Gotham City News[]
- Vicki Vale: It's another crazy night in Gotham, with Arkham escapees flooding through the city. We've got goons in the streets, thugs in the park and Poison Ivy in the Botanic Gardens. Even... er, Killer Moth, who's apparently tearing up the power station. "Killer Moth"? For real? Wow. Killer Moth. Who knew? And some kind of break-in at Ace Chemicals. Be careful out there, people!
Ace Chemicals Robberies[]
- [A ringing comes from Ace Chemicals, while a janitor cleans]
- [The janitor notices the Batmobile and Robin's Motorbike approaching]
- Janitor: Hmm... Whoa.
- [Batman parks the Batmobile and stops the ringing. He then grabs a deconstructed black brick]
- Batman: Just like Arkham.
- [Robin appears behind with other deconstructed black bricks]
- Robin: So I can stop carrying this? I mean, now we have other samples...
- [Batman turns his head "no", so Robin drops his samples]
- [The duo enter Ace Chemicals, not realizing that the pipes fall out when they open the door]
- Robin: That guy can't go anywhere without making a mess.
- Batman: He didn't just break in here to do this...
Investigation[]
- Batman: Promethium... [He throws the glasses at Robin] ...xenon, mercury, tantalum and dialum...
- Robin: Those aren't the chemicals he spilled all over the floor?
- Batman: No. He left the empty bottles down there, and it wasn't any of these. What he stole was to make something else...
- [The entrance bomb explodes]
- Robin: So... uh... we're going to leave now, right?
- Batman: Yes...
- [Batman grabs his friend and uses his hook to escape]
Superman to the Rescue![]
- [Batman and Robin land on top of a large box, and in an attempt to get to safety, Batman throws his friend into the fire and jumps]
- [Before the duo fall into the fire, Superman comes to save them, accompanied by his theme]
- Superman: Hi guys.
- Robin: Wow!
- Batman: Calm down.
- [Superman uses his Freeze Breath to put out the fire and leave the duo safe]
- Robin: Again, wow. That is great. [He gives Superman a hug] Isn't that great, Batman?
- Batman: Destroyed all the evidence of the crime scene...
Saved at Ace Chemicals[]
- [A large tower of water falls, causing the fire inside to go out]
- Superman: So, who blew this up?
- Batman: Long story, we've got it covered.
- Superman: Okay, well, just let me know-- Uhp, Volcano in Mexico. Call me if you need me.
- [Superman flies away]
- Robin: Uh, Batman, maybe he could be of help with this. I mean, he's had a lot of experience dealing with Lex Luthor.
- Batman: We don't need him.
- Robin: Well, it seems like just now we needed him...
- Batman: We would've been fine jumping off the roof.
- Robin: I think we would've broken our legs...
- Batman: We've broken our legs before...
- Robin: Yeah, but I didn't like it. I mean, if we just call him...
- Batman: Robin, we can't go through life expecting Superman or anyone else to save us whenever things get tough. The only people who can rely on is ourselves. Batcomputer tie in.
- Batcomputer: Batcomputer remote tie in active.
- Batman: Access chemical database: [As he talks, a Fire Engine comes up behind him and the driver says something to Robin] What substance can be produced through a combination of the following chemicals: Promethium, xenon, mercury, tantalum and dialum.
- Batcomputer: Accessing... No substance found.
- Batman: What substance can be approximated through the combination of the chemicals?
- Batcomputer: Accessing... Listed chemicals can combine to form an approximation of kryptonite.
- [The Fire Engine behind drives away and Robin says goodbye to it]
- Robin: Kryptonite? We better call Superman...
- Batman: We're... not... going to call... Superman! Activate tracking system, detect nearby sources of Kryptonite.

Story[]
At Ace Chemicals, Batman and Robin discover that Joker had already been there and had coincidentally stolen some of the chemicals. They try to leave when a fire begins and just before they fall into the fire, Superman rescues them in the nick of time. Fortunately, they are able to escape. Batman tries to find out what the Joker is creating with the chemicals and finds out it is Kryptonite: Superman's greatest weakness. He uses the Batcomputer to find Kryptonite in nearby locations and see if Joker is there and head downtown.
Walkthrough[]
Level Prelude[]
After finishing the previous level, you will appear at the entrance to Arkham Asylum. Alfred will activate the Batcomputer Remote Terminals, but using them is optional. Hop on the Batmobile or Robin's Motorbike and follow the ghost stud path until you reach a wall blocking your path. Go to the left of the wall, put on the Electricity Suit as Batman and use it to absorb electricity from an electrical outlet next to it. That way, the wall blocking your path will go to the ground. Return to your vehicle and follow the ghost stud path until you reach Ace Chemicals to start the level.
Level Walkthrough[]
You start at the entrance to Ace Chemicals. You have to be careful with the chemicals on the floor (to clean them you have to use Robin's Hazard Suit, which you can find near the starting point). Move to the right side and destroy a bottle and other items near the corner. After that, use the bricks to build a lever and pull it to access the Hazard Suit. Put it on as Robin, move to the right, go up the stairs and jump into the pool on the right side. Pull the lever at the bottom of the pool to raise a platform, jump on it and press the action button to investigate the first chemical sample. The door on the right will be destroyed. Eliminate Clown Goons and move to the right. As you move to the right, Clown Goons on a balcony will also attack you, but you can throw a Batarang or Birdarang at them (depending on which hero you control) to prevent them from bothering you. At some point, you will reach an elevator that will explode, creating an electric ladder. Destroy four bricks surrounding the platform in the center of the room and turn the valve on the left. Use Robin to clean the chemicals from the platform and put on the Electricity Suit as Batman. Climb the ladder on the left and absorb the electricity from an electrical outlet so Robin can climb up. Now move to the left and investigate another sample of chemicals. Switch to Robin, move him to the top of the ladder on the left side, defeat Clown Goons, and jump to the water-filled container on the right. Eventually you will come to a lever. Pull it to drain the container so Batman can reunite with his friend. When the entrance opens, go through it. Go down the stairs at the bottom of the screen and shoot water with Robin's Hazard Suit to clear the chemicals on the floor on the left side (if you don't have water, you can jump into the small pool at the bottom right). Use the bricks to build a panel and put on the Magnet Suit as Robin. Go back up and move towards the blue pipes. Then use them to take Robin to a higher floor (Batman will join him by climbing an electric ladder). Move to the left and use Robin to pull the large magnesium to the right. It will open the flap. Now use Batman on the electrical outlet in the upper left corner, which will reveal the chemical tank with a third of the samples. Investigate the chemical tank by pressing the action button and cross the bridge that will be activated, but not before defeating some Clown Goons. At the end of the bridge, use Robin's magnesium to lower a ladder and use it to climb higher. When you reach another bridge, it will explode. Use the bricks to build a walkway and use it to jump to the opposite ledge. Move to the right and wait until a box arrives. Now quickly jump towards it, jump to the wall and to the next ledge. Use Robin's magnesium on the blue containers in the background and jump to the higher platform where you will find other chemical samples. Investigate it and a box with two Clown Goons will appear on the right side. Defeat the Clown Goons, move to the right and use the boxes to reach the opposite ledge. Use Batman to absorb the electricity from an electrical outlet on the right and put on Robin's Hazard Suit again. Position Robin in the orange hole with chemicals, fill the container and shoot the orange hole in the wall. Fill it and repeat all actions with other holes in the wall (remember to always choose the correct color of acid). When the water replaces the acid on the right, use Batman to jump into it, swim to the opposite shore and climb up. Absorb electricity from an outlet to turn off the power and have Robin join Batman, and then switch to him to throw water at the chemicals at a lever near the fence. After this, pull the lever to move to the next location. At the next location, take out the Clown Goons, get on a forklift, go left and press the attack button while the second character is there to lift the load so the hero can climb up. Then, hit a ladder to get the other hero up and pull a lever to open a trapdoor. However, steam will come out, so you won't be able to enter yet. Go right, use Batman to avoid being electrocuted, climb up the handholds and pull a lever to open another trapdoor. When both trapdoors are open, switch to Robin, go to the trapdoor on the left and enter it. Swim to the top shelf of the main chamber and pull another lever. When the water escapes, investigate the last chemical sample by pressing the action button to move to the next area.
In the next area, move to the right and use Robin to clean up the chemicals on the floor (near the left wall you can build a device to fill a small pool with water). At the end, put out the fire on the left side and use the bricks to build a panel with the Acrobat Suit for Robin. Put it on as Robin, throw the pole into the first hole over the chasm, and use other poles to reach the second ledge. After landing, use the trackball on the platform in the center of the room to activate a bridge (Batman can use it to reach the opposite edge). Use Batman on the first one and the next one on the second electrical outlet. When the bricks fall, build a panel with Batman's Power Suit. Put it on as Batman to pull the handle on the right, which will destroy the lock on the bridge. In the next part, defeat the Clown Goons, use Batman to destroy the silver bricks on the right side, and use a stick to move Robin to the upper floor. Use the bricks on the floor to build a grappling point for Batman. When he goes up, switch to him, move to the right and pull an orange handle. You will reach a gap that is between two white and blue walls. Use Robin to get to the top of these walls. Jump to the left side and destroy the glowing bricks near the edge. When the ladder falls, Batman is able to join Robin. Move to the left and use Batman to fire an explosive rocket at the silver bell tower. Then use it to reach the opposite ledge and destroy the silver blockade in your way using Batman. Move to the right and take out more Clown Goons. After that, destroy two machines on the left and right sides of the screen in front of you. Use the bricks to build a platform, use Robin's trackball and move the cursor to the image at the bottom right of the screen and press the attack button (repeat with the image at the top right). This will block gas leaks from the overhead pipes. Then use the stairs on the left to get there and continue to the right. Defeat more Clown Goons. At some point, you'll find another orange handle. Pull it with Batman. Move to the new location with Robin and use the white and blue walls to climb to the platform above on the right side. Transform into a trackball on the platform and go down the elevator. So, use it to transport Batman on the right side. After that, throw Robin's stick into the hole above the platform and jump to the next ledge. Move Batman to the bottom right, put the Electricity Suit back on, use a hook on the grappling point to climb up, and absorb the electricity from an electrical outlet. This will open the door on the right. Now throw Robin's stick over the first puddle of acid and jump over the others until you reach the ground. Then, pull a lever to close the acid containers. Move Batman to the right side and use him to absorb electricity from an electrical outlet. At the end, jump to the container that will appear on the right to move to the next area.
In the next area, you will be able to control Superman, who can fly, freeze water with his Freeze Breath and shoot and destroy gold objects with his laser. Fly to the platform on the left and pull an orange handle. When the water puts out the fire, freeze it with Superman (Batman and Robin will be able to climb the ice wall). Start heading right, defeat more Clown Goons, destroy the furniture next to a Robin panel, and build a panel with the Power Suit for Batman. Destroy the nearby silver bricks and put on the Hazard Suit as Robin. Continue to the right and when you reach a green wall use Superman's X-Ray Vision to activate three valves. This will open three trapdoors in the wall at the bottom of the screen. Go there with Robin, fill the container with orange liquid and shoot the orange hole. Repeat this action with the other two holes (the green and purple liquid containers are in the next part on the right). When the water starts dripping, freeze it with Superman and jump to the platform on the right. You will arrive at a place with electricity. To turn off the power, put the Electricity Suit back on as Batman (you have to go back to the left side) and absorb the electricity at the electrical outlet in the center of the room. Now fly like Superman to the right where you will find a golden square part of a wall. Hold the attack button to use the laser and draw an outline of the shape inside. After that, the dynamic duo will be able to join Superman using their respective hooks. Then continue to the right. After a while, you'll find another golden part of a wall. Use Superman to cut it with the laser, freeze the water and climb to the top. Move to the right and use Batman to absorb the electricity from an electrical outlet. This way you will open an elevator. Have the trio enter to go to the final area of the level.
In the final area of the level, you will reach the roof. Go to the right side with Superman and Batman with the Electricity Suit. Use the first hero to destroy two gold objects in the upper left corner and use the bricks to build a ladder. Then, use it to move Batman on the platform and absorb the electricity from an electrical outlet. Return to the left side of the roof and put on Batman's Power Suit again. Go back to the right side and use Batman to destroy the silver bricks under the tank on the right to finish the level.
Collectables[]
S means that the collectible can be obtained both in Story and in Free Play. F means the collectible can only be obtained in Free Play.
- Minikit Canisters
- (F) At the beginning of the level, use a flying character and heat (like Superman) to fly and destroy a golden lid to reveal this minikit.
- (F) On the right side of the second tank with chemicals, use the Penguin to destroy some silver tubes and get on the steam that will come out in front to reach this minikit.
- (F) In a zone with chemicals on the floor where you can find the Magnet Suit for Robin, on the left side of the suit is the pool. Use Lex Luthor's Deconstructor to deconstruct black bricks near the fence, build a platform, and pull a handle with a character with super strength. This way this minikit will appear.
- (F) When you pass the damaged bridge, put on the Power Suit as Batman and fire an explosive rocket at a silver pole to make the lasers disappear and reach this minikit.
- (F) To get this minikit, you will have to find three gifts:
- The first one is in a room with chemicals on the floor. After putting out the fire near the wall at the top of the screen with Robin, use Lex to deconstruct black bricks. That way, a chimpanzee will come out and then it will explode.
- The second one is in the location with three hatches that open electrically. Open the one on the right side and destroy the box that will fall.
- The third one is in the location of the computer screen. Destroy a purple and green wall, use the Joker on the electrical outlet in the lower right corner, and use the cursor on the image in the lower left corner. Destroy the gift to reveal a toy.
- (F) At the place with antennas, use a heat character to destroy a gold object and use Green Lantern to build a jumping object with the green bricks. It will become this minikit.
- (S) To get this minikit, you will have to put out five fires in the third area:
- The first one is on the left side at the beginning of the area.
- The second one on the high platform near the furniture on the right side.
- The third one in the room with three holes in the floor (in the lower right corner).
- The fourth one on a walkway between two tankers.
- The fifth one is on the right side of the elevator.
- (F) At the start of the third area, use a magnet character to pull the fin on the right and move the ball to the center of the maze using a screw (you must jump the valves in the following order: red, blue, green, yellow). When the ball reaches the surface, destroy it to reveal this minikit.
- (F) In the third area (the same one where you need to turn off the electricity), move towards the flowers on the left side of the fence and use Poison Ivy on them. That way you will get to this minikit.
- (S) In the final area, you must destroy five golden air conditioners with a heat character:
- Two of them are on the left roof, near you.
- To get to the third one, fly as a flying character and look at the wall on the left.
- The last two are on the right roof: one is in the upper right corner and the next is on the right side of the large tanker.
- Civilian in Peril
- (F) In the third area, just before the place, with three tanks on the ground, use a character with hook, go up, destroy the glass wall on the right with a sonar character, and throw a Batarang at the three valves. That way, the fire inside the room where the citizen is located will go out, and the citizen will exit through a door and be rescued.
Unlockables[]
The minikit model in this level is a Joker's Helicopter. In Gotham City you will be able to continue to Chemical Signature.
