike near the shop unlocked in the third minikit for this level. Drive the bike once it has been dug up and follow the studs to the pizza place, thereby causing a minikit to appear.
- (F) On the left balcony near the beginning of the second stage, there is a golden counterweight keeping the chandelier with the minikit from falling. Destroy the counterweight to drop the chandelier with the minikit inside.
- (F) This next minikit can be found to the right of the information booth inside the station. Use a character with Super Sense to reveal a golden patch on the water pipe. Melt the gold and the water will be released onto the ground below creating a sandcastle for Sandman to interact with, which doing so will reveal the minikit.
- (F) Under the left balcony, there is a gold wall. Melt the wall and activate the Claw Switch inside to open up the window to the left. Mind control the guy at the window and collect the minikit.
- (F) There is a clock at the front of the roof. Use telekinesis on it to reveal the minikit.
- (F) There are 5 gold fans on the roof. Destroy them all to obtain the minikit.
- (F) When you destroy the water tower, a puddle will remain. Freeze the puddle to create a slide. Slide down the slide and you will be rewarded with the final minikit.

- (S) On the left balcony inside the station, there is a vending machine that Stan Lee is stuck under. Destroy the vending machine to save him.
