LEGO The Hobbit is a 2014 action-adventure video game released for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation Vita, Microsoft Windows and OS X. It is based on the first two The Hobbit films in The Lord of the Rings film series. The game was developed by Traveller's Tales and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
Development[]
Plans to release a DLC for the game that would cover the last film in The Hobbit trilogy, The Battle of the Five Armies was reported in January 2014, but in 2015, it was confirmed that there were no plans to make a DLC based on the film.
Features[]
LEGO The Hobbit follows the events of the first two films in the series, with each film getting eight levels. Like LEGO The Lord of the Rings, the open world is another iteration of Middle-earth, this time with locations featured in The Hobbit films. Objects within the levels and open world can be destroyed to pick up different items. These items can be used to create builds on special LEGO platforms, similar to the Instruction Build ability from The LEGO Movie Videogame. Like in LEGO The Lord of the Rings, characters can swap between items in their inventory.
