An Icy Reception is the second hero level of LEGO Batman: The Videogame. It is the second hero level of The Riddler's Revenge.

Opening Biography[]

A scientist specializing in cryogenics, Dr.

Victor Fries froze his wife to prevent her

death from a rare disease - but he was injured

in his lab, and four himself unable to survive

outside a sub-zero environment. As Mr.

Freeze, consumed by anger, he uses frozen

weaponry in a battle against the city of

Gotham, and wears a refrigerated suit which

gives him remarkable strength.

Story[]

Batman and Robin arrived at the Snowy Cones Ice Cream Factory, there they see that someone froze two Police Marksmen and they go inside to find the culprit. They then find out that the culprit for freezing those cops was Mr. Freeze. He then tries to escape, but Batman throws a Batarang at his thrusters and he flies away. The Riddler, seeing his fallen partner, tickles him to get up and then the heroes follow him. Mr. Freeze tries to get up but the Batarang knocks him unconscious. The Riddler leaves the same box for Batman and Robin and runs off with Two-Face. Robin looks at the box and shakes it, thinking that if they put all the boxes together it will tell them where the villains went. Since Mr. Freeze is unconscious, this allows the police to take him to Arkham Asylum.

Walkthrough[]

You start at the entrance to the factory. Destroy some Riddler trucks using sugar gum to prevent more enemies from appearing. Destroy some glowing objects to your left to build a Robin panel, then put on the Magnet Suit as Robin. Destroy a door with your Batarang to continue and pull a lever to put a blue ice cream, then climb with the Magnet Suit and pull another lever to put a red ice cream. After that the door to the factory opens and you can proceed to the next area.

In the next area, break some shiny objects to build a Batman panel, then don the Glide Suit as Batman. Destroy some objects to build a mechanism, then push it to bring down an icy stream and cross it with the Glide Suit. Build a bridge for Robin to cross and destroy some ice cubes to build a ladder, then press two buttons to make a stream of ice disappear. Switch Robin to climb up a metal wall and build a hook for Batman to climb on, then climb up another metal wall to drop a crate. Then build some gears to move a bridge and climb another metal wall to pull a lever. Go into the next area.

In the next area, switch back to Batman to cross a gap and push a mechanism for Robin to cross. Then step on a button to turn a slide into stairs and wait for the other to reach the other button to continue. Use an ice cannon to make it icy out of a machine and freeze to continue. Switch back to Robin to climb a metal wall and pull a lever to raise the height of the hook. Push a box to make a vapor disappear and press two buttons to make another two vapors disappear, then enter the final area of the level.

In the final area of the level, you face Mr. Freeze. Take two hearts from him and he will run away from you and use an ice machine. Use a piece of candy gum to destroy the machine and make him come back to the battle. Take away two hearts and he will run away from you to spawn two ice creams with a platform. Climb some metal walls with Robin and pull two levers to reveal small bricks. Build boxes to push onto switches to drop an ice cube, then kill him to finish the level.

Collectables[]

S means that the collectible can be obtained both in Story and in Free Play. F means the collectible can only be obtained in Free Play.

Minikit Canisters
1. (F) Destroy some objects to your right at the start of the level to build some handholds, then use a high-jump character to reach this minikit.
2. (F) In the same spot as the first minikit, destroy a window to reveal this minikit.
3. (F) Use a character with super strength to destroy some handles to reveal this minikit.
4. (F) On the same spot as the civilian in danger, use a high-jump character to reach this minikit.
5. (F) Use a high-jump character to get to some metal objects and use a character with explosives to destroy them and reveal this minikit.
6. (S) Use an ice cream truck and put it on a platform to pull a lever, then it will transform into an ice cream object that you will have to break to reveal this minikit.
7. (F) Use a character with feminine wiles to open the door to a special area, then use a character with explosives to enter a double score zone and get this minikit.
8. (F) Use a character that is immune to toxins to step on a button, then use a character with explosives to destroy a silver object and reveal this minikit.
9. (F) Go left to reveal a ga. Use a glider character to cross it, then use a character with explosives to destroy a metal wall and use a fan to reach this minikit. You can get out of there by pulling a lever to turn off the fan.
10. (F) Further to the left of the previous minikit, use a mind control character to control the mind of a civilian and pull a lever to open the door and get this minikit.

Fast Batarangs Red Brick
- (F) Use a character with super strength to enter a booth and destroy an object to reveal a button, then press a button with one character and switch to the other to grab this brick.

Civilian in Peril
- (F) Use a mind controlled character to open a door and reveal this civilian in danger.

Unlockables[]

The minikit model in this level is an Ice Treat. After completing the level, you unlock Batman (Glide Suit) (unless you have completed There She Goes Again or Joker's Home Turf) and Robin (Magnet Suit) (unless you have completed There She Goes Again or Joker's Home Turf). In the Batcave you can buy a Freeze Girl. You will also be able to continue to Two-Face Chase. After collecting the Red Brick, you can purchase Fast Batarangs.
