LEGO Island is the basis for the first LEGO game ever released internationally. With each passing game, the island itself changes its layout and size but the name and all the citizens living in it remain the same.

About the Franchise[]

In 1995, Mindscape approached LEGO with the intention of creating a LEGO PC game, originally titled Adventures On Lego Island. The game was released on September 26th, 1997, and went on to sell over a million copies and win many awards.

There were at least six other games in development for the franchise but due to Mindscapes laying off their entire staff after the first LEGO Island released, all of them were cancelled.

The following two sequels were instead developed by Silicon Dreams and were much different in terms of gameplay and story.
