Star Wars: Episode II — Attack of the Clones is the second episode in the Game Boy Advance version of LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game.

Story[]

Ten years after Episode I, Anakin Skywalker has a nightmare in which his mother, Shmi Skywalker, is hunted by Tusken Raiders. Anakin wakes up and goes to Tatooine with Padmé Amidala. There, they rescue two Royal Guards from Tusken Raiders, enter Mos Eisley, and speak with Watto. Watto tells the heroes that Shmi has married a moisture farmer named Cliegg Lars. The heroes go to Lars' moisture farm and Cliegg himself tells them to build five antennas before telling them where Shmi went. After building five antennas, Cliegg tells Anakin and Amidala that a month ago, Shmi was kidnapped by a group of Tusken Raiders. Angry, Anakin leaves alone in a speeder to find Shmi. Fortunately, he arrives at a Tusken Raider Camp, where he finds his mom tied and beaten inside a tent. By bad luck, Shmi dies within seconds and Anakin is attacked by twenty-five Tusken Raiders. By his good luck, Anakin survives the invasion and later returns to Amidala.

On Geonosis, Obi-Wan Kenobi enters the Droid Factory to search for Count Dooku. Due to his bad luck, six Geonosians, including Dooku himself, surround and capture Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan calls Anakin and Amidala with the mission to rescue him.

Upon arriving at the Droid Factory, Amidala becomes trapped in a giant trash can, Anakin is knocked unconscious, and R2-D2 is tasked with saving them. With the help of a protocol droid, R2-D2 manages to save Anakin, and the next one saves Amidala. The heroes then rescue Obi-Wan and enter Dooku's Chamber. The heroes split in two, leaving Anakin and Obi-Wan to fight Dooku. However, Dooku uses his Electric Forces to knock out the Jedi, but is then confronted by Yoda. Yoda manages to defeat Dooku, but then creates a distraction for him and escapes on his Solar Sailor. Fortunately, Yoda saves the knocked out Jedi before they are crushed by a tower.

Characters[]

Differences from the film[]

  • All events prior to Anakin's nightmare are omitted, such as all scenes on Coruscant and all scenes on Kamino.
  • The only Naboo scene in the game is where Anakin leaves with Padmé to find Shmi.
  • Anakin and Amidala save two Royal Guards from Tusken Raiders on Tatooine. In the film, there are no Royal Guards on Tatooine.
  • Similar to Episode I, the game features Anakin and Amidala in Mos Eisley instead of Mos Espa.
  • Anakin arrives at the Tusken Raider Camp during dusk instead of night.
  • Shmi's funeral is omitted.
  • Obi-Wan's arrival on Geonosis is omitted. Instead, the level already begins with Obi-Wan inside the Droid Factory.
  • Jango Fett does not appear in all of Episode II, but can be purchased after completing the game. His clone son, Boba Fett, is also absent from the game.
  • C-3PO does not appear in the entire episode like the other two.
  • Shmi's funeral is omitted.
  • Obi-Wan is surrounded by Geonosians instead of Droidekas. Likewise, there are no Droidekas in all of Episode II.
  • Obi-Wan still uses his Episode I appearance in the game.
  • A protocol droid similar to TC-14 helps R2-D2 in the Droid Factory.
  • Anakin, Amidala and R2-D2 do not end up captured. Instead, they save Obi-Wan in a cutscene that doesn't appear in the game.
  • All scenes from the Geonosian Arena and all scenes from the Battle of Geonosis are omitted.
  • Dooku's Chamber is located in the Droid Factory instead of the hangar that Dooku flees.
  • The episode ends just as Yoda saves Anakin and Obi-Wan, also omitting the final scenes of the film.
