Batboat Chase is the eighth hero level in the Nintendo DS version of LEGO Batman: The Videogame. It is the third hero level of Power-Crazed Penguin.

Story[]

After taking Catwoman to Arkham Asylum, the group finds themselves on the roof of a building in search of the Penguin. Robin notices the Penguin, so he, upon being detected, flees to his submarine with Killer Croc. The duo hop into their sea vehicles and chase the Penguin in his submarine. Batman eventually shoots the submarine's thruster parts, breaking them, but not the entire submarine. The villain duo escape through a sewer pipe, which Batman and Robin then enter.

Walkthrough[]

You start off automatically sailing through the canals of Gotham. Your objective will be to reach the Penguin. Try to avoid all the obstacles you see on your way, as crashing into them can slow down your Batboat. You will also encounter Penguin Goon Submarines on your way, which will drop mines to stop you. Dodge the mines and shoot the Penguin Goon Submarines to destroy them. If you're trying to get studs, make sure to jump between ramps. The jump on a ramp can vary depending on the speed of the Batboat. Make sure to press the A button to use turbo so you can get to the Penguin quickly. Be careful of crashing into docks, as they can take away your hearts. If the Penguin reaches the end before you can catch him, no problem, he'll stay there until you catch him and can continue the level normally. When you reach the end, several boxes will fall from the sky. Dodge at least nine boxes. It is recommended to press the down arrow on the D-Pad to slow down and dodge the boxes easily. After dodging the boxes, you'll face Penguin's Submarine in a boss fight. It has 10 hearts, but if you reached it before reaching the end, you could have taken some from it. Dodge the missiles it throws at you and shoot it continuously until you remove its hearts to finish the level.

Collectables[]

Since it is a level that cannot be played in Free Play, all collectibles can only be obtained in Story.

  • Minikit Canisters
    1. Destroy five Penguin Goon Submarines to obtain this minikit.
    2. Find three Riddler tokens throughout the level to get this minikit:
      1. After crossing the first large ship, stay to the left side to jump over a ramp and reach this Riddler token in the air.
      2. Just before the first outcrop, stay to the left side to find this Riddler token.
      3. A little after the seven buttons that give you the Red Power Brick, hold the down arrow on the D-Pad to go slow and reach this Riddler token at the end of a large ship.
    3. When you reach the fourth large ship, press the down arrow on the D-Pad to slow the Batboat down a bit and reach this minikit on the right.
    4. Just before you reach the end, stay to the left side to jump over a ramp and reach this minikit in the air.
    5. In the boxes part, sail through five buttons without missing any to get this minikit:
      1. The first button is on the right side, a little after the start.
      2. The second button is on the left side, a little after a ramp.
      3. The third button is on the left side, a little after the previous one.
      4. The fourth button is on the right side, a little after the previous one.
      5. The fifth button is on the right side, a little after another ramp.
  • Gold Key Red Power Brick
    • Note: This Red Power Brick can also be obtained on the villain side of this level. Just after the studs that form an umbrella, sail through seven buttons without missing any to get this Red Power Brick. The first three on the right side, the next three on the left side, and the last one on the right side.
  • The Batboat Joker Card
    • Reach Penguin's Submarine before it reaches the end and remove at least four hearts to get this Joker Card. It is recommended to grab boost power ups to increase your turbo.

Unlockables[]

In the Batcave you will be able to continue to The Sewers. After collecting the Red Power Brick, you can purchase Gold Key.
