LEGO Stunt Rally |
LEGO Stunt Rally is a slot car racing game unrelated to the Racers series. The game follows a series of races through around a location called Stunt Island until they reach Mr. X, the founder of the island and greatest stunt racer. While the player cannot build their own car, each car has their own set of stats as well as different wheels that determine the speed or turning power of the car.
The cars steer automatically while the player controls the acceleration of the car and which lane to move to. If the player is off road for too long, the car is automatically dropped back onto the track.
Plot[]
While the game itself is focused on racing, the instruction manual tells the story of Mr. X holding a stunt championship rally and the player is his protégé, he wants them to prove their worth by beating the rally and earning the title of his successor.
Championship Race[]
There are a total of four circuits that represent the four different biomes of Stunt Island, City, Desert, Jungle and Arctic. Each circuit has five races, the first four being against up to three other CPU racers while the fifth is a one on one race against the biome's boss. Each circuit also has an exclusive Dropper that will slow any car that passes over it.
City[]
The first biome of Stunt Island and has the simplest tracks, not as much turning involved and at first the only stunt obstacles are ramp jumps and loop-de-loops. Billboards advertising LEGO Loco are on the sides of the track. Radium is the boss of this location. This circuit's exclusive Dropper is jam piles that slow down cars.
Desert[]
Three new obstacles are added, fans that will levitate the car and flaming portions of the road and muddy patches that slow down the car, as well as the turns being sharper and more often. The decor on the side of the roads will be cacti, palm trees and the occasional oasis. The boss of this location is Baron Flambo. This circuit's Dropper are oil cans that spin out the car much like the yellow power bricks in LEGO Racers.
Jungle[]
The jumps are now larger and will incorporate fans to give the player's car more hangtime. U-turns are added to the mix and quicksand is placed by the roads that will sink the car if crashed into. The decor on the side of the roads are waterfalls, stone ruins, palm trees and torches. Snake is the boss of this location. This circuit's Dropper are patches of rubber that send cars flying when run over.
Arctic[]
The final circuit, the turns are more plentiful and the muddy patches are replaced with ice that can slip up the cars. Some parts of the road are blocked off by electrified gates that the player must wait until they turn off in order to continue. The decor on the sides of the roads are more ice, pine trees, igloos and research buildings. The boss of this location is Glacia. This circuit's Dropper are chemical containers that cause a random effect to happen to whoever runs into them
Mr. X[]
A single one on one race with Mr. X himself, the single track is in a stunt stadium that includes all the previous obstacles and powerups. Beating him will give the player the title of World Championship.

The player starts out with four cars at first but can unlock more as they continue through the Championship Mode.

Version Differences[]
Game Boy Color[]
- The game is played with a top-down perspective instead of an isometric view.
- The intro is Mr. X talking directly to the player and wishing them a good race.
- The player can only choose what car to drive, unable to customize the tires and pant job.
- In the PC version, the player can swap between the four racers with each race. In the GBC port, when the player picks a character, they are stuck with them for the entire game.
- The construction area is smaller than the PC version.

Trivia[]
- Johnny Thunder and Sam Sinister cameo in the opening cutscene, although neither are playable ingame and are oddly partners.
