Botanical Gardens is the fourth villain level in the Nintendo DS version of LEGO Batman: The Videogame. It is the fourth villain level of The Bullion Dollar Riddle.

Story

They return to their secret base. While Two-Face fixes his broken-down truck, the Riddler sees a book that says a spiked ball can grow tall plants. Realizing this, he recruits Poison Ivy and heads with her to the Botanical Gardens. However, upon heading there, they notice that the gates are guarded by Police Officers, so instead of opening them, they enter the gardens through the skylight of a building. They then infiltrate the gardens and eventually enter a room where they find a plant with spiky balls. Poison Ivy grabs one of the balls and gives it to the Riddler, having completed the Riddler's third objective.

Walkthrough

You start at the entrance to the Botanical Gardens. Since you can't open the gates, use Poison Ivy to walk through an acid to the right. Build a lever and pull it to raise two platforms for the Riddler. Next, build a grapple point and use the Riddler on it to reach the platform above. On that platform, step on a square button to build a pole point for Poison Ivy. This pole point allows Poison Ivy to reach the platform. Have both characters step on two buttons to build another grapple point. Use the Riddler on it to reach the ledge above and step on another square button to build a ladder. Have both characters pull two levers to build another grapple point. Use it with the Riddler to knock down a box and build a ladder. Climb up it, build a TNT detonator on the right and press it to blow up the explosive barrels on the right. After blowing up the barrels, continue to the right, build a lever on top of some acid and use Poison Ivy to pull it. This will extend two steps. Climb them and use the Riddler on a grapple point to reach the ledge above. Step on a square button to build a ladder for Poison Ivy. Then, have both characters step on two buttons to open the fence. When you cross the fence, two guards below will notice you and use their guns to shoot you. Drop down from the ledge and defeat the two guards. After defeating them, use Poison Ivy to cross a toxic gas, build a lever and pull it to turn off the gas. Use the Riddler on another grapple point to reach the platform above and two guards on the ledge above will attack you. Climb up the ledges and defeat the two guards. Then, step on a square button to build a pole point, which will allow Poison Ivy to reach the platform. Build a button with Poison Ivy and step on it to lower a ladder. Climb the ladder and cross an acid on the left with Poison Ivy. Build a lever and pull it to raise two platforms for the Riddler. Have both characters step on two buttons to open a skylight that will take you to the next area.

In the next area, use Poison Ivy to cross a toxic gas, build a lever and pull it to turn off the gas. Go to the right and two guards will attack you. Defeat them, build a grapple point to the right and use the Riddler on it to reach the ledge above. On that ledge, step on a square button to build a ladder for Poison Ivy. Next, build two levers and have both characters pull them to destroy a box with a clown logo in the slot, turning off another toxic gas and opening a gate on the left. Go back left, build a pole point and use it with Poison Ivy to reach the ledge above. Step on another square button to build a ladder for the Riddler. Next, build a box with a water drop logo, push it into the slot in the front, and have both characters pull two levers to make the water escape and grow a tall plant. Head back to the right, climb up the tall plant, and have both characters pull two levers to open the doors that will take you to the final area.

In the final area, drop down from the platform and defeat two guards below. Then go to the right, build two levers and have both characters pull them to destroy a box with a clown logo in the slot, turning off a toxic gas and allowing build a box with a water drop logo to the left. Build the box with a water drop logo, push it into the slot on the front and have both characters pull two more levers to make more water escape and grow another tall plant. Climb up the tall plant, go right and have both characters step on two buttons to open the door in front. Go through it to finish the level.

Collectables

S means that the collectible can be obtained both in Story and in Free Play. F means the collectible can only be obtained in Free Play.

• Minikit Canisters
  1. (F) At the start of the level, use the Silver Key on a silver door on the left to open a door and find this minikit.
  2. (S) Find three Riddler tokens throughout the level to get this minikit:
     1. At the start of the level, destroy a trash can in the upper left corner to reveal this Riddler token.
     2. In the zone where you fight the first two guards in the first area, destroy a chimney in the lower left corner to reveal this Riddler token.
     3. In the final area, destroy a green bush to the right of the water machine to reveal this Riddler token.
  3. (F) At the start of the level, use an immune to toxins character with super strength to walk on the acid and build some golden handles. Pull them to destroy a wall and reveal this minikit.
  4. (F) At the start of the second area, climb a ladder and use an explosive character to destroy a red panel on the left and build a tightrope. Walk along it with a character capable of doing so to reach the platform with this minikit.
  5. (F) In the center of the final area, you will find a red box. Use an explosive character to destroy it and build a suit swapper. Use with Robin or Nightwing to put on the Magno Suit. Then, climb up to the tall plant and use a glide character to return to the platform on the left. Use the Magno Suit to climb a metal wall on the left and jump to the ledge on the right to reach this minikit.

• Gotham Streets (Hero) Red Power Brick
  • (S) When you reach the first high ledge in the first area, use a high-jumper character to cross the gap on the left and reach this Red Power Brick.

• Poison Ivy Joker Card
  • (F) In the final area, destroy a purple bush to the right of the gas machine to build a button. Step on it to build a hatch on the right platform. Enter it with a small character and jump to the ledge on the left to reach this Joker Card.

Unlockables

After completing the level, you unlock a Security Guard. In the Batcave you can buy Poison Ivy (Alternate). In Arkham Asylum you will be able to continue to Gotham Bullion Fortress. After collecting the Red Power Brick, you can purchase Gotham Streets (Villain).
