Gotham Cathedral is the fifteenth and final villain level in the Nintendo DS version of LEGO Batman: The Videogame. It is the fifth and final villain level of The Joker's Last Laugh.
Story[]
After Scarecrow is taken to Arkham Asylum, the villain duo arrive at Gotham Cathedral. There, they encounter a Joker Goon, who tells them that the barrels of toxic waste have almost finished being transported. Ready to begin the Joker's plan, the duo enter the cathedral and turn on two Joker devices. They then climb to the top of the cathedral, where two goons carry two boxes needed to activate the booby trapped. They end up activating the booby trapped, which will explode in 10 minutes. A few minutes later, Batman and Robin arrive to stop the villains.
Walkthrough[]
You start at the entrance to Gotham Cathedral. The doors are closed, but instead of going through them, you'll have to go up. Go right and use a Villain Panel to build a grapple point. Use it with the Joker to reach the ledge above and step on a button to build a ladder for Harley Quinn. Use Harley on a pole point to swing to the high ledge on the right and pull a lever to build another ladder for the Joker. Use the Joker's card to hit three glowing red targets and turn them green to build another grapple point. Use it to reach the platform above and pull another lever to raise a ladder to the left. Climb the ladder, go south and push a box to the edge to knock it down and build a wall button. Press it to cover the cathedral doors and extend three steps on the ledge where you pushed the box. Go back to the ledge where you were, jump up the three steps to reach the highest ledge, and have both characters step on a large button to open the doors that will take you to the next area.
In the next area, two Security Guards will attack you. Defeat them to open the gate on the right. Go through the newly opened gate to reach the next area.
In the next area, go down a ladder and off a platform to the south and go right. Another pair of guards will attack you. Defeat them and continue to the right. Use the Joker's card to hit two glowing red targets on either side of the front doors, turning them green. This will extend a high platform to the right, allowing you to build a grapple point. Use it to reach the platform and step on a button to extend another high platform to the left. Before you reach that platform, hit another glowing red target to turn it green. Build another grapple point and use it to reach the high left platform. Use the card to hit another glowing red target and turn it green. When both glowing red targets near the platforms are green, a gray box will drop in the center and be destroyed, allowing you to build a button. Step on it to raise a ledge in the center and pull a lever to build another lever attached to a Joker device. Pull it to activate the Joker device and reveal two buttons. Have both characters step on those buttons to close the left wall and open the doors that will take you to the next area.
In the next area, two SWATs will come from the floor above. Defeat them to build a lever attached to another Joker device and pull it to activate the device. This will reveal pieces above. Go up the stairs on the left and use the pieces to build a grapple point. Use it with the Joker to reach the platform above and use another grapple point to reach the third floor. Step on a button to extend stairs for Harley Quinn. Destroy a white box on the right to build a pole point and use it with Harley to reach a higher platform. Pull a lever to reveal a grapple point that will allow the Joker to reach the platform. Use the Joker on another grapple point to reach the fourth floor, build a button and step on it to extend more stairs for Harley. Use another grapple point to reach the higher platform and destroy a white box to build one more grapple point. Use it to reach the fifth floor and step on a final button to extend stairs so Harley can reach the fifth floor. Have both characters pull two levers to open the doors that will take you to the final area.
In the final area, you will have to activate the booby trapped. Step on four square buttons on the left side to build a grapple point. Use it with the Joker to reach the ledge on the left side and use the card to hit two glowing red targets, turning them green. This will raise a ladder for Harley Quinn. Have both characters pull two levers to have a Goon Helicopter bring a box to the left chessboard. Push it onto the black tile on the right to build the first part of the booby trapped. This will also reveal pieces on the right side. Go right and use the revealed pieces to build a pole point. Use it with Harley Quinn to swing to the ledge on the right side and step on five square buttons to build another grapple point below. This grapple point will allow the Joker to reach the right ledge. Destroy two statues on the left to build two buttons and have both characters step on them to reveal two levers on the right. Have them both pull them so the Goon Helicopter brings a box onto the right chessboard. Push it onto the black tile on the left to build the second part of the booby trapped. When you build the second part of the booby trapped, you can build a grapple point to the right of the trapped. Use it with the Joker to reach the center ledge and step on a button to activate two levers in the center. Have both characters pull them to activate the booby trapped and end the level.

S means that the collectible can be obtained both in Story and in Free Play. F means the collectible can only be obtained in Free Play.
- Minikit Canisters
- (F) On the left side of the first area, use an explosive character to destroy some red and black boards and build a pair of golden handles. Pull them with a character with super strength to destroy a small part of the doors and find this minikit.
- (S) Find three Riddler tokens throughout the level to get this minikit:
- When you're on the highest platform on the right side of the first area, jump to the ledge on the right and destroy a gargoyle to reveal this Riddler token.
- In the second area, destroy the middle bookshelf to reveal this Riddler token.
- At the beginning of the fourth area, destroy a holy water fountain in the center to reveal this Riddler token.
- (S) In the second area, use a character with ranged weapon (such as a character with boomerang) to destroy three paintings on the front wall and reveal three glowing red targets. Hit them with a character with boomerang so that a gargoyle falls in the center and is destroyed, revealing this minikit.
- (F) At the beginning of the third area, go right and use a character with super strength to pull a pair of golden handles and destroy a wall to reveal this minikit.
- (F) On the fifth floor of the fourth area, use a character with super strength to pull a pair of golden handles on the right and destroy a wall to reveal this minikit.
- Fast Build Red Power Brick
- (F) Note: This Red Power Brick can also be obtained on the hero side of this level. On the right side of the first area, use the Gold Key on a gold door in the upper right corner to open a trapdoor in the floor. Then, quickly go to the ledge with the first Riddler token from the second minikit and push a box over the edge to drop it into the trapdoor. You'll have to do it quickly, as the trapdoor will close again and you'll have to repeat everything again. When you make the box fall through the trapdoor when it is open, the doors on the right side will open. Behind those doors, use an explosive character to destroy a red box and open the gate with this Red Power Brick.
- The Joker Joker Card
- (S) At the beginning of the fourth area, destroy two white boxes on the right to build two glowing red targets. Hit them with a character with boomerang to turn them green and reveal this Joker Card.
Unlockables[]
After completing the level, you unlock a SWAT (Officer). In the Batcave you can buy Harley Quinn, Batman (Classic), Lucius Fox, Dr. Jeremiah Arkham, Talia and Killer Moth (Alternate). In addition you will have the complete game and you can go to previous levels to play them in Free Play to get Minikits and Red Power Bricks that you couldn't before and get missing True Hero/Villain. After collecting the Red Power Brick, you can purchase Fast Build.
