Mountain Cave is the ninth custom level of the original adventures portion from LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues. It is the fourth custom level of Temple of Doom.

Level Prelude[]
After purchasing the Stunt Plane or Lao Che's Plane, fly towards the Shanghai neighborhood and then head left. Jump onto the flat ledge of the snowy slope and parachute to the ground. Enter the cave to start this level.
Level Walkthrough[]
You start in an area with stairs in front. Go up the stairs and defeat 2 Thuggees at the top so they don't bother you. Jump across a gap in the lava to the next ledge, then turn a crank to lower 3 floating platforms. Use the platforms you lowered to jump over the fence into the locked room you passed through just now. Grab a bazooka from the shelf on the left. Then pull a lever on the right to open the gate so you can get out of the fence. Jump back through the gap on the right to the ledge with the crank, then cross the narrow bridge and down the steps into the foreground. Turn left and target some dynamite barrels with the bazooka from a safe distance to destroy them. Turn a crank that was hidden behind the barrels. This will raise a series of small platforms in the lava pool. Use these platforms to jump over the lava to the right side of the room, then defeat 2 more Thuggees so they don't bother you. Destroy some plants hiding a hatch at the top, then have Maharajah crawl down the hatch to emerge on the ledge above. Go across a LEGO bridge and pull a lever to open the door below, then go down and through. Defeat 2 Thuggees in the hallway just behind the door, then defeat another Thuggee and 2 Pankot Assassins in the next room to the right. The next door will not open until you get 30,000 studs.
The most recommended way to reach 30,000 studs without stud multipliers is as follows: First, destroy the silver chest to the right to reveal a shovel, then use it to dig up a silver rock to the left of the bottom steps with the bazooka chest. Destroy the silver rock to reveal a spear, then throw it into one of the sockets above the lava pool to the right. Second, destroy the bushes in the back right corner to dig out another silver rock there, then destroy it to get a second spear. Throw this spear into one of the sockets on the right as well. Third, destroy the plants on the left and pull a lever that was hidden there. This will open the door in the back left corner. Inside it, there is a third spear. Throw it into the remaining socket. Once the spears are in the sockets, use them to jump across the lava pool and onto the high ledge at the bottom. Jump to the right and carefully jump over each of the flames to reach the blue and purple stud cache at the end of the ledge, then drop down near the bazooka chest.
After you get to 30,000 studs, the door on the left will open. With the method mentioned above, this shouldn't be a problem for you. Go through the door and up the stairs to the next room, then defeat 3 more Thuggees there. Then push 3 brown boxes along the checkerboard tiles and off the edge into the shallow hole. Once the crates are out of the way, turn a crank at the top to fire a set of 3 laser beams, which will hit 3 mirrors, raising the ramp on the left. Use this ramp to reach the ledge above. Defeat 2 Thuggee Acolyte waiting for you there and grab the Artifact to end the level.
