LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game is a video game based on the Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise, developed by Traveller's Tales and published by Disney Interactive Studios. It was released in May 2011 to coincide with the release of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. It follows the first four Pirates of the Caribbean films. The game is available on the Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation Portable, Microsoft Windows and OS X.
Development[]
In November 2010, the game was officially announced to release in May 2011 to coincide with the newest film in the series at the time, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. A gameplay demo was also released in May 2011.
Features[]
LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game uses the formula of most previous LEGO games by TT Games. The story has five levels each for the four films covered. These levels can be accessed from the Port hub. Like in LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars, areas in the Port can be unlocked by finding more Gold Bricks. Characters can pick up objects and weapons like in the LEGO Indiana Jones games. Characters with swords can engage in sword fights with enemies.

Trivia[]
- This was the first LEGO video game on home console to allow the player to select their character at any time in the hub and Free Play. This has since carried over to every future LEGO game, except for LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 and LEGO City Undercover.
- This was the first LEGO video game to based on a Disney brand as Disney did not own Lucasfilm at the time.
- This is the first LEGO video game from TT to have a song with lyrics.
- This game was not released in Japan.
- This is the last LEGO game from TT to allow the player to switch characters who are wandering around the hub.
- This the only LEGO game from TT to have a character that Keira Knightley portrayed as her Star Wars character of Sabé has not appeared in any LEGO Star Wars game.
- Like LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures, the game overuses the word "treasure".
- This is one of three LEGO games from TT to use the word "finder" for extras, the others being LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes and LEGO The Lord of the Rings.
- This is the only LEGO game to have a soundtrack composed by Hans Zimmer as his music from The Dark Knight trilogy is not in any LEGO DC game.
- This is the first LEGO game from TT to allow the player to change the time of day in the hub, the others being LEGO The Lord of the Rings, LEGO The Hobbit, LEGO Jurassic World and the handheld version of LEGO Marvel's Avengers.
- This is the first LEGO video game to be based entirely on PG-13 movies, the others being LEGO The Lord of the Rings, LEGO The Hobbit, LEGO Jurassic World and LEGO Marvel's Avengers. This was okay, due to the fact that the PG-13 rating is unrestricted as it just says that some material may be inappropriate for kids.
- The game can also be played on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S because of backwards compatibility. It was added to this program on November 9, 2015.
