Bionicle was one of Lego's original themes, famous for its world building and for creating new figurines rather than using the usual minifigures. It received a remake in 2016 but was poorly received by fans.
About The Franchise[]
The island of Mata Nui was once at peace until the spirit of Mata Nui's brother, Makuta grew jealous and cast his brother into a slumber while his darkness reigned over the island. The residents of Mata Nui, the Matoran all fled until their village elders, the Turaga told them of six legendary heroes known as Toa that will come to their aid. The Toa arrived in canisters supposedly from the heavens and landed on the island in order to meet with their villages and each other to take out Makuta once and for all.
The games were loosely based on the lore of the toyline as well as the movies released around the same time while also taking some liberties in order for the storyline to be playable.
