Dying of Laughter is the fifteenth and final villain level of LEGO Batman: The Videogame. It is the fifth and final villain level of The Joker's Return.

Opening Dialogue[]

"If only all of Gotham could be this

beautiful, Harley - so HOLLOW and EMPTY."

"We've had some laughs, haven't we? But the

biggest one tonight will be on Gotham City."

"It'll be. A GAS! Ahoo Ahoo hoo hoo hoo!"

Story[]

After Killer Moth is taken to prison, The Joker and his girlfriend Harley Quinn finally arrive at Gotham Cathedral. They climb it to the highest point. There they build a machine. The two villains pair up, but the Joker pulls a lever to start the machine. He then stands on a platform. His girlfriend Harley Quinn turns a wheel to raise the platform. The Joker pulls another lever (but the scene fades out before he pulls it). Batman and Robin arrive to stop them.

Walkthrough[]

You start on the first floor of Gotham Cathedral. Defeat the first cops that come to attack you, then move on and defeat another army of cops. Use the Joker to destroy a generator and some lights, then build a wheeled object and push it to the left. Switch to Harley Quinn to reach some platforms. Then build a tightrope to cross to the other side. Destroy a ladder to lower it, then switch back to the Joker to lower an elevator. Step on the two elevator buttons to proceed to the next area.

In the next area, go to the right side. Switch to Harley Quinn to reach a bridge, then build a tightrope for the Joker to cross. Switch to the Joker to go down another elevator, then press two buttons again to get to another floor. Quickly run on a bridge that is destroyed when you pass it, then build the first part of a higher item. Double jump as Harley Quinn to reach the platform, then defeat two cops standing on that platform. Destroy some rubble to build a platform, then switch to the Joker to open a door and go through it to enter the final area of the level.

In the final area of the level, double jump with Harley Quinn to reach a platform. Destroy an object to build a platform, then jump onto the platform to get the Joker onto another platform. Press a pressure plate with the two characters to hit a bell and destroy a statue, then go to the left side. Double jump with Harley Quinn to reach a platform, then destroy some railings to build handholds. Double jump with Harley Quinn to reach another platform, then destroy some objects to build a lever. Pull the lever to lower a bridge and for the Joker to reach the platform. Press another pressure plate to hit another bell and destroy another statue. Defeat an army of cops coming to attack you, then build two electric poles to finish the level.

Collectables[]

S means that the collectible can be obtained both in Story and in Free Play. F means the collectible can only be obtained in Free Play.

Minikit Canisters
1. (S) At the start of the level, use Poison Ivy to water some plants. Use a high-jump character to reach a tightrope. Walk on it to reach this minikit.
2. (F) Use a high-jump character to reach a platform, then use Batman or Batgirl in the Sonic Suit to break a glass and get this minikit.
3. (F) Use a character with super strength to open a hatch and reveal this minikit.
4. (F) Use a character with explosives to destroy some silver doors, then build some stairs to reach this hidden minikit behind a pillar.
5. (F) Go left on the penultimate floor in the second area, then press a pressure plate with two high-jump characters on it to get this minikit.
6. (S) To the left of the fourth minikit, use a character that can glide to reach a platform where this minikit is.
7. (S) Use Robin or Nightwing in the Magnet Suit to scale a metal wall and reach this minikit.
8. (F) Use Mr. Freeze to build an ice statue, then destroy the statue to get this minikit.
9. (S) In the final area of the level, hit the bell left several times until this minikit appears.
10. (F) Use a character with explosives to destroy some silver objects, then build some turrets. Climb up one of these turrets and hit the four bells to reveal this minikit.

Invincibility Red Brick
- (F) Use a character with a Batarang to give two lights, then build a vehicle that can clean the floor. Clean up all the stains left on the floor to reveal this red brick on a staircase.

Civilian in Peril
- (S) The civilian is on a bridge that will be destroyed upon entering the second area, so it cannot be missed.

Unlockables[]

The minikit model in this level is the Joker's Helicopter. In the Batcave or Arkham Asylum you can buy a Police Marksman and The Joker (Tropical). In addition you would have the complete game and you can go to previous levels to play them in free play to get minikits and red bricks that you couldn't before and get missing Super Hero/Villain. After collecting the Red Brick, you can purchase Invincibility.
