Fun to Build consists of the four main LEGO themes at the time all combined together into a single game, being the first LEGO game ever released but was Japan exclusive.
About the Game[]
Not much is known about Fun to Build's backstory, as it was never released elsewhere due to being on the relatively obscure Sega Pico which didn't do well outside of Japan. The game itself takes the themes that were popular at the time and uses them for the basis of four main screens with minigames and the last two pages being a free build mode and a free draw mode for the stylus. The main LEGO screens allow the player to build vehicles that were based on actual sets out at the time.
Town[]
The basic LEGO town, the precursor to the still ongoing LEGO City theme. The player's vehicles are the 6350 Pizza To Go car, the 6338 Hurricane Harbor boat, chopper and car and the 6484 Formula 1 Hauler car. The latter four vehicles are used in the race while the pizza car is used for the pizza delivery mission.
Aquazone[]
This was one of the main themes that only lasted for four years, based around a team of underwater explorers collecting crystals off the ocean floor while battling a group known as the Aquasharks. Both factions have vehicles the player can build, for the Aquazone there's the 6195 Neptune Discovery Lab sub and crane arm and the 6125 Sea Sprint 9, for the Aquasharks there's the 6115 Shark Scout and the 6155 Deep Sea Predator.
Castle[]
The classic Castle theme that will be used in more games in the future, as King Leo and Cedric the Bull reappear in LEGO Island 2: The Brickster's Revenge and LEGO Creator: Knight's Kingdom. The builds here are the 6802 Fire Breathing Fortress, the 6090 Royal Knight's Castle, the 6048 Majisto's Magical Workshop, the 6056 Dragon Wagon and the 6044 King's Carriage. This has only a single minigame with two different levels while the others have two separate minigames.
Space[]
This page actually takes more from the two Space subthemes, Spyrius and Ice Planet 2002, the builds here are the 6939 Saucer Centurion, the 6834 Celestial Sled, the 6889 Recon Robot, the 6835 Saucer Scout, the 6973 Deep Freeze Defender and the 6983 Ice Station Odyssey rocket. This has the most builds, six while the other themes have only five.
