Botanical Gardens is the fourth hero level in the Nintendo DS version of LEGO Batman: The Videogame. It is the fourth hero level of The Bullion Dollar Riddle.

Story

The duo head to the Batcave and use the Batcomputer to investigate the plant. They discover that the plant comes from Botanical Gardens. Heading there, they notice the Riddler and Poison Ivy. The villain duo also notices them and runs away. Ivy uses a spiked ball to grow a tall plant, forcing the duo to grow it downwards. They spend time exploring the Botanical Gardens and defeating Ivy Goons, until they finally find Poison Ivy. When she is defeated in a confrontation, she throws a poisonous plant at Robin, leaving him unconscious. Batman, who is saved from being knocked unconscious, throws a whip at Ivy and trips her, knocking her unconscious. Robin manages to wake up, but is knocked unconscious again when the Riddler drops a box with a clue onto his head from an upper balcony. The Riddler escapes while Ivy is taken to Arkham Asylum.

Walkthrough

You start outside the Botanical Gardens. Build a suit swapper and use it to put on Batman's Demolition Suit. Then go left, build another suit swapper and use it to put on Robin's Bio Suit. With the Bio Suit, you will be immune to acid. Walk to the grassy zone in the background, build a button and step on it to raise two platforms for Batman. By doing this, a flower will reveal his identity as an Ivy Goon. Defeat him and another flower will reveal his identity as another Ivy Goon that you must also defeat. After defeating both Ivy Goons, build a grapple point and use it as Batman to reach the ledge above. On that ledge, build a lever and pull it to build a ladder for Robin. Switch to Robin, walk a tightrope to reach the ledge on the right, build another button and step on it to build another ladder. Climb the ladder to reach the ledge above, switch to Batman, place a detonator near a red box and detonate it to destroy the box and build a box with a clown logo. Push it into the slot in front and have both characters pull two levers to generate toxic smoke that causes a tall plant to grow downwards. Then, go back to the start and go to the zone behind the downed plant. Go right and an Ivy Goon will come out of an acid. Defeat him, go even further to the right and another Ivy Goon will come out of another acid. Defeat him as well, go back left, build a grapple point and use it with Batman to reach the branch above. On that branch, use another grapple point to cross the acid, place a detonator near a red box and detonate it to destroy the box and build a button. Step on it to build a ladder for Robin. Climb the ladder with Robin and pull a lever above some acid to make one of the two red lights turn green. Do the same on the right side to turn the other red light green. With both red lights turning green, the doors that will take you to the next area will open. Drop down from the ledge and go to the next area.

In the next area, you will see a container that needs water. Build a grapple point and use it with Batman to lower a bridge. Go to the right of the bridge, build a lever and pull it to drain the water level and fill the container. Continue to the right and you will see another tall plant. Continue to the right, being careful not to fall into the pool. Build another box with a clown logo, push it into the slot in front, and have both characters pull two levers to make another toxic smoke make the tall plant grow downwards, revealing pieces. Head back left, use the pieces to build another grapple point, and use it with Batman to lower another bridge. Go to the right of this bridge, build another lever and pull it to empty the pool and fill another container. Build a fan on the right side of the pool and use it to lift your character up to the walkway above. Go left, use Batman to place a detonator near a red box and detonate it to destroy the box and build a hatch. Enter it with Robin and quickly step on four square buttons to turn them green and open a door below. Go through the newly opened door to reach the final area.

In the final area, you'll face Poison Ivy in a boss fight. She will throw explosive rocks at you from a high ledge, so dodge them. She will never come down from her ledge, so you'll have to electrocute her, but two plants protect the levers needed for the shock. To grow down the one on the right, go to the right side, build a grapple point and use it with Batman to reach the right ledge. On that ledge, build a button and step on it to build a ladder for Robin. Then, place a detonator near a red box and detonate it to destroy the box and build a box with a clown logo. Push it into the slot and have both characters pull two levers to make a toxic smoke grow down the right plant. To grow down the one on the left, use Robin to cross the acid on the left side and step on a button to raise three platforms for Batman. Build another grapple point and use it with Batman to reach the left ledge. On that ledge, build another button and step on it to build another ladder for Robin. Then, place a detonator near another red box and detonate it to destroy the box and build another box with a clown logo. Push it into the slot in front and have both characters pull two levers to make a toxic smoke grow down the left plant. With the two plants grown downwards, push a box in the center towards the machine. Then, place a detonator on one more red box and detonate it to destroy the box and build another grey box. Push it towards the machine and with the two grey boxes pushed, the two levers in the background will be activated. Have both characters pull them to electrocute Poison Ivy and end the level.

Collectables

S means that the collectible can be obtained both in Story and in Free Play. F means the collectible can only be obtained in Free Play.

• Minikit Canisters
  1. (F) In the acid on the left side of the first area, destroy a purple bush in the top right corner to build some golden handles. Pull them with an immune to toxins character with super strength to reveal this minikit.
  2. (S) Find three Riddler tokens throughout the level to get this minikit:
     1. In the acid on the left side of the first area, destroy a green bush on the left to reveal this Riddler token.
     2. After crossing the first pool in the second area, destroy a green bush near the stairs to reveal this Riddler token.
     3. On the left ledge of the final area, destroy a purple bush on the left to reveal this Riddler token.
  3. (F) At the far right of the first area, destroy a tree to build a gold door. Use the Gold Key on it to open a garage door and quickly step on three buttons to turn them green and build a ladder. This will cause a red box to fall to the ledge above. Climb the ladder and use an explosive character to destroy the red box and build a lever. Pull it to drain the central fountain and reveal this minikit.
  4. (S) After emptying the first pool in the second area, destroy all the plants in that pool to reveal this minikit.
  5. (S) On the right ledge of the final area, destroy a green bush on the right to reveal this minikit.

• Robin Joker Card
  • (S) In the first area, destroy a purple bush to the right of the fountain to reveal this Joker Card.

Unlockables

After completing the level, you unlock an Ivy Goon. In the Batcave you can buy Poison Ivy and Pamela Isley. You will also be able to continue to Gotham Bullion Fortress.
