Rescue the Princess is the third level in the Nintendo DS version of LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy. It is the third level of A New Hope.

RESCUE THE PRINCESS

Imprisoned in the Death Star,

Princess Leia still refuses to

reveal the location of the

Rebel Base to the evil Darth

Vader.

Meanwhile, Luke Skywalker

and Obi-Wan Kenobi have

commissioned Han Solo to

take them to Leia's home

planet of Alderaan. Escaping

from Imperial Forces on

Tatooine, they make the jump

through hyperspace.

But Alderaan has disappeared,

its population a victim of

Darth Vader's impatience -

and in its place, they find only

the deadly shadow of the

Death Star...

Story

However, they soon discover that Alderaan has been destroyed thanks to the Death Star's superlaser. The Millennium Falcon is then attracted by a tractor beam, forcing the pilots to land on the Death Star. On the Death Star, Luke and Han steal the armor of two Stormtroopers and use them to sneak into the cell block. Halfway there, they are helped by Obi-Wan, who turns off the tractor beam. In the cell block, Luke, Han and Chewie find Leia in the last cell on the right side. Leia then takes the blaster to Han, shoots two Stormtroopers, and then they all jump into a garbage chute.

Walkthrough

You start in a hallway in the control room. Go to the door ahead, defeat two Imperial Officers, and use a hat dispenser on the right side of the room to put on a Stormtrooper helmet. Then, use the Imperial panel on the door in the upper right corner to open it and go through a hallway full of Stormtroopers. With a helmet on, the Stormtroopers won't attack you unless you attack them, which will make the level easier. In the next room, go to the door ahead to enter the next area.

In the next area, continue straight down the hallway until you reach the main room. Then, go right sneaking past the Stormtroopers (if you have a helmet on) until you reach a door to reach the next area.

In the next area, you'll see a cutscene where Obi-Wan will turn off the tractor beam and use his Force to build a bridge for you. Cross the bridge and go to the door ahead to proceed to the next area.

In the next area, go through the hallways through the doors ahead until you reach a room with a massive pit. Go right and jump across the platforms on the left until you reach a grapple point. Use a blaster to reach a high platform, then use the blaster again to reach another high platform. Then go left, jump to a platform ahead, and then sneak down the hallways (if you have a Stormtrooper helmet). Finally, head to an elevator ahead to reach the final area of ​​the level.

In the final area, build two panels and pull two levers to open a door. Make sure you have a Stormtrooper helmet to sneak past, and in the cell hallway, pull two levers on the last cell on the right side to find Leia. Walk towards her to play a cutscene and end the level.

Collectables

S means that the collectible can be obtained both in Story and in Free Play. F means the collectible can only be obtained in Free Play.

• Minikit Canisters
  1. (F) At the beginning of the level, you will see a door made of pieces on the left wall. Use a Jedi character to turn it into a object and find this minikit behind it.
  2. (S) In the second room of the first area, you will find this minikit on the left side.
  3. (F) In the first room of the first area, you will find an astromech panel on the far left. Use an astromech droid on it to open a door to another room. There, go to the door on the right and as you go through a hallway, you will see a hatch on the right wall. Go in there with a small character to find this minikit in a small room. If your character can't reach the minikit, try switching to a tall one.
  4. (S) At the end of the second area, you will find this minikit on the far right, before entering the door that leads to the third area.
  5. (F) From the place where you got the third minikit, return to the hallway and go to the door ahead to reach a special room. You'll find some floor panels here, though they'll be useless if you step on them all. Go to the door ahead and you will find a gap. Cross it with a hover character (at which point a bridge will extend) and then use an astromech droid to open a door to a special area. There, head to the door on the right side and you will reach the platform on the left side of the third area, where you will get this minikit if you go a little to the right. (This can be very difficult to see due to the awkward camera.) It is also possible to obtain this minikit from the southern platform by standing on some invisible railings and then using a hover character to reach the platform on the left.
  6. (F) From the place where you got the previous minikit, go back to the special area, but this time now go to the left side while jumping platforms with a double jump character. Next, go through the hallway on the left (the functional valves are useless other than giving studs), and then go to the hallway on the left. There, go through it and you will reach the fourth area via a high ledge, where you will find this minikit on a platform to the left. Use a double jump character to reach it.
  7. (S) You will find this minikit in the middle of the last room of the fourth area.
  8. (S) In the final area, pull two levers on the second cell door on the right side to find this minikit.
  9. (S) In the final area, pull two levers on the second cell door on the left side to find this minikit.
  10. (S) In the final area, pull two levers on the last cell door on the left side to find this minikit.

Unlockables

After completing the level, you unlock Stormtrooper Han and Stormtrooper Luke. 4-LOM will be unlocked after obtaining all minikits in this level. In Mos Eisley Cantina you can buy a TIE Fighter Pilot. You will also be able to continue to Death Star Escape.

Trivia

• In the second room of the first area, if the player builds the panels in the lower left corner, they will see an 8-bit version of a Star Wars: Episode V — The Empire Strikes Back scene.
• In the final area, if the player is in Free Play, they can see a cutscene where Leia and a Stormtrooper (probably female) chase each other through doors.
  • In version 1.0, a glitch could occur that would cause characters to not appear, but the game would not crash, so the player can continue with the level when the cutscene ends.
• Sometimes, a glitch may occur that would make TIE Fighter Pilot unpurchasable until you pass this level in Free Play.
