Ice Cream Factory is the second hero level in the Nintendo DS version of LEGO Batman: The Videogame. It is the second hero level of The Bullion Dollar Riddle.

Story

The duo go to the Ice Cream Factory, where they find two frozen Police Officers, causing Robin to laugh. Batman stops Robin from laughing and they enter the Ice Cream Factory. They spends time battling Freeze Goons as they explore, until they find the guy who froze the two Police Officers they saw earlier, Mr. Freeze. After a confrontation, he tries to flee, but Batman throws his batarang at his head, dragging him against a wall. The wall hits Mr. Freeze's jetpack, causing it to explode and freeze. The Riddler notices Mr. Freeze's defeat, but is then noticed by Batman and Robin. He flees as Batman and Robin chase him. He manages to escape in Two-Face's Armored Truck and leaves another box with a clue on the ground for the duo. Mr. Freeze is then taken to Arkham Asylum.

Walkthrough

You start at the entrance to the Ice Cream Factory. Go to the right and a Freeze Goon will attack you. Defeat him and another one will come to attack you. Defeat him too, build a suit swapper and use it with Batman to put on the Demolition Suit. Place a detonator near a red lock and detonate the detonator to destroy the lock and open the doors on the other side of the fences. Before continuing, go even further to the right and defeat one more Freeze Goon. Then, go through the doors you opened and use another suit swapper to put on Robin's Magno Suit. To open the door to the Ice Cream Factory, you'll need to build six cones to make six red lights turn green. There are three cones on each side. Start with the cones on the left side first. Build the first cone on the lower floor, build a grapple point and use it with Batman to reach the ledge above. There, build the second cone and step on a button to raise a ladder for Robin. Switch to him, climb a metal wall and build the third cone. With the three cones on the left side built, you will only need to build the ones on the right side. Build the fourth cone on the lower floor, climb a metal wall with Robin and build the fifth cone. Step on another button to build another grapple point for Batman. Then, switch to Batman and use one more grapple point to reach the high ledge, where you'll need to build the sixth and final cone. Once all six cones have been built, the door to the Ice Cream Factory will open. Go through it to reach the next area.

In the next area, you will need to place three blue bricks on a build-it machine. To find the first blue brick, build a hatch near the entrance and enter it with Robin to reach the platform above. Then, walk on a tightrope, continue to the right, build a lever and pull it to reveal a grey box on a conveyor belt. Jump down from the platform and destroy the grey box to reveal the first blue brick. Don't grab it yet, though. Instead, go right and you'll be attacked by two Freeze Goons. Defeat them, grab the blue brick and take it to the right side. You will notice that the build-it machine is inside a room with icy vapors. Leave the blue brick on the ground, build a suit swapper and use it with Batman to put on the Arctic Suit, which will protect you from the cold. Then, build a lever on the right and pull it to open the door to the room. Grab the blue brick as Batman, enter the room with the icy fumes and place the brick into the build-it machine. To find the second blue brick, build a metal wall on the right side and climb it with Robin. Then go left, build a lever and pull it to reveal another grey box on another conveyor belt. Jump down from the platform and destroy the grey box to reveal the second blue brick. Grab it as Batman and place it in the build-it machine inside the room with the icy vapors. To find the third blue brick, build a grapple point on the center side and use it with Batman to reach the ledge above. There, build a lever and pull it to reveal one more grey box on one more conveyor belt. Destroy the grey box to reveal the third blue brick. Grab it as Batman and place it in the build-it machine. By placing the three blue bricks into the build-it machine, you will build a lever. Pull it to evaporate the icy vapors so Robin can enter the room. Have both characters step on two buttons to raise an elevator. Go left across two frozen vapors with Batman and use another suit swapper to put back on the Demolition Suit. Using the Demolition Suit, destroy two red machines to extinguish the icy fumes and allow Robin to cross. Continue left, build a grapple point and use it with Batman to reach the walkway above. There, pull a lever to build a ladder for Robin. Then go right, walk a tightrope with Robin, build a lever and pull it to extend a platform for Batman. Have both characters pull two levers on the right to open the door that will take you to the next area.

In the next area, you will need to turn four green lights red to prevent the ice water from rising. Two Freeze Goons will attack you from the lower floor. Jump down and defeat the two Freeze Goons. Then, climb a ladder to return to the platform you were on, build a grapple point to the left, and use it with Batman to reach the ledge above. Build a button and step on it to build a pole point for Robin. However, since the icy water is blocking you, you won't be able to do anything on the high ledge for now. Jump down from the platform, go left and use Robin to enter a hatch and reach a room. In that room, press a button to open the door. Then, switch to Batman, place a detonator near a red machine and detonate it to destroy the machine and build a lever. Pull it so that one of the four green lights turns red. Exit the room, go back left and use Robin on a pole point to reach the ledge above. There, build a button and step on it to build a grapple point for Batman. Switch to Batman, use the newly built grapple point, place a detonator near a red box and detonate it to destroy the box and build another lever. Pull it to open some grates and use Batman's Batarang or Robin's Birdarang to turn two glowing targets green. This will cause the second green light to turn red. Go right, place a detonator near a red door and detonate it to destroy the door. In the room behind that red door, build a lever and pull it to turn the third green light red. Go even further to the right and use a suit swapper to put Batman in the Glide Suit. Build another grapple point, use it to reach a high ledge, and glide to the ledge in front. On that ledge, build a metal wall and quickly step on four square buttons to turn them all green and build a hatch for Robin. Enter the hatch with Robin, climb the metal wall and pull one more lever to make the fourth and final green light turn red. When all four lights turn from green to red, the frozen liquid stops rising and a bridge is formed. Climb up the central ladder and use a grapple point with Batman or a pole swing with Robin to reach the ledge above. The game's AI will automatically have the second character climb up onto the ledge. Cross the bridge formed and have both characters step on a large button to open the door that will take you to the next area.

In the next area, you'll see the Riddler and Mr. Freeze escaping through a room. Stand on a block and glide across the frozen liquid to the right. Use a suit swapper to put on the Demolition Suit once again and destroy two red blocks to build two vent covers. This allows Robin to cross to the other side of the frozen liquid. Have both characters pull two levers to open the door that will take you to the final area.

In the final area, you'll face Mr. Freeze in a boss fight. Hit him several times until you remove two hearts. After removing two hearts, he will jump to the ledge above and step on a button to open a container where Freeze Goons will emerge. A metal wall will also be revealed. Defeat as many Freeze Goons as you can, climb the metal wall with Robin, and step on a button to build a grapple point for Batman. Use the grapple point with Batman, place a detonator near a red pipe and detonate it to destroy the pipe and send Mr. Freeze back to the lower floor. Take away two more hearts and he'll jump back to the ledge above. Repeat the same methods three times until you eliminate all eight hearts from Mr. Freeze and finish the level.

Collectables

S means that the collectible can be obtained both in Story and in Free Play. F means the collectible can only be obtained in Free Play.

• Minikit Canisters
  1. (F) At the start of the level, destroy a trash can on the right side of a fence to build a gold door. Use the Gold Key on it to open the fences. Behind the fences, pull a lever to open some bars and use a character with super strength to push a box with golden handles. This will allow you to build a grapple point. Use a character with grappling hook on it to reach the walkway above, go left and destroy a grey box to build another grapple point. Use it to reach the left platform and then use a glide character to reach the far right platform. On that platform, use an explosive character to destroy a red panel and build a lever. Pull it to open the grate with this minikit. If you can't reach this minikit, try to do it with a high-jump character.
  2. (F) Find three Riddler tokens throughout the level to get this minikit:
     1. On the ledges on the right side of the first area, jump down to the zone on the right and climb a ladder to reach the high right ledge. There, use Robin or Nightwing's Magno Suit to climb a metal wall and use a high-jump character to reach the highest ledge on the right side. On that ledge, destroy a white box to reveal this Riddler token.
     2. In the second area, destroy a grey box on the far left to reveal this Riddler token.
     3. On the left side of the lower floor of the third area, destroy a small white box near a hatch to reveal this Riddler token.
  3. (S) On the left side of the second walkway in the second area, use a high-jump character to follow the path of studs to the left and reach this minikit.
  4. (F) On the left side of the lower floor of the third area, use a character with super strength to pull two golden handles and reveal a hatch. Use a small character to enter it and reach a small room with this minikit.
  5. (S) On the right side of the fourth area, drop down the edge to the right of the two levers to find this minikit on a platform.

• Gotham Streets (Hero) Red Power Brick
  • (F) Note: This Red Power Brick can also be obtained on the villain side of this level. On the platform before the grate with the first minikit, build a metal wall and climb it with Robin or Nightwing's Magno Suit to reach the highest roof of the factory. There, use an explosive character to destroy two red chimneys and reveal two buttons. Step on them to open a gate with this Red Power Brick on top of the factory. To reach it, use a small character to enter a hatch on the high ledge to the right of the factory. Then, jump onto the walkway on the left to reach this Red Power Brick.

• Commissioner Gordon Joker Card
  • (F) On the highest roof in the first area, drop down to the south of the red chimney on the left to reach a small platform. On that platform, destroy some boards to find this Joker Card.

Unlockables

After completing the level, you unlock a Freeze Goon. In the Batcave you can buy Mr. Freeze. You will also be able to continue to Batmobile Chase. After collecting the Red Power Brick, you can purchase Gotham Streets (Hero).
