Rookies is the twelfth level of LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars. It is the fifth level of General Grievous.

Story[]
Cody and Rex arrive and land on Rishi Moon, where they find a Commando Droid disguised as a clone. As they shoot him, they realize they have been tricked and several Commando Droids attack them. They decide to go under the walkway, where they save Echo, Hevy, and Fives from a Rishi Eel. When they enter the base and a Landing Craft arrives with many Battle Droids, the quintet uses Plunk Droids to try to destroy the base. To activate the explosives, Hevy grabs a remote control, only for it to then break. Therefore, instead of following his companions, Hevy decides to sacrifice himself to activate the explosives and destroy the base. Alerted, the Republic fleet jumps into the system and Grievous is forced to retreat as he is outgunned. A Republic Gunship arrives to return the quartet without Hevy to the Resolute.
Walkthrough[]
Start by shooting the Commando Droids that are standing on the platform. After dealing with the first group, a second one will appear and destroy your ship. Take revenge on your ship by quickly defeating them. Use the bricks from the ship to build a crane. Hold on to its end and start going down.
You will be attacked by a Rishi Eel. It will alternate between coming out of the cave above and the one the side. You have to aim at it with the pistol when its mouth is open. Fire three shots in that direction, thanks to which Rishi Eel will move to the left, deploying a bridge for you. Go to the other side. The Rishi Eel will attack here once again, but this time don't attack it with the blaster, instead use Echo's bazooka. After two accurate shots, it will be defeated and destroy fans for you to build stairs above it. Use the stairs to go up, stand on the button on the floor and shoot the panel that will be revealed. Use Hevy's machine gun to destroy the gold grate on the right. Then use the grappling hook on the grapple point and jump to the neighboring platform. Once again use the Hevy's machine gun to destroy the gold rocks. Go through the cave.
Once again you will arrive at the same landing zone you were in at the beginning, but you will be on the other side full of enemies. Use Echo's bazooka to destroy the silver boxes on the right (the one on the left will not contain anything to destroy it). Then assemble a brick Separatist panel, which will appear on the right side of the door. Start fighting the robots and at some point you will notice that TX-20 is immortal and its head keeps falling off. Pick it up off the ground when it does. Now approach the Separatist panel, activate it and enter. Walk down the hallway while eliminating Commando Droids. Note that some are equipped with melee weapons that deflect blaster shots. You must grab their weapons with the grappling hook before you can defeat them.
After reaching the round room, deal with the Commando Droids and a cutscene will play. After the cutscene, the area will split into two perspectives. From Hevy's perspective, move down the hallway while clearing the way with the machine gun. Once you exit, head to the large golden container on the left and destroy it. Start heading to the mail room. While driving the first Plunk Droid with explosives, start heading to the mail room. When you find a barrier that won't let you through, leave the Plunk Droid on an orange field and switch to Rex, Cody, Echo, and Fives' perspective. From Rex, Cody, Echo, and Fives' perspective, repair the device next to the left wall. Pull the lever on the device you repaired to open the door on the left. Enter the hallway and use Echo's bazooka to destroy the container above the door. Afterwards grapple it. After dealing with the Commando Droid, enter the second Plunk Droid with explosives and place it on one of the orange fields. Go up the stairs with one of the soldiers and destroy all the panels. Push the generator from right to left. Stand next to the lever and pull it. A door will open at the bottom left. Enter the hallway, destroy the "iron" door with Echo's bazooka, and deal with the Commando Droid. Jump to the third Plunk Droid with explosives, return with it to the main room and stand on the next orange field. When two of the orange fields activate, the barrier that Hevy couldn't get through will disappear. After said barrier disappears and Hevy can join the others, use the first Plunk Droid with explosives to place it on the last orange field and the level will end.
Collectables[]
S means that the collectible can be obtained both in Story and in Free Play. F means the collectible can only be obtained in Free Play.
- Minikit Canisters
- (F) The first minikit can be obtained by covering the holes in the pipes where the steam comes out.
- Start your search from the place where you find the second minikit. The first valve is to the left of the iron gate and the steamer is next to it, beyond the rocks. Use the Force to move it towards the steam above and you will cover the hole.
- On the left platform (with a button on the ground) you will find the second valve.
- Now go a little further to the right. There will be another valve there. Then use it to fix the hole above you.
- Once you reach the round room, approach the control panel in the middle. So, use the valve to fix the pipe on the right.
- The last broken pipe can be found on the jacuzzi platform, where the tenth minikit is hidden. The valve and steam are located just above the inlet. Fix the hole and return to the round room to find the minikit floating in the upper right corner.
- (F) Right at the beginning of the level, destroy the large brick barricade and open the large black box with the Force. Use the falling pieces to build a Gloop Gatherer. Enter it and drive through the six green stains on the ground. As a reward, the second minikit will appear next to the box.
- (F) After winning the first fight with Rishi Eel, do not cross to the other side, but shoot the silver bricks blocking the second tunnel with an explosive character. You can now enter with a double jump character like Jar Jar Binks. Inside the small room you will find three children's toys. Set them in motion with the grappling hook and you'll get the following minikit.
- (F) At the place where the first worm fight took place, use the Sith Force on the collapsed tunnel. Go inside and you will come to a small room with eggs. Use the Force to pick them up and move towards the purple plates in the middle and then use the nearby electrical panel as Robonino or MagnaGuard. Small worms will hatch from the eggs and the fourth minikit will appear nearby.
- (F) After the second fight with Rishi Eel, use a lightsaber and burn the metal hatch blocking one of the tunnels. Inside you will find a young monster. Using the Force, feed it with the minikit pieces lying on the ground and in return it will spit out a complete minikit.
- (F) Once the fight with Rishi Eel is over, you will reach a place with metal platforms. On one of them there will be an electrical panel that you can use with Robonino or MagnaGuard. Activate it and another one will appear, this time for an astromech droid like R2-D2. When used, the sixth minikit will appear.
- (S) To get this minikit, you need use the grappling hook on five grappling points inside the small blue covers.
- To get the first one, switch to the character next to the Landing Craft and go as far south as possible. The small blue cover you are looking for is on the right edge of the location.
- The second is inside the hallway on the left, behind the iron box.
- The next one can be found at the north end of the round room with the control panel. Go up the stairs and find the blue boxes on the right.
- In the round room with the control panel, go to the south hallway. To the right, there will be a small blue cover on the wall. Destroy it and pull the grappling point with the grappling hook.
- The latter is hidden on the left, behind a laser barrier. Destroy it and the minikit will appear.
- (S) On the walkway where there are many Battle Droids, go to the south corridor. To the left will be a golden box. Destroy it with a rapid fire character and do the same with a similar box in the north. In front of it, on the right side, you will find three more boxes. The last one is in the northwest corner of the location, to the left of the droid ship. Destroy all six to reveal the minikit.
- (F) Continue through the level and you will reach a round room with a control panel. On its north side is a box that you can destroy with the Sith Force. Do so and enter the unlocked passage. That way you will reach a hidden platform, where there is a radio tower. Pull the lever and switch the character to the other side of the well. There is also a tower there and next to it you will find the minikit. Pick it up.
- (F) On the southern part of the same platform, like Robonino or MagnaGuard, use the electrical panel there and jump into the hot tub to get the minikit.
- (F) The first minikit can be obtained by covering the holes in the pipes where the steam comes out.
Unlockables[]
Darth Maul (Classic) will be available to purchase after obtaining all minikits in this level. After completing the level, you unlock Commander Cody (unless you have completed Legacy of Terror or The Hidden Enemy), Echo, Hevy and Fives. In The Resolute you can buy a Clone Pilot. You will also be able to continue to Grievous Intrigue.
