Walkthrough[]
The player begins as Kongu at the cliffs near a tree. The player moves forward then goes down, further down into a cave is none other than Matau, simply walk up to him and he will join the player. Now the player hops on the tree branches to the platform on the right, the large gap contains only a single enemy that can be taken out by either a Disk or Matau's power.
Getting out is simple as there's a vine ladder on the right side of the gap. A pressure plate is now in front of the player, using L or R, they will swap Kongu out for Matau, as the latter is heavy enough to press down the plate and open the door in front of them. Going past, the player will take out a dragonfly themed Rahi and turn to the left to find a stone wall. The player will first grab a glowing white ball to increase Matau's strength, then using his Air element, the player will crumble the wall into a chamber containing a single bat themed Rahi and the first piece of Huki's mask.
Going back towards the right and passing over an air vent, the player is met with their first Bohrok, it's constantly rolling back and forth, making it impossible for the Disks to damage it. The player must wait until it stops and stands upright before quickly tossing the Disk before jumping over it as it rolls. A second gap just before the Bohrok contains an Extra Life if the player wishes to grab it, while hopping on the treetops above the Bohrok will grant the player the second piece of Huki's Mask.
The platform after the tree will contain another Bohrok rolling along, however this one is red and rolls faster with barely any openings to attack, its best for the player to dodge it. The platform above the Bohrok will lead to a health pickup if the player needs it. After taking out a bat Rahi, the player drops down and will come across their first checkpoint. Break the wall beside it with Matau and they will obtain another spark to increase his strength.
Now the player must simply keep going off to the left, making sure to jump over the last gap as it doesn't have the air vent keeping them afloat. Another wall lies ahead, however there are also a pathway made up of collapsible log platforms. The player must quickly hop onto two of them while ascending to find the third piece of Huki's Mask. Going down, the player then uses Matau's power to break the wall. The next alcove has two bat Rahi to take out and two pits filled with spikes the player must jump across. The Matoran are capable of double jumping so its best to use Kongu for these segments.
Just before the exit will be another set of platforms leading up to a bipedal Rahi that shoots fireballs at the player, defeat it and jump up to the top platform to gain a second Extra Life. The player is met with a second checkpoint once they exit the cave, now they would need to hop across more collapsible platforms until they reach a solid platform with a Turaga switch.
Press it and platforms will begin moving vertically towards the right until the player makes it across and to another checkpoint. The next obstacle the player will face is quicksand, the player can walk over it, but they must constantly jumping in order to stop themselves from sinking in and losing a life. Going up the platform will then lead to a drop down where the player must take out a dragonfly themed Rahi before pressing onward, another collapsible platform is ahead with another health pickup above. As the player presses onward, a Bohrok will then burst out of the ground and attack.
Take it out or run past it to climb the ladder up to another pair of treetops. If the player jumps across the branches, they will find the fourth and final piece of Huki's Mask, now the player can choose to play as him if they start a new game. There's a switch for Matau to hop onto, activating a moving platform to reach a power upgrade if the player needs it. If not, they will use Matau's element on a trapdoor to activate it and fall into the second segment of the level.
The segment begins with the player landing on a collapsible platform, they must quickly jump to one of the wooden platforms on the side, as the bottom platform contains a Bohrok that barely gives the player an opening to attack. They must either defeat it or jump over it towards the right, climbing up two vine ladders. The next obstacle will be a large gap in the ground filled with spikes, luckily there's a vine ladder on the left side of the gap, the player cannot jump across so the player must take advantage of the air vents that will shoot up, alternating between the left and right sides. The player must time Kongu's double jump to make it across, then the next gap can take a single jump and a disk throw against a bat Rahi.
Now the player will be in front of collapsible platforms to hop across or a lower platform to walk across containing a Bohrok rolling around. Take either path to make it to the level exit. There's a health pickup behind a wall on the platform with the Bohrok while a platform just above the exit contains an Extra Life, the player just needs to take out another bat Rahi to pick it up. Once the level is complete, the player will be tossed into a boss fight against Muaka. Luckily the player's health bar will automatically refill at the end of every level, so they don't have to worry about heading into the boss with only one hit point left.
He will attack by slamming his head against the player, shooting fireballs into the air which the player will have to dodge once they land and by charging up and shooting a laser beam the player must duck under. He has ten life bars and loses one bar each time the player hits his head with a disk, once he goes down, it's off to Po Wahi.
