Arrival at LEGO City[]
- Journalist: [off-screen] A warm welcome to all you listeners who've just tuned in. You're listening to the sizzlin' sounds of LEGO City Radio and let me tell you that the forecast for today is hot. Hot. HOT!
- [The camera pans to Bluffbeard's ship. The TT Games and TT Fusion logos appear. The camera then pans to the inside of the ship's bridge]
- Chase McCain: There she is... LEGO City!
- [The camera pans to LEGO City and the game logo appears. The camera pans to various locations until returning to Chase]
- Chase McCain: [off-screen] It's been two years since I was sent away. [on screen] But it made me a better cop. A smarter, faster cop.
- Captain Bluffbeard: [off-screen] Aaar... [on screen] So, what brings you back here, Chase McCain?
- [Chase begins to have a flashback with a young Natalia]
- Chase McCain: An old acquaintance. A promise to keep. A debt of honor to be repaid.
- Captain Bluffbeard: I meant "business or pleasure"?
- [The flashback ends]
- Captain Bluffbeard: I have to fill in yer paperwork.
- [The ship begins to head towards LEGO City]
- Chase McCain: [off-screen] Maybe neither. [on screen] Maybe both.
- Captain Bluffbeard: Yeah, I really do have to tick one of the boxes.
- [The ship begins to crash into the Auburn docks]
- Chase McCain: Oooh!
- Captain Bluffbeard: Wooaah!
- [Samson Crow and Violet de Burgh stand in the upper corner of the ship. Bluffbeard takes up the mutiny again]
- Captain Bluffbeard: Don't worry! That'll buff right out!
- [Bluffbeard turns the mutiny to the left, causing the fall of Samson Crow and Violet de Burgh]
- Violet de Burgh: Wah!
- Samson Crow: My love will go on!
- [Miles Rebar begins to capsize from the ship]
- Miles Rebar: [Wilhelm scream]
- [A Surfer manages to catch Miles]
- Captain Bluffbeard: And with the skill of an old sea-dog, I slide her smoothly into port.
- [The ship positions itself in the port of Auburn, while civilians scream]
- Captain Bluffbeard: And what brings you to LEGO City, young lady?
- Bryony Muska: Err... This boat?
- Captain Bluffbeard: Ooh! Fiddlepants!
- [Chase looks at Mayor Gleeson]
- Chase McCain: Mayor Gleeson!
- Mayor Gleeson: Thank you so much for coming back, Chase. I know it can't have been easy for you.
- Chase McCain:I had to get a new passport.
- Mayor Gleeson: I was referring to you leaving under a cloud, but ok... [off-screen] ...I'll get straight to the point. [on screen] Rex Fury has escaped and is at large in LEGO City.
- Chase McCain: What?! Is Natalia ok?
- Mayor Gleeson: Natalia's fine, she's still in witness protection.
- Chase McCain: I have to speak to her!
- Mayor Gleeson: I'll get you her number. But if you really want to protect Natalia, find Rex Fury and bring him to justice...again. [She starts heading to her limousine] Chase, this city is in the grip of a crime wave.
- Chase McCain: Really?
- Mayor Gleeson: Yes... Look.
- [The limousine is destroyed]
- Guard: Hey!
- Mayor Gleeson: [off-screen] And I'm certain Rex Fury is behind it. You're the only person I trust to stop him, Chase! Get to the station! [on screen] And get me Rex Fury!
- [Gleeson leaves in her destroyed limousine]
Meeting Frank[]
- [Frank carries boxes of donuts]
- Chase McCain: Hey! D'you need help with those donuts?
- [Frank hears Chase, makes him turn around and drop the boxes of donuts]
- Frank Honey: No, I'm okay thanks. I'm Frank Honey, by the way.
- Chase McCain: Chase... Chase McCain.
- Frank Honey: Chase McCain?! You're a legend!
- [Chase waves his hand]
- Frank Honey: Is it true that you brought down Rex Fury?
- Chase McCain: [off-screen] Just part of the team. [on screen] Deputy Dunby made the actual arrest. [He kicks a donut] And I'm not a legend, I'm an ordinary cop. Just like you, Honey.
- Frank Honey: Whooooooooooooa! Ho ho ho!
- Chase McCain: Well, maybe not just like you. So, you wanna show me around this new station of yours?
- Frank Honey: It would be my honor. I will wait for you...inside.
- Chase McCain: Ohhh-kaaay.
- [Chase manages to rearrange the boxes of donuts that Frank knocked over]
Calling Natalia[]
- [At the police station, Chase starts calling Natalia on the phone. At the hospital, when the ambulance arrives to take Sam Penn, Natalia answers Chase]
- Natalia Kowalski: Hello?
- Chase McCain: Natalia?
- Natalia Kowalski: Ch...Chase McCain?!
- Chase McCain: Yeah, it's me. Are you okay?
- Paramedic: Charged!
- Natalia Kowalski: What do you THINK YOU'RE DOING!? YOU CAN'T CALL ME! I'M IN WITNESS PROTECTION! ...Witness protection!
- Chase McCain: I was worried - Rex is out! I thought he might come after you!
- Natalia Kowalski: I know, but he's not after me. The Chief of Police himself told me that Rex fled the city.
- Chase McCain: What?! The Mayor just told me he was still here!
- Natalia Kowalski: What?!
- Paramedic: Should I...?
- Natalia Kowalski: Uh... Yeah... [She throws the electrical parts at the paramedic, electrocuting him]
- Paramedic: O-o-o-o-o-oooh!
- Chase McCain: I just want to make sure you're safe.
- Natalia Kowalski: You're the reason I got into this mess in the first place!
- Chase McCain: Where are you?
- Natalia Kowalski: I'm not telling you that!
- Hospital Secretary: [off-screen] Natalia Smith to Mercy Hearts reception, please.
- Chase McCain: Mercy Hearts Hospital?
- Natalia Kowalski: [off-screen] No! ...Yes, but don't bother coming here because if Rex could come after me, then [on screen] I'm not sticking around! [She cuts off her call with Chase]
- Chase McCain: Rex...
Exploded Computer[]
- Ted Baxter: Are you sure that's safe, Frank?
- Frank Honey: Of course it's -
- [The computer explodes]
- Ted Baxter: Waargh! Eurgh...
- Frank Honey: Hey there! This is our main compuper. It doesn't usually smoke like this.
- Ted Baxter: It got hacked into this morning. Triggered a security alert and locked down the elevator... But it only blew up when Frank tried repairing it.
- Frank Honey: With a hammer!
Repaired Computer[]
- Computer: Main computer operational. Security lockdown lifted. Elevator functionality restored.
- Ted Baxter: Hey, not bad! I'll try and find out who hacked it...
- Frank Honey: Ooh, if you get stuck, I'll help you. I know everything about compupers.
- Ted Baxter: Computers.
- Frank Honey: Ye-es. Compupers. Basement time!
Meeting the new Police Chief[]
- [Marion Dunby exits the elevator, along with two police officers]
- Marion Dunby: Fine, Madam Mayor, I'll brief the officers on Rex, but I still say he's long gone from here! Meddling fool! Making me hire some specialist she's brought in from overseas... [He notices Chase; off-screen] CHASE McCain!?
- Chase McCain: [off-screen] DUNBY!? [on screen] You're the new Police Chief!?
- Marion Dunby: Ugh... Right! I might not like giving you a job, McCain, but it does mean you have to follow my orders. First one - get down to the basement and get a uniform on!
- Frank Honey: Are you two old friends?
- Marion Dunby: Honey! Did you put those essential supplies on my desk?
- Frank Honey: Yes, Chief!
- Marion Dunby: [off-screen] I'm going to my office. [on screen] I'll be giving a briefing on Rex Fury in ten minutes even though he's probably a million miles from here away by now! Do not disturb me!
- [Dunby uses his tablet to ruin a policewoman's job of piecing together discarded sheets. He then goes upstairs to his office]
- Chase McCain: Wow...
- Frank Honey: Yeah! He does seem in a better mood today. C'mon, let's get you a uniform.
- [Frank and Chase use the elevator to go to the basement]
Basement Sample[]
- Frank Honey: This is our basement. I'll give you a tour! [He heads to the Vehicle Requisition Area]
- [If the player takes too long following Frank]
- Frank Honey: C'mere! Helloooo? Come over here! I'm waiting, Chase! Chase? CHAAAAAA-(Breathes)-AAAAAAAAAASE! Aw c'mon! Aww.. Hurry up! Fine! Maybe I don't want you to come over here... Aw, I totally do, please come over! Chase? I'm bored. That's it, I'm going to count to ten! Four-oh no that's not right. Hurry up! It's almost my naptime! Snake? Snake? SNAAAAKE! We gotta go! Coo-ee! My waving arm is getting tired! You're taking too long! I wish I'd brought a book... Then I could throw it at you to get your attention. I'm lonely!
- [When you arrive at the Vehicle Requisition Area]
- Frank Honey: Chuck's vehicle request desk is in there. When you start, they only let you use one type of car. But if you're good at your job, you'll be able to get loads more!
- Chase McCain: Yeah? How many types do you have, Frank?
- Frank Honey: Well, we should probably move on now. [He heads to the elevator]
- [When you get to the elevator]
- Frank Honey: The lift up to those rooms is out of action. Chuck says it's for our own safety because a monster lives up there. Ha!
- Chase McCain: Haha! A monster!
- Frank Honey: Yeah! Hahahahaha! Please don't let it eat me. [He heads to the Evidence Locker]
- Chase McCain: Er... Sure, Frank.
- [When you get to the Evidence Locker]
- Chase McCain: What's behind this door?
- Frank Honey: Oh! We'll come back to here. It's special. C'mon! Let's find you a uniform. We had a delivery this morning so there should be one somewhere. [He heads to the stairs and pushes the boxes to ruin a station worker's job]
Becoming a Police[]
- Frank Honey: When I started I had to use a hand-me-down from another office. I looked pretty good in a dress.
- [When trying to destroy the boxes]
- Frank Honey: Check inside those boxes!
- [By destroying the three boxes]
- Frank Honey: Why is it that all furniture is self-assembly these days?
- [When putting on the police suit]
- Frank Honey: Hey! Looking good! Now you've got your uniform, I'll show you the special place. It's the requisitions desk. I hope Ellie's in...
Meeting Ellie[]
- Frank Honey: Ellie! You in there?
- Ellie Phillips: [off-screen] Is that you, Frank Honey? Gimme a minute!
- Frank Honey: This is the requisitions desk and evidence locker. The girl who runs it is called...Ellie Phillips.
- Ellie Phillips: [off-screen] Hey there!
- Frank Honey: Eep. Oh, I had no idea you were in.
- Ellie Phillips: You just spoke to me.
- [An insect is heard flying by]
- Chase McCain: Hi there. I'm Chase.
- Frank Honey: Yeah! It's the guy you told me about - Chase McCain!
- Ellie Phillips: [on screen] Well it's nice to meet you, Chase McCain. [off-screen] My uncle Duke told me all about you and that Rex Fury case a few years back.
- Chase McCain: Oh yeah...?
- Ellie Phillips: Don't worry. There's a few of us in the station know you did all the real work on it.
- Chase McCain: Phew! Ahem?
- Ellie Phillips: This is a police communicator. [She places the communicator on the desk] It does everythin' your old phone did and a whole lot more includin' keeping me up to date with what yer doin'.
- [Chase grabs the communicator]
- Ellie Phillips: You'll need to connect it to the main computer in the lobby before you can use it. You think you can help Chase do that for me, Honey?:
- Frank Honey: Uh-huh! Uh-huh!
- Ellie Phillips: [off-screen] Good boy! [on screen] And I'll give you a call once you're hooked up, Chase. [She winks]
- [If the player sticks around]
- Ellie Phillips: Sorry. I've got some evidence from a robbery at a bakery to file away. If I don't the chief will eat it. I'll give you a call once you get your communicator connected up. Remember, the main computer is in the lobby. What are you waiting for? Frank will show you the way. I'll talk to you later.
Returning to the Lobby[]
- Frank Honey: C'mon! I'm holding the elevator!
Using the Computer[]
- [The elevator opens]
- Frank Honey: This way, Chase!
- [When you approach the computer]
- Frank Honey: I'm by the main compuper! There you are! Go on, use the main compuper!
- [When starting to use the computer]
- Computer: Communicator connected. Updating. One percent complete.
- Chase McCain: Ugh. Progress bars...
- Policewoman 1: Hey, Frank, someone needs to wake the Chief up.
- Marion Dunby: [sleeping] ...I work too hard...
- Policeman: Well, I'm not waking him up. He'll fire me again.
- Policewoman 2: I didn't wanna get briefed on Rex Fury anyway...
- Policewoman 1: You still got the key to his office?
- Frank Honey: It's right here in my hand, isn't it?
- Policewoman 1: No.
- Frank Honey: Oh. Then I've lost it.
- Computer: One hundred percent complete.
- Chase McCain: I'll help you find it... The sooner he's awake, the sooner I can start doing actual police work...
- Frank Honey: Thanks!
Communicator Test[]
- [When using the communicator]
- Ellie Phillips: Hey, Chase, you got the communicator working!
- Chase McCain: Yeah. But now I have to help Frank find a key he lost.
- Ellie Phillips: No problem - I updated the software on your communicator and enabled its scanner. Its screen will show stuff you wouldn't be able to see otherwise.
- Frank Honey: Like ghosts!
- Ellie Phillips: I told you, that was your reflection, Frank.
- Chase McCain: Thanks, Ellie. [He cuts the call and hides his communicator]
- Frank Honey: I'll never forget his weird, googly eyes... Brr!
Waiting for Dunby[]
- [When going to Dunby's door while the office is closed]
- Policeman: If you're looking for donuts, then they're in the chief's office. Well, they were.
- Policewoman 2: You're gonna wake up the Chief!? Ok, after you're done with that I've got a hornets' nest that needs whacking with a stick.
- Frank Honey: Ooh! I wanna do that! I've done it before... Although I thought that one was a pinata...
- [When finding the key]
- Frank Honey: Hey! You found it! I'll let you wake him up, I've got some important work to do... Video game time! Woo-hoo!
- [Upon entering Dunby's office]
- Chase McCain: C'mon! You have to give the briefing! WAKE UP!
- Marion Dunby: [sleeping] ...don't wanna...
- Chase McCain: Okay, then let's try a really loud noise!
Police Meeting[]
- Marion Dunby: [He wakes up to loud music] Oh! Ah... Who's that?! Oh, er... I was just resting my eyes...and my arms and my legs. [He notices Chase] Oh...Ah! It's you again... Fine! BRIEFING ROOM! ONE MINUTE!
- [The scene changes to the elevator opening in the briefing room. Several police characters come out to begin their meeting with Dunby]
- Marion Dunby: Come on, settle down, people! [He takes a donut out of his left cheek]
- Policeman: Hey, Harry, how many coffees have you had?
- Shaky Harry: Yeah, I know what you're thinking. Did I have six shots, or only five? Well...
- Policeman: Okay, you've had enough.
- Marion Dunby: Right, I'm gonna take this from the top. The mayor thinks we should be looking for this man... [The scene changes to a projector showing a photo of Rex Fury] ...Rex Fury.
- Frank Honey: [off-screen] He's a giant!
- Marion Dunby: Rex somehow escaped from Albatross Island three months ago, although we still have no idea how. But that's not important... ...what is important is that you catch up...
- [A cleaner begins to interrupt Dunby's dialogue with the sound of her vacuum cleaner. She then turns off her vacuum cleaner]
- Marion Dunby: So, make a note of that! Now, Rex Fury has been a habitual criminal since he was six years old. [The scene changes to the projector now showing a photo of police chasing Rex when he was six years old]
- Dr Whatsit: Good heavens! At that age, he would have still been in preschool!
- Doorlock Homes: Elementary, my dear follow.
- Marion Dunby: We got our break when a secret witness came forward. Well, secret until somebody accidentally gave their identity away.
- [Chase is shocked to reveal that Natalia was the one who accidentally showed her secret identity and to see that he is on the projector]
- Marion Dunby: Natalia's testimony enabled us to arrest Rex. He tried getting away but foolishly chose a lawn mower as his escape vehicle.
- [The scene cuts to a brief flashback of Rex using a lawn mower to escape the police]
- Guard: Pull the lawn mower over!
- [The flashback ends]
- Marion Dunby: His other mistake was in doubting the ability of the man who finally arrested him... Me!
- [The scene changes to the projector now showing a photo of Dunby letting Rex escape broadcast by LEGO City News]
- Marion Dunby: If Rex is behind the crime wave, then he needs to be back behind bars. So, to help catch whoever's behind it, I've had security cameras installed at key locations... [The scene changes to the projector now showing security cameras] The museum... [It changes cameras] ...Forrest Blackwell's mansion... [It changes cameras] ...and, of course... ...the banks. [He realizes that the clown robbers are robbing the bank] What the...?! [He is forced to end the meeting] BRIEFING'S OVER! EVERYONE GET TO THE BANK!
- [The police officers get up from their seats and quickly run towards the bank]
- DaMumbo: Oh, uh, just one more thing, Chief...
- [Dunby throws a bitten donut at DaMumbo]
Mark Test[]
- Frank Honey: You ready to fight some crime, Chase? Remember, even though there's a crime in progress, we still have to drive responsibly.
- Chase McCain: Of course!
- Frank Honey: [He hops into a Squaddie and spins around before driving off] LAST ONE THERE HAS TO BUY ALL THE CHIEF'S DOUGHNUTS FOR A MONTH! [Laughs]
- [Chase pulls out his communicator to call Ellie]
- Ellie Phillips: Hey, Chase, I've updated your communicator again and turned on the navigation system. You can use it to find your way around LEGO City. I've marked the location of Cherry Tree Bank on it with a police shield. If you wanna see the best way to drive somewhere, just press and hold the location on your communicator's screen. Go on! Give it a try! [After marking the location on the map] That's perfect! Now just follow the green line and it'll take you straight there!
Wrong Way[]
- [After answering the communicator]
- Frank Honey: Chase?
- Chase McCain: Yes, Honey?
- Frank Honey: I've gone the wrong way. Can we call that bet off, please?
Clown Robbers Carrying Out Crimes[]
- [Police arrive at Cherry Tree Bank]
- Marion Dunby: Come out with your hands up!
- [A group of clown robbers emerge from the bank doors]
- Marion Dunby: What the...? Clowns?!
- [Chase arrives and notices that three clown robbers are causing crimes]
- Marion Dunby: Get after that joker!
- [Chase hops on a Squaddie to chase Max in a van]
Max Arrested[]
- [When arresting Max]
- Clown Robber Max: You won't get away with this! The crooks run this town now!
- Chase McCain: Not for much longer!
Lou Being Seen[]
- [Upon receiving a message from Ellie]
- Ellie Phillips: Chase, can you give me an update?
- Chase McCain: Yeah, I just arrested the getaway driver.
- Ellie Phillips: Great work! And good timing, because we just had a report from someone near The Red Cafe. They spotted a clown heading onto its rooftop. Could be one of our bad guys.
- Chase McCain: Either that or I'm about to ruin some kid's birthday party. I'm on my way. [He cuts the call] Now where did I put my police-issue whistle? One blow of that should get the traffic to stop for me.
Updated Scanner[]
- Chase McCain: Everyone - can I get your attention? Is anyone here a bank robbing clown? [Nobody answers] Ah well, didn't think it'd be that easy. I better check in with Ellie. [He calls Ellie via communicator] Ellie, there's no sign of a clown up here.
- Ellie Phillips: Don't worry - I've just updated your communicator's scanning software. Use it to have a look around from the restaurant's rooftop and it'll show up anyone nearby who might be a robber.
- Chase McCain: And then?
- Ellie Phillips: You arrest them?
Farm Worker Producer[]
- Farm Worker Bill: Oh let's get ter' makin' this gray old place a little more purdy. [Laughs] That's more like it! Bee-utiful! Even if I do say so myself. Officer.
Chasing Lou[]
- Clown Robber Lou: Whoa! Almost got me there, mister! Nyer-nyer-nya-nyer-nyer! Whatcha doin' down there, eh?
- [When going left]
- Clown Robber Lou: Can't you jump this high?
- Chase McCain: You're making it very difficult for me to stay professional, y'know!
- [When you reach the top ledge]
- Clown Robber Lou: Wuh-oh! See ya!
- [Upon arrival at the plant]
- Clown Robber Lou: Hey Jack, why don't you climb this here beanstalk? [He destroys the plant] Aw, sorry! I busted it!
- [Upon arrival at the ledge]
- Chase McCain: Come out with your paws up!
- Clown Robber Lou: Aw, dang it! Stop chasin' me! Quit runnin' after me! I'm an innocent clown!
Lou Arrested[]
- [When arresting Lou]
- Chase McCain: Right - we can do this the easy way, or the hard way.
- Clown Robber Lou: Um... I'll take the easy way! I heard one of the other guys say he was gonna jump on a cargo ship if the robbery went bad. So, do I get nice cell, now?
- Chase McCain: Uh... Sure. Wow. That really was the easy way.
Wes Being Seen[]
- [Upon receiving a message from Ellie]
- Ellie Phillips: Chase, did you find the robber?
- Chase McCain: Wow, your timing is uncanny! Yeah, he's in custody. It looks like one of the other robbers is at the docks.
- Ellie Phillips: You want to arrest that guy, too?
- Chase McCain: Uh, let me just check my calendar...
- Ellie Phillips: Give me a call once you've got him. [She cuts the call]
Finding Wes[]
- [After locating Wes]
- Chase McCain: Aw, great. How am I gonna get in there?
- [After reaching the first Harbor Worker]
- Harbor Worker 1: Whoa, hey! Officer! Can you do me a solid? I need to get that gate open.
- Chase McCain: It would be my pleasure.
- Harbor Worker 1: Great! Follow me. [He gets on a forklift]
- [After climbing the boxes and being helped by the Harbor Worker]
- Harbor Worker 1: Go through the door up there! And don't tell the foreman we did this!
- [After pulling the lever to open the dock doors]
- Harbor Worker 1: Heeey! Thanks, man! And remember - not a word to the foreman...
- [After reaching the second Harbor Worker]
- Harbor Worker 2: It took it! Right outta my hand!
- Chase McCain: Uh, excuse me? Can you tell me how I get onto that cargo ship?
- Harbor Worker 2: Easy! I just whistle and Larry in the crane will give you a lift.
- Chase McCain: Great!
- Harbor Worker 2: Which I will gladly do once my lunch break is over.
- Chase McCain: Okay...
- Harbor Worker 2: Which will be never... ...BECAUSE A LOUSY SEAGULL STOLE MY SAMWICH!
- Chase McCain: I'll go and find it for you.
- Harbor Worker 2: You'll know it's my samwich as it is approximately the size of a samwich. If it has cucumber in it...then that is not my samwich. [After finding the sandwich] Gimme that sandwich you flying rat!
- [After giving the sandwich to the second Harbor Worker]
- Chase McCain: It looks a bit grass.
- Harbor Worker 2: My samwich! ... My samwich... [After eating it, he burps] Larry! Give this guy a lift onto the ship!
- Larry: Sure thing, boss!
Chasing Wes[]
- Clown Robber Wes: Gah! The police!
- Chase McCain: Not just any police - I'm on a roll today!
- Clown Robber Wes: You'll never catch me! You ain't ever catchin' me!
- [After Wes is arrested, the chapter ends]
Story[]
It begins after the opening cutscene of Chase McCain returning to LEGO City after two years of being away. He reminisces about himself and Natalia Kowalski until Captain Bluffbeard asks him to fill out a form of why he was returning, barely stopping the ship from crashing into the docks of Auburn. Once Chase makes it ashore, Mayor Gleeson is there to greet him, informing him that Rex Fury escaped from prison.
With his escape, the city fell into a massive crime wave with her limousine tires being stolen and her chauffeur's clothes being snatched. Chase immediately fears for Natalia's safety and asks Gleeson if she's alright, informing him that she's still in witness protection and tells him not to worry about her for now, his priorities are finding and arresting Rex again. As soon as Chase arrives at the police station, he notices Frank Honey carrying in a load of doughnuts and asks if he requires assistance.
Walkthrough[]
As Chase is only a civilian by this point, all you can do is punch objects to gain Bricks from them and collect loose studs around the docks. Your objective at this point is to get in the car and follow the Nav studs to the Cherry Tree Hills police station. After the next scene with Frank, you will have access to the lower floor of the station. There are black chairs and vending machines that you can destroy to build police portraits and a car ride next to the elevator, but to advance the plot you must go to the front of the station where Frank is hitting the main computer with a hammer until it explodes.
You must repair it to get the elevator working again and go down to the basement to retrieve your uniform. Along the way, Frank will tell you about your time on the force and tell you that there is a spare uniform in the basement that you can obtain. You will see a cutscene where Frank will push three boxes to unlock the stairs leading to the lower floor. Go down to the lower floor and destroy the three boxes to build a closet. Then, open the closet to get Chase McCain (Police). (In the remastered version, unlocking this character will also unlock Grace Makepiece (Police).) Once this is done, head to the evidence locker and Ellie will give you your communicator. After that, follow Frank to the elevator to return to the lobby.
Returning to the lobby, go to the main computer and use the Police suit to use it. A scene will play. When the scene ends, your communicator will start ringing. Press the down arrow on the D-Pad to use it and you will hear a call with Ellie. When you end the call, you will unlock Detective Scan, allowing you to scan near designated locations. Go up the stairs on the right and then go left to find Dunby's office locked. Use a question mark scanner symbol to find a key in the drawers on the right side. Place the key in a lock on the left side and turn it to open the door leading to Dunby's office. There, destroy a piece of furniture to build a desk with a radio. The radio will play a loud song that will wake up Dunby, playing a cutscene and taking you back to LEGO City from Cherry Tree Hills.
Upon returning to LEGO City, Ellie will tell you over the phone that you can mark the location on the map. Open the map and mark the police symbol so that a green trail appears. Next, you'll unlock Navigation, which will allow you to mark locations on the map. Hop on the Squaddie after answering a call from the communicator and follow the path of ghost studs to the Cherry Tree Bank, where another cutscene will play. When the scene ends, you will be chasing the first Clown Robber: Max. He will use a van to escape from you. You will chase him using a Squaddie. Approach him (you can use the turbo if you stay far away) and hit the van to remove a heart. Repeat this four times and Max will escape from you on foot. Quickly run towards him and when you see the action button flashing above him, quickly press it to catch him.
With Max arrested, you will receive a message from Ellie, who will tell you that at The Red Cafe they have seen the second Clown Robber: Lou. Take someone else's vehicle and follow the path of ghost studs until you reach the roof of The Red Cafe. There, a cutscene will play and when it's over, you'll unlock Criminal Scan, which will allow you to scan robbers with the communicator. Go to the designated location and use the Criminal Scan to scan Lou inside the right shed on the other side of the fences. Next, you will see a cutscene where a Farm Worker named Bill will water some plants that will be attached to the fences. Go down the stairs and use the plants attached to the fences to get to the other side. There, go right and open the shed to find Lou, who will escape through the trapdoor to reach the upper ledge. Grab a box and take it to the green pad on the left to build a bounce mushroom. Use it to reach the ledge above and chase Lou until you see a cutscene where he will reach a higher ledge and destroy a plant. Go to the place where the plant was and use a question mark scanner symbol to find a valve wheel buried by some leaves to the left. Grab it, place it on the hydrant on the right and turn it to activate the hydrant and make water appear in a hose. Some objects in the hose will stop the flow of water. Destroy them and the water flow will grow some vines on the left side of the front wall. Use them to reach the very high ledge and go right to find Lou coming out of a dog house. Chase him and when you see the action button flashing above him, quickly press it to catch him.
With Lou arrested, you will receive a message from Ellie, who will tell you that the third and final Clown Robber, Wes, has been seen at the docks. Take someone else's vehicle and follow the path of ghost studs until you reach the Auburn docks. There, use some intact objects to climb onto a container and use the Criminal Scan on a designated spot to scan Wes behind some containers on a ship. Then, go left and when you come across the doors to the ship closed, you will talk to a Harbor Worker, who will get on a forklift. Follow him and get on the boxes that the forklift is carrying so that the Harbor Worker can help you get to the roof. Destroy a green barrel in front of a door to enter the interior of the building and pull a lever to open the dock doors. The building's garage doors will also open so you can exit. Go through the newly opened doors and talk to another Harbor Worker, who will tell you to find his sandwich stolen by a seagull. Use the question mark scanner symbol on the left to find the sandwich stolen by the seagull. Recover it and take it to the Harbor Worker so he can eat it and ask another Harbor Worker named Larry to lower the crane platform. Chase will automatically climb onto the platform to reach the center of the ship. There, open the door of a container to find Wes inside, who will try to escape from you. Chase him like you did Lou and when you see the action button flashing above him, quickly press it to catch him. With the three Clown Robbers arrested, the Cherry Tree Bank Robbery case will be closed and the chapter will end, beginning the second chapter: Blast from the Past.
Trivia[]
- If the player takes too long following Frank, he will start complaining about how long Chase is taking.
- One of his lines is "Snake, snake, snaaaaake!" a reference to Metal Gear Solid.
- The train station is also still down, entering it anyways will have the station master tell Chase to come back later.
- There's an unused puzzle that was planned for the Police Station where Chase must retrieve a flower for Bea Heckerson as well as more dialogue between them.
- During the slideshow briefing on Rex Fury, an image of him committing tax fraud was intended to be shown but went unused as well.
- It was originally possible for Chase to fail to catch Max, resulting in a different dialogue tree of Ellie telling Chase that a different officer made the arrest instead before telling him to get to The Red Cafe. In the final game, failing a mission will just result in the player being prompted to try again with no additional dialogue.
- There was also going to be additional dialogue between Dunby and Frank during the mission of the latter mistaking an order to arrest the clown robbers with dating them, followed by revealing that Frank is stuck at a doughnut shop.
