The Ghost ability is defined as anyone who is virtually invincible: they can not lose health or studs. If they fall off a cliff, they will not lose studs. Ghosts have the unique trait of being able to be solid and kill enemies, but they aren't noticed by enemies. In the handheld version of LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4, ghost characters can also pass through gates to reach different areas.

Trivia

• In LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga, when both players choose to play as Ghost character or bot is controlling the ghost in Darth Vader, and characters are never change, then this level can't be completed. In the final phase of this level both players are fighting against each other, but since Force Ghosts can't be hit by other characters, the game softlocks.
