Marion Dunby is a minor character in LEGO City Undercover and The Chase Begins.
Story[]
Dunby in The Chase Begins was merely a deputy who took orders from Chief Gleeson, although his work consisted of stuffing himself with doughnuts and belittling Chase McCain for any mistake he made throughout the game. In the end he gleefully shoves Chase onto a passing cargo ship and took all the credit for arresting Rex Fury.
In the sequel he was promoted to chief of police when Gleeson became the mayor, it's unknown how this occurred however considering his actions as a deputy. Throughout the game he's still hostile towards Chase until the end.

LEGO City Undercover[]
While Chase was away, he was certain that Rex had left the city for good and assured Natalia Kowalski that she was perfectly safe. However the moment Chase returned and told him otherwise, the two were immediately at each other's throats, with Dunby only letting him rejoin the force since now he was in charge and could boss Chase around.
Throughout the game, Dunby contacts Chase through the police communicator to brief him on any crimes that came up or to complain about how much the undercover work is costing the station. Although finally in the end, Dunby admits Chase saved the entire city by stopping Forrest Blackwell's rocket from incinerating everything and even lets him arrest Rex, only for Chase to decline.
The player unlocks him by arresting all the gangs in each district of the city.
LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins[]
The first scene is Dunby stealing doughnuts from another officer's plate and stomping towards Chase as the new officer records a blog. As soon as Gleeson welcomes him on the force and leaves, Dunby immediately demands to get him more doughnuts and mocks Chase any chance he gets. He dismisses all of Chase's findings as coincidental or forcing him to do the hard work. After finally taking out Rex, he and Chase get launched right in front of Dunby and a live news crew, leading to the criminal's arrest and Chase blurting out Natalia's identity on live TV.
