Breaking Blocks is the fifth villain level of LEGO Batman: The Videogame. It is the fifth and final villain level of The Riddler's Revenge.

Opening Dialog[]

"The FREEZE CANNON, the VINE SEEDS, the
SUPER LASER and THE KEY; all pieces of a
glorious puzzle. Put them together, and what
have we got?"
"The GOTHAM GOLD RESERVES!"
"Our prize awaits."

Story[]

In their secret base, with all the objectives fulfilled, the Riddler and Two-Face head to the Gold Reserve to complete their great objective. First they use the ice cannon to cross the sea, then they destroy the ice trail to prevent the police from reaching them. They then go up using the giant tree and try to destroy the silver doors with the mega cannon, but the shot is deflected by the silver doors and the mega cannon is destroyed but they manage to destroy the silver doors by controlling a cop driving a helicopter and enter the reserves. Finally they use the key to open the safe and use a robot to destroy the metal wall. Thinking they have achieved their goal, Batman and Robin arrive to stop them.

Walkthrough[]

You start at the entrance to the Gold Reserve. Go to your right to meet some handholds. Use them to climb up and destroy a white object to build a plug. Push the plug into the outlet to turn on some antennas, then smash a lock as Two-Face to climb a ladder. Plug in another plug to power up other antennas and destroy a large object, then build a mind-controlling chair. Use the Riddler to control the Police Helicopter and destroy the gate at the entrance to the Gold Reserve, then head into the next area.

In the next area, destroy some sofas to build some mechanisms. Turn mechanisms to open doors in the civilian's room, then control the civilian's mind with the Riddler to pull a lever. Head to the next area.

In the next area, use Two-Face to destroy a fuse box. Then destroy a box to build a gold item. Push the item into the lasers to destroy them. Then break some objects to build a mechanism. Put Two-Face in the elevator and have the Riddler turn the mechanism so that he goes up. Switch to Two-Face to destroy a lock and pull a lever to make the Riddler go up, then switch back to him to control a civilian's mind and pull a lever. Then go into the next area.

In the next area, destroy the fuse boxes with Two-Face to disable some lasers. Use Two-Face to cross a toxic gas, then pull a lever to reveal a crate. Push the box to open some doors, then destroy some generators so that the toxic gas disappears and the Riddler can cross. Press two buttons to bring down some lasers, then destroy a fuse box as Two-Face to disable other lasers and go to the final area .

In the final area, use Two-Face to walk on acid and pull a lever to open the safe. Then build a trampoline to reach a box. Push it to knock it over and build a lever. Pull the lever to open some windows. Use the Riddler to manipulate the mind of a civilian and go up a ladder. Destroy the boxes to build a mechanism. Turn it to open a door. Pull a lever to destroy a big box and build a robot. Drive the robot to destroy the silver wall. Enter the safe to finish the level.

Collectables[]

S means that the collectible can be obtained both in Story and in Free Play. F means the collectible can only be obtained in Free Play.

  • Minikit Canisters
    1. (S) At the start of the level, go to your left to find a destroyed ladder. Drop down to find this minikit.
    2. (F) Destroy three cameras with the helicopter to reveal this minikit, then use a high-jump character to get to it:
      1. On the left side, near a silver box.
      2. On the right side, near a vent.
      3. On the right side, in the parking lot.
    3. (S) Shoot three panels below boxes to change them, then build a lever and pull it to reveal this minikit.
    4. (F) Use Robin or Nightwing in the Attract Suit to attract 25 pieces, then place the pieces in an attraction machine to build a metal wall. Use the same characters with the Magnet Suit to climb the wall and get this minikit.
    5. (F) Use a character with super strength to push a book cabinet and break a wall to reveal this minkit.
    6. (F) In the area where you rescue the civilian in danger, destroy a silver box with a character with explosives to get this minikit.
    7. (F) Next to the box you have to push, use a character with explosives to get this minikit.
    8. (F) Destroy four golden pig statues to reveal this minikit. They are immune to guns:
      1. Destroy some fences with a character that can shoot long distances, then use a high-jump character to reach this statue.
      2. Use The Joker or his tropical version to open some doors and destroy this statue.
      3. Near the generators.
      4. Near the entrance to the last area.
    9. (F) Use Batman or Batgirl in the Sonic Suit to destroy a glass object and build a metal wall, then use Robin or Nightwing in the Magnet Suit to scale the wall. Push a cage with the minikit to destroy it and get this minikit.
    10. (F) Use a character with explosives to enter the civilian area in the last area, then destroy a silver crate to get this minikit.
  • Score x10 Red Brick
    • (F) In the area where you rescue the civilian in distress, destroy some boxes next to the civilian to build a golden item. Push the object into a glass wall. Use Batman or Batgirl in the Sonic Suit to destroy the wall and a fuse box. Use a character with explosives to destroy a silver safe and get this red brick.
  • Civilian in Peril
    • (F) Use a character with explosives to destroy a silver door and enter a special area where the civilian will be in danger.

Unlockables[]

The minikit model in this level is a Defense Robot. In the Batcave or Arkham Asylum you can buy a S.W.A.T. and Riddler's Jet. You would also have completed this episode and you can play the rest depending on how you go. After collecting the Red Brick, you can purchase Score x10.
