Hoth Battle is the sixth level in the Nintendo DS version of LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy. It is the first level of The Empire Strikes Back.

HOTH BATTLE

It is a dark time for the

Rebellion. Although the Death

Star has been destroyed,

Imperial troops have driven

the Rebel forces from their

hidden base and pursued

them across the galaxy.

Evading the dreaded Imperial

Starfleet, a group of freedom

fighters led by Luke

Skywalker, has established a

new secret base on the

remote ice world of Hoth.

The evil lord Darth Vader,

obsessed with finding young

Skywalker, has dispatched

thousands of remote probes

into the far reaches of

space...

Story

Three years after the events of Episode IV, the Battle of Hoth begins. Luke Skywalker hops into a Snowspeeder, enters a cave, and then immobilizes four of five AT-ATs to destroy them. Before Luke can destroy the fifth AT-AT, the AT-AT fires at the Snowspeeder, causing it to lose control and crash. The AT-AT then destroys part of Echo Base.

Walkthrough

At the beginning of the level, you will see a cutscene where the Battle of Hoth begins. When the scene ends, you will appear in the dunes of Hoth. Go across the path and you will find ATSTs. While you can use a tow cable on them, it won't do anything to them, so it's considered a waste. The best thing you can do with them is shoot them, as that will make them fall and destroy them. Defeat the ATSTs, go to the path on the right and you will see a frozen patch. Destroy it to enter a cave that will take you to the next area.

In the next area, follow the path of Silver Studs while destroying Probe Droids. At the end of the path of Silver Studs, you will find a wall of ice blocking the path. Shoot a spinning red and green bomb to make it explode and destroy the ice wall, but time well to shoot the green side, as shooting the red side causes you to die, even if you're far away. In the next large zone, follow the path of Gold Studs to the right while destroying more Probe Droids. At the end of that path, you will find another ice wall along with another bomb. Shoot the bomb while it is on the green side to destroy the ice wall and reach the final area of ​​the level.

In the final area of ​​the level, you will have to destroy four of five AT-ATs in less than three minutes. If the time reaches zero, you will lose the level. There will also be Probe Droids and ATSTs in this area, but it's best to focus on the AT-ATs. When you are near an AT-AT, take out your tow cable with the A button and swing the cable around it to drop it and destroy it. When you destroy the first four AT-ATs, you will have one left, but before you can destroy it, a cutscene will play, ending the level.

S means that the collectible can be obtained both in Story and in Free Play. F means the collectible can only be obtained in Free Play.

• Minikit Canisters
  1. (S) At the beginning of the level, on the left side, you will find an ice wall to the north. Destroy it to enter a cave where you will find this minikit.
  2. (S) As you go to the right side of the first area, you will find this minikit in the middle.
  3. (S) In the first large zone of ​​the second area, you will see an ice wall on the right. Destroy it to enter a small zone where you will find this minikit.
  4. (S) As you follow the first Silver Studs path in the second area, you'll see a spinning red and green bomb ahead. Shoot the bomb while it is on the green side to make it explode and destroy an ice wall and go to a path where you will find this minikit.
  5. (F) From the previous minikit, use Slave I to clear the path of some rocks and find this minikit.
  6. (S) In the second gap of the second area, go right to find this minikit at the end of the path.
  7. (S) From the previous minikit, enter the small gap on the right to reach a special area with this minikit. (The special area is considered separate from the second area, which means you do not need to use a vehicle with Narrow Access.)
  8. (F) In the second large zone of ​​the second area, you will see a door that requires TIE Access on the left. Open it with a vehicle with TIE Access to find this minikit in a small zone.
  9. (S) In the second large zone of ​​the second area, you will see a spinning red and green bomb ahead. Shoot the bomb while it is on the green side to make it explode and destroy an ice wall and find this minikit in a small zone.
  10. (S) In the final area, go to the far right and you will find this minikit on devices two and three. The minikit can be very difficult to grab due to the awkward camera.

Unlockables

After completing the level, you unlock a Snowspeeder. X34 Land Speeder will be unlocked after obtaining all minikits in this level. In Mos Eisley Cantina you can buy a Probe Droid. You will also be able to continue to Escape from Echo Base.
