Natalia Kowalski is a secondary character in LEGO City Undercover and The Chase Begins.

Story[]

Not much is known about Natalia's backstory, her father, Henrik was an astronomer who worked on Apollo Island and she was once a news reporter. Later on she was attacked by Rex Fury and was able to identify him for trial. Unfortunately Chase McCain unintentionally exposed her identity on live TV, leading her to going into witness protection for the next two years.

When Chase returned, her last name was changed to Smith and she dyed her hair blonde, now working as a paramedic for Mercy Heart's Hospital. Once again Rex goes after her, under the orders of Forrest Blackwell so he could blackmail Henrik into working for him.

She's shown to previously have feelings for Chase, although she gets angry at him for his mistakes and acts bitter towards him for most of the game up until the end. She's shown to hold a grudge for a long while, even as Chase was rescuing her. Over the course of the game, she's slowly able to trust him again.

LEGO City Undercover[]

Natalia first appears at the hospital, shocked to hear that Chase has returned and news that Rex broke out of prison. She angrily tells him off as she drives out of the city, still upset at having to change her identity thanks to Chase's actions two years ago. Later on she's seen with Duke Huckleberry, reviving Chase who was knocked out by Rex.

Henrik has gone missing and she takes it upon herself to find him, not trusting Chase to not expose her again. Later on she dons a ninja disguise to sneak into Chan Chuang's office to do her own undercover work. Once again she goes on her own to find Henrik until later on when she's captured by Chan's gang and has to be saved by Chase, Clutch and Studsky.

Later on she once again needs saving by Chase, this time by Blackwell's sentinels. Later on she was kidnapped by him, blackmailing Henrik into giving him the code to open up an air bubble around his moon base. However Blackwell doesn't release Natalia, forcing Chase to travel up into space to save her and arrest the multibillionaire. During the freefall from space, Natalia calls for Chase to save them as the remains of Blackwell's rocket falls back down to earth. He makes it in time and shares an embrace with her once they make it back to Lego City.

LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins[]

Natalia's first appearance is as a brunette news reporter Chase gains a crush on as he sees her. She makes her first physical appearance later on as she interviews the police force on the escaped convicts. Later on she's frozen solid by Rex Fury on Apollo Island, Chief Gleeson tasks Chase with escorting her to Bluebell National Park so she can be safe. As they remain at Bluebell, the pair bond with bike rides, picking flowers and tossing sticks into a polluted river. Unfortunately Chase soon lets it slip that Natalia was staying at the police station when he's attacked by Rex, leading to her being kidnapped and needing to be saved.

Once Chase rescues her, she thanks him and immediately slaps him for exposing her. She isn't seen again afterwards, although the end reveals that Chase's final blunder lead to her needing to go into witness protection, now working as a paramedic after the trial.
