Mos Eisley Spaceport is the second level in the Nintendo DS version of LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy. It is the second level of A New Hope.

MOS EISLEY SPACEPORT

Young Luke Skywalker,

unaware of the great destiny

which lies before him, leaves

for Mos Eisley Space Port in

search for answers to the

questions his new droids

have brought.

Here, among the most

dangerous and reckless

elements of Tatooine society,

they hope to find someone

brave or foolhardy enough to

help in their quest to deliver

R2-D2's secret data to the

Rebel Alliance.

But Imperial forces are

everywhere...

Story

Later, a farmer named Luke Skywalker attempts to find R2-D2 and C-3PO through binoculars, but is inadvertently attacked by Tusken Raiders from behind, causing him to fall over a hill. After landing on flat ground and finding himself unable to climb another hill, Obi-Wan comes to help him. Thanks to Obi-Wan's Force, Luke climbs the hill and ventures further to find the droids. Eventually, they find the droids and head to Mos Eisley. There, they enter the Mos Eisley Cantina to find Chewbacca, only to notice two Stormtroopers capturing the droids. The trio sets out to rescue the droids, but are then interrupted by Sandtroopers and citizens of Mos Eisley. However, using their combat skills, they manage to free the droids inside a prison. Finally, R2-D2 opens the doors to the Mos Eisley Spaceport, where they board the Millennium Falcon. Meanwhile, at the Mos Eisley Cantina, Han Solo kills Greedo. He then boards the Millennium Falcon (not seen on screen) and, along with his friends, heads to Alderaan.

Walkthrough

As you start the level, you'll see a cutscene where Luke tries to find the droids, but is attacked by Tusken Raiders, causing him to fall down a hill. When you take control of Luke, slowly slide down the hill while grabbing studs and avoiding rocks. This part can be very difficult because of how bad the controls are. When you reach the bottom of the hill, defeat the Tusken Raiders that come your way and destroy two makeshift outposts on the next hill to summon Obi-Wan. After watching a cutscene where he takes out some Tusken Raiders, switch to him and use the Force to build a makeshift ladder that will allow you to climb the hill. Move forward, continue along one of the ledges on each side and double jump to reach the upper ledge and reach the next area.

In the next area, jump across a couple of platforms and use Luke to reach a higher platform. Push a box to the left, drop down, and use Obi-Wan's Force to turn the remains of the box into a platform. Keep jumping on the platforms diagonally upwards while defeating the Tusken Raiders and you will reach the top, where R2-D2 will join your team. When you start walking down the dune, use Obi-Wan's Force on some bricks to create a platform across the quicksand. Continue down the dune as you continue defeating the Tusken Raiders. When you find more quicksand, jump to the platform on the right with Obi-Wan and defeat two Tusken Raiders to have C-3PO join your team. Switch to him, drop down, and use a protocol panel on a ledge to drain all the quicksand. Then, enter the next area.

In the next area, go to the bottom right corner and you will see a door with a hologram of a large red mug next to it. Go through the door to reach the next area.

In the next area, you will be in Mos Eisley Cantina. Go to the left side of the building and you will see Chewbacca. When you approach it, two Stormtroopers will capture the droids. Go after them returning to the previous area.

Returning to the previous area, you'll see a cutscene where two Sandtroopers take the droids to a zone you couldn't access before. Follow them, but not before defeating Sandtroopers and citizens of Mos Eisley along the way. The Sandtroopers' infinite respawns can be stopped by destroying the protruding doors, also blocking the buildings. Continue on the right of the street and when there is no more path on the right, go through an arch to the north. Then, go right and go through another archway followed by a path of Silver Studs. Continue to the right and go through a barely visible door followed by a square of Gold Studs to reach the next area.

In the next area, Chewie will stay here for some reason. Defeat all the enemies in this area and you will see three connectors on the right side. Push three boxes and take them to the connectors. This may take a while because the push floor is huge. Two boxes are at the bottom, while one is at the top. Once you connect all three boxes, a giant silver satellite dish will move, allowing you to continue to the next area.

In the next area, destroy a protruding door to stop an infinite spawn of Sandtroopers and go to the door on the right, which will open. Continue to the right of the street as you defeat more Sandtroopers and stop two of their respawns. Go inside a building that is a prison. You will find R2-D2 and C-3PO trapped in a cell on the left side. To free them, switch to Obi-Wan and double jump to reach the red platform on the right that is slightly lowered to reach the upper ledge. Then, go left and build an anvil to free the droids. Approach them to join your team, then return to the previous area.

Returning to the previous area, use R2-D2 to open a door to the spaceport and go to the Millennium Falcon to play a cutscene. When the cutscene ends, the level will end.

Collectables

S means that the collectible can be obtained both in Story and in Free Play. F means the collectible can only be obtained in Free Play.

• Minikit Canisters
  1. (F) At the beginning of the level, you will see a minikit in the background. It's impossible to grab it in Story because a scene has two Tusken Raiders forcing Luke down the high hill. You can do this in Free Play, since there is no cutscene. Go to the right corner to find it.
  2. (S) After climbing the second hill of the first area using a ladder, you will find this minikit on the right side.
  3. (F) After jumping to the third platform on the lower level of the second area, use a double jump character to reach another platform far to the left. There, use an explosive character to destroy a cracked wall and reveal this minikit. The cracked wall may take a long time to break.
  4. (S) On the upper level of the cliff part in the second area, you will see a minikit on the platform on the right. Use a hover character to get there and get this minikit (the Tusken Raider next to it shouldn't bother you).
  5. (F) At the beginning of the canyon portion of the second area, use a double jump character to jump to the upper right ledge and then use a rock to jump to the upper left ledge, where you will find a black door. Although it has Blue Sparklies, you will have to use Darth Vader to open it. Behind it, destroy a central box and hit two stakes to set them on fire and reveal this minikit. If you find it difficult to get the stakes right, it is recommended to use a character with blaster.
  6. (S) After draining the quicksand with a protocol droid at the end of the second area, you will find this minikit on the ground.
  7. (F) Before going through the first archway near the end of the third area, go up the stairs on the right. Then, cross to the left of the bridge and jump across the balconies on the right with a double jump character until you reach the upper balcony. There, use Darth Vader to open a black door and reveal this minikit.
  8. (S) Before going through the archway that leads to the fourth area, go up the stairs to the north and then go left to find this minikit.
  9. (S) At the beginning of the fifth area, you will find this minikit on top of the nearest house. Use a double jump character to jump first to the roof above the entrance and then to the minikit.
  10. (S) Before entering the prison in the fifth area, climb to the roof of the house on the left with a double jump character and then jump to the balcony on the left. There, go through the entrance to reach the second cell on the left side of the prison, where you will find this minikit.

Unlockables

After completing the level, you unlock Tatooine Luke, Obi-Wan, Chewbacca and Han Solo. Zuckuss will be unlocked after obtaining all minikits in this level. In Mos Eisley Cantina you can buy a Gonk Droid, a Jawa, R5-D4, a Sandtrooper, a Tusken Raider and Wuher. You will also be able to continue to Rescue the Princess.

Trivia

• In version 1.0, in the first cutscene of this level, the right Tusken Raider often accidentally hits the left one. This was fixed in version 1.1.
• If the player activates an extra that causes the screen to go black after Chewbacca leaves the player's party, an extra Chewbacca will appear which the player can kill.
