Gotham Streets is the first hero level in the Nintendo DS version of LEGO Batman: The Videogame. It is the first hero level of The Bullion Dollar Riddle.

Story

At their secret base, the Riddler's Group is having fun until the Riddler arrives. When he arrives, he teaches his group a plan to steal gold from Gotham Bullion Fortress. To do so, he shows blueprints indicating that he will need an ice cannon to make a bridge, some seeds to make a tall tree, and a key to open the door.

The Riddler, Two-Face, and Clayface blow up the door to Gotham Bank and break into it, setting off an alarm. Meanwhile, Batman and Robin notice the presence of the Bat Signal and head to the bank. Before they can get there, they notice two armed Riddler Goons. Ready for action, the dynamic duo fight off thugs as they cross the streets to get to the bank. Upon arriving at the bank, Clayface notices them and confronts them. The duo defeat him by activating a rain shower and causing the water to melt him. Following Clayface's defeat, Batman notices the Riddler and pursues him. Unfortunately, the Riddler manages to escape in Two-Face's Armored Truck and leaves a box with a clue on the ground. Before they can escape, Batman plants a tracker on the truck and then investigates the box, while Robin takes Clayface to Arkham Asylum.

Walkthrough

You start on the streets of Gotham. Go right and you will be attacked by two Riddler Goons. Defeat them, build a lever and pull it to open a garage, where you will find a white box. Destroy it to build a grapple point and use Batman on it to reach the walkway above. There, build a lever and pull it to build a ladder so Robin can reach the walkway. Then, continue to the right, build a hatch and use Robin to enter it and reach a higher roof. On that high roof, build another lever and pull it to build another grapple point for Batman. Switch to Batman, use the grapple point to reach the high roof, and use a suit swapper to change into the Glide Suit. Using the Glide Suit, glide across the gap on the right, defeat two Riddler Goons, and build a tightrope so Robin can cross the gap. Go down a slope, build a hatch and enter it with Robin to reach the other side of the fences. On the other side of the fences, build a button and step on it to open the gate of the fences. Next, build a grapple point and use Batman on it to reach the roof above. There, build another suit swapper and use it to put on the Demolition Suit. With the Demolition Suit on, drop down from the ledge, place a detonator near the red lock and tap the icon on the touch screen to detonate it. This will destroy the red lock and open the door that will take you to the next area.

In the next area, you will need to place three blue bricks on a build-it machine. You will find the first blue brick near the build-it machine. Grab it and place it in the build-it machine. The second blue brick can be found near two cones on the right. When you go right, two goons will attack you. Defeat them, grab the blue brick and place it in the build-it machine. Then, step on a button in front to reveal the third blue brick. Grab it too and place it in the build-it machine. By placing the three blue bricks in the build-it machine, you will build a grapple point. Use Batman on it to reach the awning above. On that awning, build a lever to the left and pull it to build a ladder for Robin. Then go right, build a tightrope and walk on it with Robin to reach the awning on the other side. On the awning on the other side, build another lever and pull it to open a door that will take you inside the cinema. Inside, pull a lever to open the doors. Then, switch to Batman, place a detonator near a red box and detonate it to destroy the red box and build two buttons. Have both characters step on them to build a ladder so Batman can reach the awning on the right side. Place another detonator near a red lock and detonate the detonator to destroy the red lock and open the door leading to the other side of the broken truck. Drop down on the other side, go right and defeat two Two-Face Goons. Then, destroy another red box with another detonator to build two glowing targets. Use Batman's Batarang or Robin's Birdarang to turn both targets green and build a metal wall. Build a suit swapper and use it with Robin to put on the Magno Suit. Using the Magno Suit, scale the metal wall, push a crate to the edge of the ledge to knock it down, build a lever and pull it to open the gate of the fences so Batman can cross them. Then continue to the right, build another grapple point and use it with Batman to reach the ledge above. Pull a lever to build a ladder for Robin. Have both characters step on two buttons to open the door that will take you to the next area.

In the next area, drop down from the ledge and you will notice that a Two-Face Goon in front of you will call out a Two-Face Bodyguard to come behind you. Defeat both the goon and bodyguard and two more Two-Face Goons will come through the destroyed bank door. Defeat them as well and go through the destroyed door to reach the final area.

In the final area, you will face Clayface in a boss fight. He will jump off the ledge he is on and attack you. Hit him a few times and when you remove three hearts out of him, he will jump back onto the ledge. Four goons will come in two groups. Defeat the first half and then the second. Upon defeating them, Clayface will jump off the ledge again and attack you again. Take away another three hearts and he'll jump back onto the ledge. Four more goons will come in two groups. Defeat them as well and Clayface will jump off the ledge again to attack you. Take away three hearts from him again and when he has one heart left, he will jump onto the ledge once more. You will see a sequence where you can build a button on the left. Build the button and step on it to fill a water dispenser and reveal two levers on the right. Have both characters pull both levers to activate a rain shower and remove Clayface's last heart, ending the level.

Collectables

S means that the collectible can be obtained both in Story and in Free Play. F means the collectible can only be obtained in Free Play.

• Minikit Canisters
  1. (F) At the beginning of the level, you will find this minikit behind some bars. To grab it, go to the walkway above and go left to find a red box. Use an explosive character to destroy it and build a button. Step on it to open the bars with this minikit.
  2. (F) At the beginning of the level, use a character with super strength to pull two handles on the right side and reveal a red box. Use an explosive character to destroy it and build a handle. Pull it to reveal this minikit.
  3. (F) On the roof where you find the suit swapper with the Demolition Suit, use a character with super strength to pull two handles and reveal a button on the wall. Press it to build a grapple point and use it with a character with grappling hook to reach the platform above. There, use a high-jump character to reach the platform on the left and destroy some windows to enter another room. Continue to the left, destroy more windows and push a crate from the ledge to knock it down and build a gold door. Use the Gold Key on it to open the door with this minikit.
  4. (S) At the beginning of the second area, destroy a blue mailbox to build a hatch. Enter it with a small character to enter a small room where you can build this minikit.
  5. (F) Find three Riddler tokens throughout the level to get this minikit:
     1. On the awning on the left side of the second area, go left and destroy a chimney to reveal this Riddler token.
     2. On the lower floor on the left side of the second area, destroy a blue mailbox near the cinema to build a silver door. Use the Silver Key on it to open a door to another special area. There, you will find this Riddler token in the middle.
     3. In the final area, use a character with boomerang or gun to destroy the top right grey panel on the right wall and build a grapple point. Use a character with grappling hook on it to reach the platform above and destroy the panel slightly to the south to reveal this Riddler token.

• Score x2 Red Power Brick
  • (F) On the roof where you find the suit swapper with the Glide Suit, use an explosive character to destroy a red panel and build a grapple point. Use a character with grappling hook on it to reach a high platform and destroy some windows to enter a room. Then destroy the windows on the left and use a glider character to glide to the roof on the left. There, use a character who is immune to cold to build a lever from some frozen vapor and pull it to build a blue door. Use the Blue Key on the blue door to open a door that will take you to a special area. In that special area, you will have to make the colors of the lower lights match the upper ones. However, the fourth light is missing a button. Use an explosive character to destroy a red box and build the missing button. Then, step on the buttons until the lower lights match the upper ones. The first light has to be blue, the second one yellow, the third one red, and the fourth one green. After matching the colors, this Red Power Brick will appear in the middle of the area.

• Alfred Joker Card
  • (F) At the end of the second area, you'll find five dark targets on the right wall. Use a character with gun to turn them green and build a hatch to the right. Enter it with a small character to reach the high ledge, where you will find a red box. Destroy it with an explosive character to build a silver door and use it with the Silver Key to reveal this Joker Card under the ledge.

• Killer Moth
  • While playing this level in Villain Hunt mode, you will find this character on a platform on the right side of the third area. Use a character with grappling hook on a grapple point to reach the platform with this character.

Unlockables

After completing the level, you unlock Clayface. In the Batcave you can buy Alfred and a Two-Face Goon. You will also be able to start Power-Crazed Penguin on the hero side and The Joker's Last Laugh on the hero side or continue to Ice Cream Factory. After collecting the Red Power Brick, you can purchase Score x2. After finding Killer Moth in Villain Hunt mode, you can purchase him in the Batcave.
