LEGO Creator LEGO Creator: Knights' Kingdom

LEGO Creator is a sandbox game where you can build with LEGO elements. It was developed by Superscape and released on November 11, 1998 for Microsoft Windows. The game was intended to be a virtual version of the toy itself, allowing the player to build whatever they want, whenever they want with no limitations.

Gameplay[]

The game starts off on the building screen with a character called the Lego Creator Wizard on the top left corner of the screen, click on him and then click anywhere else on the screen for him to inform the player about what they clicked on. Beside the Wizard are the Build and Play buttons the player can toggle between, building mode allows the player to add minifigures, vehicles or buildings to the screen while pressing Play lets the player see the figures and vehicles all move as well as be able to view from specific vehicles or figures.

The player can move around the 3D screen showing off their creation with the navigation bar below. The red ball inside a square will move the camera around depending on which mouse button is clicked down, the further the ball is moved, the faster the camera will scroll. The camera button will allow the player to immediately switch to a viewpoint of any of the creations when clicked on, with the arrows surrounding the button allowing the player to move the camera while sticking to the creation. The button showing off a rotating lever will rotate whatever is clicked on and the magnifying glass button will zoom the camera in or out. Finally the button of a house will reset the camera back to an overview of the entire creation.

Build[]

Below are the Personal Lego Assistant (PLA) buttons. The Wizard Trainer is of the Creator Wizard who will give the player instructions on how the two modes work, the minifigure with the wrench will open the settings menu, changing the detail in the game and to switch the graphics display from Hardware to Software.

The bottom button of the minifigure with a box will save the player's creation or load a prexisting one. Finally the Lego toybox will bring up everything the player can place in the creation screen. The player is then taken to a new screen where they can change the environment, add premade vehicles or buildings, add minifigures, add in bricks, create custom minifigures or change the colour of the different bricks. (When changing the environment, the entire screen will change, so be sure to save your previous creation first.)

Some ready built creations can be taken apart, shown by a button of bricks being taken apart, these buildings can be moved whole or taken apart brick by brick. What is moved can be toggled by another button of a Lego pyramid, it will show either a single red brick among yellow bricks or the entire pyramid consisting of red bricks. Finally the bricks can be scrolled around back to front by clicking and holding down the left mouse button and can be moved up and down with the right mouse button. A shadow is below the chosen brick to show the player where it would land.

The minifigures are next, with the player able to customize them as they please, as well as swap between them moving, sitting or just standing still. The player can also configure the gibberish noises they make when talking to another minifigure or at random, the player can even add in their own sound effects saved on their computer and adding them into the Creator program.

The vehicles come in either prebuilt variety or to be built from scratch by the player, they can be placed anywhere on the 3D plain but can only move if a minifigure is placed inside them. Then the player can change their direction path, changing whether the vehicle moves in a circle, in a figure eight or to only follow the road plates. The vehicles can either move along the ground or float in the air, floating vehicles aren't able to follow road plates.

Finally the colour palette button allows the player to change the colour of anything they click on.

Play[]

Clicking this mode will get all the vehicles and figures moving. The PLA buttons have now changed with a new button with a camera on it, clicking on it will allow the player change the camera view to focus entirely on a figure or vehicle. As they watch the player can swap between a behind view, a first person view or a fixed view from a remote distance. The player can go back to normal camera view by either clicking on the Build button or the camera button on the top of the control screen.

While everything is moving automatically, the player can control whatever they click on manually with the keyboard. Some creations are known as Action Bricks, these can do something random when the Play button is clicked.

This mode also allows the player to place Destructa-Bricks, explosive bricks that can destroy anything in its blast radius. The size of the explosion can be toggled with a scroller before being placed down. Clicking on a vehicle or building will also give the player the option to blow it up if they so choose, any destroyed models will be removed from the 3D plain.
