The Nintendo DS version of LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga is a version of the game built to run on the DS hardware with substantially different levels, gameplay, and visuals from the console version.

Gameplay[]

As in LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game, vehicle levels cannot be played in Free Play Mode and all collectibles can be obtained in Story Mode.

Each level has three boxes of fruit purees. If all are obtained, a minikit is awarded.

The True Jedi status bar acts similarly to LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy, where the player has to fill it twice, once in Story Mode and once in Free Play Mode.

The game has twelve mini-games in which you can endure endless waves, avoid Stormtroopers, etc.

Story[]

This game is based on the first six Star Wars movies. However, one level from each prequel trilogy film was cut (Invasion of Naboo, Bounty Hunter Pursuit and Chancellor in Peril) while each original trilogy film had two levels merged (Rescue the Princess & Death Star Escape, Cloud City Trap & Betrayal over Bespin, and Jabba's Palace & The Great Pit of Carkoon).

Trivia[]

  • The character icons are re-used from the first two games, rather than using the more detailed ones of the in-game models from the console/PC version.
  • The player can only have one stud multiplier turned on at a time which is frustrating.
  • The cutscenes in this version are criticized for looking like JPG images.
  • The vocal effects for a lot of the characters are incorrect in this version, with almost every male and female character reuse sounds from both Rebel Friend and Princess Leia.
  • The droids are the only characters to use their correct sounds.
  • No characters who were first playable in the console/PC version are playable in this version.
  • No music from Revenge of the Sith is used in the game and the wrong music plays in a lot of the level cutscenes and during gameplay as well.
  • No blaster characters have a cape for some reason and the player cannot give custom blaster characters one either.
  • Indiana Jones is not in this game which is also the case with Han Solo in the DS version of the following LEGO game.
  • The hub world is mostly based on the LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy version of the cantina with the prequels added in.
  • There is a bug where the textures become corrupted in one of the rooms in the cantina.
  • The Deflection Practice, Survival and Challenge minigames are very similar to the duel with Boba Fett in Star Wars Trilogy Arcade where the player must deflect the blaster shots as indicated with a lightsaber.
