Escape from Echo Base is the twenty-second level in the Nintendo DS version of LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga. It is the second level of The Empire Strikes Back.

Episode V

ESCAPE FROM ECHO BASE

Imperial forces have mounted

a relentless assault on the

rebel base on Hoth. The rebel

fighters have held out bravely,

but the enemy is

overwhelming.

In the Echo base command

center, carved deep into the

ice of the frozen planet, Han

Solo and Princess Leia

monitor the evacuation of

rebel personnel.

But as stormtroopers breach

the outer defences, they must

quickly find an escape route

for themselves....

Story

However, the Empire still wins, so Han Solo and Princess Leia escape from Echo Base. They fight many Snowtroopers on the way to the Falcon and encounter C-3PO and Chewbacca. As they leave Hoth, Luke heads to Dagobah.

Walkthrough

You start in a systems room. Go right, build a stove and push it towards the ice to melt it. Then, go through the newly melted door to reach the next area.

In the next area, defeat two Snowtroopers to the right and build a bomb. Stay away from the bomb to avoid taking damage and when it explodes, it will destroy some ice debris. Then, continue to the right, defeat two Snowtroopers, and push a stove onto another ice to melt it. After melting the ice with the stove, cross the gap on the right to reach the next area.

In the next area, go right while defeating four Snowtroopers. When you find a door with a protocol panel next to it, build a bomb on the right to destroy some ice debris, but be sure to stay away. Next, build a lever and pull it to open the door that will take you to the next area.

In the next area, you will find C-3PO trapped in an ice room. Push a stove into the ice room to melt it and free 3PO, joining your team. Then, return to the previous area.

Returning to the previous area, go to the door you saw before and use 3PO to open it.

In the next area, defeat many Snowtroopers until they stop appearing and then go right. Build a lever and pull it to activate a fan. Use that fan to reach the ledge above and go to the right while defeating more Snowtroopers. To the left of a fence, pull a lever to activate a conveyor belt and reveal a box. Push the box into a square hole to open the door to the right of the fence. Go through that door to reach the next area.

In the next area, defeat two Snowtroopers and jump across a small ledge. Then, go into the alcove on the right to reach the next area.

In the next area, climb the ledges on the right while defeating a Snowtrooper. Then, use your blaster to shoot a target into a huge icicle and make the icicle fall. Jump over the icicle and then jump to the ledge on the right while defeating two Snowtroopers. Get off the ledge and then shoot another target to make another icicle fall. Jump towards that icicle and shoot another target to make another icicle fall. Jump towards that newly fallen icicle and then jump to the next ledge while defeating two Snowtroopers. Shoot a target further to the right to make one more icicle fall, and then use it to reach the next ledge. Defeat two Snowtroopers there, build a protocol panel and use it with 3PO to open the door that will take you to the next area.

In the next area, push two boxes to open the door on the right. Then, go through that newly opened door to reach the final area of the level.

In the final area, defeat many Snowtroopers until they stop appearing. Then, on the left side, push two boxes into two square holes to disable a barrier. Have Han and Leia pull two levers to disable another barrier to the right. Use 3PO on a protocol panel to free up two control panels on either side of the middle door. Go to the center of the area, defeat five Snowtroopers, and destroy the two newly freed control panels to open the hangar door, at which point the level will end.

Collectables

S means that the collectible can be obtained both in Story and in Free Play. F means the collectible can only be obtained in Free Play.

• Minikit Canisters
  1. (F) At the beginning of the level, use a Jedi character on three computers and destroy them to reveal this minikit.
  2. (S) In the first area, you will see a protocol panel next to the door on the left side. Use a protocol droid on the panel to open the door and reach a special area. There, destroy a box in the middle to build this minikit and get it. It is possible to obtain this minikit in Story after C-3PO joins your team in the fourth area and then you return to the first area.
  3. (F) Find three grape blocks throughout the level to get this minikit:
     1. In the second area, destroy two crates next to the ice debris to reveal this grape block.
     2. On the left side of the special area where you get the tenth minikit, destroy two crates to reveal this grape block.
     3. On the far left of the final area, destroy a box to reveal this grape block.
  4. (F) In the third area, destroy a box on the right side to reveal intact pieces. Use a Sith character on them to build an astromech panel and use an astromech droid on it to open a door that will take you to a special area. There, use a bounty hunter to destroy a silver box and build two levers. Have both characters pull both levers to activate a conveyor belt above and drop a box which will be destroyed, revealing pieces. Use those pieces to build this minikit and get it.
  5. (S) After melting the ice in the fourth area, this minikit will appear on the high ledge to the right. It is possible to obtain this minikit in Story if you try to jump to the ledge and then switch characters when you reach the corner.
  6. (F) In the fifth area, you will find some intact pieces in the lower left corner. Use a Jedi character on them to build a bounty hunter panel and use a bounty hunter on the panel to open a door that will take you to a special area. There, build a snowman and destroy it to reveal this minikit.
  7. (F) On the far right of the fifth area, you'll find an Imperial panel next to a door. Use an Imperial member on the panel to open the door and reach a special area. There, defeat two Snowtroopers and build a stove to melt some ice debris, revealing this minikit.
  8. (F) After jumping to the ledge that comes after the first icicle in the first area, use a double jump character to reach the ledge on the left. There, stay to the far left and use a Jedi character to make three icicles fall. Then, jump over those three icicles to reach this minikit.
  9. (F) Before jumping to the second icicle in the seventh area, go down from the ledge and you will see some silver boxes on the left. Use a bounty hunter to destroy them and reveal this minikit. You can return to the ledge above by pulling a lever to activate an elevator.
  10. (F) In the eighth area, you'll see an astromech panel next to a door to the north. Use an astromech droid on it to open the door and reach a special area. There, use a bounty hunter to destroy some silver boxes in the lower right corner and reach the other side of the area. On the other side of the area, build a medical computer to open a cylinder and reveal this minikit.

• Regenerate Hearts Red Power Brick
  • (F) On the left side of the final area, use a double jump character to jump over the platforms above until you reach the highest one. On the highest platform, use a Jedi character to lower three platforms and then jump over them to reach the very high ledge on the right. There, pull a lever on the right to open a long door on the right side of the area. Climb down from the ledge, go to the right side and use a bounty hunter on a bounty hunter panel to reveal this Red Power Brick.Climb down from the ledge, go to the right side and use a bounty hunter on a bounty hunter panel to reveal this Red Power Brick.

Unlockables

The minikit model in this level is a Snowspeeder. After completing the level, you unlock Han Solo (Hoth) and Princess Leia (Hoth). In Mos Eisley Cantina you can buy Han Solo (Hood), a Snowtrooper and Luke Skywalker (Hoth). You will also be able to continue to Falcon Flight. After collecting the Red Power Brick, you can purchase Regenerate Hearts.
