Room of Requirement is the hub world in the handheld version of LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4.
Areas[]
First Floor[]
On the left side of the first floor, the player can buy things in the shop, while on the right side, they can create a custom character. There is also an hourglass in the center that indicates the playing time.
Second Floor[]
On the second floor, the player can access levels. On the left side, the player can also see the Minikit models.
Shop[]
The Shop is a shop located on the First Floor. It is directed by the Weasley twins. Here, the player can buy things that are shown below:
Characters[]
Here the player will be able to buy characters. Most of these characters are unlocked by finding their wizard card in a certain level, while others are unlocked by finding all the wizard cards in an episode. To see a list of all the characters that can be bought, what is their price and the requirement for when it is available see here.
Story Sequences[]
Here the player will be able to see each scene of the game. Each scene in the game is unlocked after watching it once.
Extras[]
Here the player can buy the fifteen extras in the game. Some of these extras are useful, while others are aesthetic spells. To see a list of all the extras that can be bought, what is their price and the requirement for when it is available see here.
Hints[]
Here the player will be able to buy hints that someone gives for new players. The following hints along with their price are shown below:

| 6 | Free Play contains secret areas and collectibles that cannot be accessed in Story Mode. | |
| 7 | Different characters have different abilities. You'll need to make use of everyone's abilities to find everything in Free Play. | |
| 8 | Objects with red outlines can be used in Free Play as long as you have the correct character in your party. | |
| 9 | You can talk to characters with icons above their heads. Touch them to start a conversation. | |
| 10 | Touch characters with gold markers above them to receive Quests. | |
| 11 | Characters with blue stars above them are important to current Quests. | |
| 12 | The map on the top screen will help you complete Quest objectives; head for the blue stars. | |
| 13 | Go to the green markers on the map to exit an area. | |
| 14 | Go to the gold markers on the map to receive Quests. | |
| 15 | Touch objects with green outlines to interact with them. | |
| 16 | Objects with purple outlines can be used by members of your party. | |
| 17 | Objects with red outlines can only be used by specific characters in Free Play. | |
| 18 | There are two Wizard Cards in each level but some can only be accessed in Free Play. | |
| 19 | There are five Wizard Hats in every level. One will be awarded when you achieve True Wizard status but some can only be reached in Free Play. | |
| 20 | Collect as many studs as you can in each level to achieve True Wizard status. | |
| 21 | Every 10 Wizard Hats you find will enable you to view a LEGO model in the Room of Requirement. | |
| 22 | There are fifteen Red Bricks hidden throughout the game. Red Bricks unlock special abilities (which can be purchased in the shop). | |
| 23 | Touch your character icon (at the top of the Touch Screen) to swap characters. | |
| 24 | You can quick swap between party members by pressing the R Button. | |
| 25 | Only strong characters can operate rotary handles. | |
| 26 | When your character grabs a rotary handle, you can draw circles on the Touch Screen to make them turn it. | |
| 27 | In the Goblin Plinth game, stay close to the green orb as it moves around the cogs. | |
| 28 | LEGO objects can be blown up with Reducto. Quickly slide the stylus toward the barrels to blow them up. | |
| 29 | To cast Reducto, quickly slide the stylus from your character to the target. | |
| 30 | Wizard Cards unlock characters for purchase in the shop. | |
| 31 | If you're in danger, try casting Stupefy by drawing a circle around your character. | |
| 32 | To cast Reparo, touch the pile of pieces and then copy the shape that appears. | |
| 33 | Copy the shapes that appear to cast spells. | |
| 34 | The owl icon will appear when you are near a Pet Spot. Touch it when it flashes. | |
| 35 | Some Wingardium Leviosa objects can be used as lifts. | |
| 36 | Touch the icon in the bottom right hand corner of the Touch Screen to mount the broomstick. | |
| 37 | To get off a broomstick, touch the icon in the bottom right hand corner of the Touch Screen. | |
| 38 | You can fly over water using a broomstick. | |
| 39 | You can fly over ramps and access high areas using a broomstick. | |
| 40 | You can't cast spells while flying a broom. | |
| 41 | Your map will show patrolling enemies and their fields of vision. Try and stay out of their sight. | |
| 42 | If you get too close to an enemy, or stay within their field of vision for too long, they will spot you! | |
| 43 | Touch where the blue arrows are pointing to jump. | |
| 44 | You can brew potions in cauldrons. | |
| 45 | You can squash potion ingredients with the hammer by touching them rapidly with your stylus. | |
| 46 | You can grind potion ingredients with the pestle by rapidly sliding your stylus backwards and forwards over them. | |
| 47 | You can slice potion ingredients by drawing vertical lines over them with your stylus. | |
| 48 | Make sure you stir your potion in the right direction. Stop stirring when your potion is the correct color. | |
| 49 | All potions held in your Inventory (other than dragon dung fertilizer) will be used automatically. | |
| 50 | When you have dragon dung fertilizer, you can touch Grow Spots to make things grow. | |
| 51 | Use the Invisibility Cloak to avoid characters that appear as red flashing dots on the map. | |
| 52 | You can put on the Invisibility Cloak by touching the Cloak icon when it appears on the bottom right of the Touch Screen. | |
| 53 | You can't cast spells while wearing the Invisibility Cloak. | |
| 54 | Certain characters can talk to snakes and Parseltongue objects. | |
| 55 | Hiss into the microphone when the snake icon appears at the bottom of the Touch Screen. | |
| 56 | If you have the Fire Protection Potion in your Inventory, you will be able to walk through fire. | |
| 57 | To cast Expelliarmus, quickly slide your stylus towards your opponent. | |
| 58 | After casting Revelio, slide the stylus around. Touch the hidden object when it starts to appear. | |
| 59 | The Patronus Charm is cast like Reducto; quickly slide your stylus towards the Dementor to cast at it. | |
| 60 | When a Patronus touches a Dementor, it will stun it. Touch the Dementor and copy the shape to finish it off. | |
| 61 | The Time-Turner can be used whenever you see a large yellow sparkle on the floor. | |
| 62 | To use the Time-Turner, move into the middle of the circle, touch the Time-Turner icon, then rotate the image that appears. | |
| 63 | Using the Time-Turner will temporarily send you back in time, enabling you to access areas or objects not available in the present. | |
| 64 | Ghosts can travel through certain gates. | |
| 65 | You can't cast Silly spells until you have found the Red Bricks that unlock them and purchased them in the shop. | |
| 66 | To switch between Silly spells, press the L Button and touch the spell you want to cast. | |
| 67 | Quickly slide your stylus towards friendly characters to cast Silly spells. | |
| 68 | You can create characters in the Character Customizer and play with them in Free Play levels. |
